John o'Groats is really just famous for the fact it's the most northernly point on the mainland. Its the west coast of Scotland that has all the stunning scenery. 🏴

Actually, it's not even that. The Northernmost point is Dunnet Head while Duncansby Head is the most North Easterly point.
This is a true Jamie and Sherpa adventure, beautiful sunset, cozy van and snacks, wake up by a wild beach and a roam around the coast with the Lord of all doggies. 🌅🥤🐺😍

I love this adventure. The scenery is hauntingly beautiful, there's a special feel to Scotland. I wouldn't be surprised if Sherpa wanted to grab all the family, Nook, K'eyush and his family, and move there. Oh... and Batdog of course.

Usually when people think of northern Scotland they think of the Highlands, Inverness, and Nessie! But go further north into Caithness and it becomes as flat a pancake, as we see here!

It's the same here in Canada 🇨🇦 there's parts of Canada that have lots of mountains then u traveling and then u hit a part where it's flat as a pancakes, and that place is called Saskatchewan. Tc have a wonderful day

It's nice to see how people feel and want to just pull over and walk everywhere, its why most of us just walk everywhere, I live withing half a mile of portobello beach and arthurs seat, so have the perfect excuse to walk my dog either way, she picks left or right and I enjoy them right along with her, cannot get tired of this beauty day in and day out.

I love seeing your travels with Sherpa. I traveled to Thurso by train in 2005, it’s just a bit to the west of J o Gs. There was a beach to walk on and a music shop and little else, but it had beautiful scenery. I was too chicken to rent a car, fearing year round black ice. 😂 Thanks for reminding me of all the pretty spots in Scotland.

The sky was amazing!
Too bad the latte stand was just a shade too tall for Sherpa to stand and converse with eye contact, like he does at his faithful friend's snack bar back home. It was almost inversely prophetic when you were remarking how the approach to John O'Groats was nothing special, then POOF! the most beautiful views from the carpark, your pick of the lot, and free to boot! Gorgeous skies, seas, Stacks, Orkney views, birds, boats, vintage structures - and sea breezes through Sherpa's fluff, and views of the lighthouse at night from the van's comfort. Watching you implement your van mods was very helpful. Thank you so much for sharing, Sherpa and Jamie! This was a marvelous treat with breakfast. Even told a close friend, "Oh, I'm on holiday with friends at the Northernmost point in Scotland at the moment." lol Bright blessings.
