Trailmakers is about building very awesome vehicles and machines, but you don’t need an engineering degree to get started. The intuitive builder will get you going in no time. Everything you build is made from physical building blocks. Each block has unique features like shape, weight and functionality. They can be broken off, refitted and used to build something new. Individually the blocks are fairly simple, but combined the possibilities are endless.
Expedition Mode is the challenging campaign mode of Trailmakers. You are competing in an off-world rally expedition with only a few building blocks to get you started. You must build, tinker with and rebuild your machine to progress. Journey through a big world, overcome deep gorges, angry wildlife and dangerous weather to progress and find new parts that will juice up your machine. The world in Expedition Mode will test your survival skills and ingenuity.
Sandbox Mode is where you want to head for an unrestricted, sandbox, vehicle-building experience. Here you can build anything you can dream of, and play around with it in the world of Trailmakers. It is a great place to test out crazy machines, and experiment with the physics engine. With tons of different blocks, hinges, thrusters and interactive vehicle parts - the skybox is the limit.
Trailmakers is even more fun if you play it with other people. Build cool vehicles and compete in mini-game modes with your friends or other Trailmakers online. Build a helicopter, send it to your friend, and shoot them out of the sky. Put two seats on a tank, and let your friend control the turret. As we get further in Early Access development Expedition Mode will also be adapted to multiplayer.

Just fyi, if your plane is less maneuverable than your opponent’s, try not to turn fight him. You were in a biplane with a lot of lift so you probably could’ve gotten him to overshoot you because of how slow you could go if you did like a scissors maneuver.

lol same even though i play arcade bcuz realistic/sim is too hard to me but i just started a month ago so i dont think other players have a much better skill than me at this point in game

ah yes, war thunder. I have a love-hate relationship with that game. Come back every few years to just lose interest again after a month or 2

The difficulty of it makes it so entertaining to watch; first-person is truly immersive. If each hit was more destructive, it would have been perfect. I prefer this over easier, more arcadey challenges. I'd love to watch this type of battle more often and see you guys learn building techniques and adapt strategies over the span of multiple episodes. But at the end of the day, it should come down to what is more enjoyable and satisfying for you, and not the viewer.

At the end of the day, it really doesn't matter what scrapman wants, as the viewers determine the amount of money he gets paid
First person manual aim evolution?
Agreed on all counts. I can't speak for the playing experience, but the viewing experience (for me) was best in the first match. The tension of not knowing where your enemy is until you see them or their bullets on screen was palpable. But the most important thing for me was the lack of gyros. Seeing winged planes just swivel around a pivot makes me think of a kid holding toy planes in his hand and flying them around. Maybe fun for some people, but that's not content I enjoy.
@@iceofwolfyeah I think gyros are kind of a cheap thing for Trailmakers to have, at least in the context of challenges like this
if u angled the guns slightly up you would be able to hit him when you flew below him, also you can put the reticle decal on the inside of the cockpit windshield to help with aiming

Scrapam knew, he even said it during the rules but he still made a big aircraft, he even guessed about yeuzi's aircraft.
He's just throwing at this point.

I get that realistic dogfight are more difficult, and for some maybe less enjoyable
but figuring out how to angle yourself, when to climb to get a potential energy advantage over your opponent, how to build your vehicle for better visibility, or gun angling, the difficulty of spotting your opponent and the risk of giving away your position by firing, it's fascinating to me, takes me back to playing war thunder
I hope you guys do this again, this was honestly the best video I've seen in a while
and don't build bulky!! no armor = best armor
in air fights it's all about speed, agility and firepower
even if you have redundancy, if you get hit it'll f up your steering, so it's better not to get hit at all, think like a glass canon
There’s a setting that turns off nameplates up until a certain distance, and that way you get to keep the aiming reticles.
This is the way! Love to see more fights without hud and auto aim. I’m guessing fights on the ground on a larger map can be quite interesting this way, as you have to find eachother first.
Two ideas
1. To make it more “realistic” I thought about putting dynamite were the engine might be and/or where the ammunition would be.
2. Do a “realistic” racing series were you could go through the different type of vehicles.
Anyway just ideas. I love the videos.
Ammunition on aircraft doesn't blow up like a tank's does. Just makes the guns jam.

Video idea: Metal crate dispenser battle! Basically, make cars with metal crate dispensers attached (as opposed to a gun or cannon) and battle it out. Unlike explosive weapons, metal crate dispensers rely on impact damage, and have a much greater possibility to send your opponents flying.

Interestingly my first thought when Scrapman said he was making a biplane. Isn't there a reason why you don't see those anymore? and sure as can be he took the part off, and his plane became a lot better.

Multiplayer idea. You both usually build to a specific critiria, form and function. Build something to accomplish a certain number of tasks that can prove function. Then have a build off and have someone else judge form. Tie breaker is a weaponized version of your form builds.

Can be quite disorienting when in first person, I'm quite surprised that during World War 1 era there were even any plane to plane kills...
It's because WWI era cockpits had more visibility that ScrapMan's build. They were placed farther back, with the wings placed farther forward. They had better visibility up, but sacrificed some visibility forward. Not a problem when you're diving on someone unaware, but when getting deflection shots, it is a bit of an issue, but can be dealt with.
Reminds me of the old TrailMakers dogfight days.
Also idea, Ring of Fire evolution race. See who can make it through all the rings of fire fastest on the Danger Zone map

You started this with a WWI plane against a WWII plane. Kinda neat that it evolved to be somewhat of an even fight.
You guys should each try to make a first person shooter rig and fight with them, or maybe make mechs and fight those

just a tip: You could use the bupmer piece (it's a cosmetic piece) to connect the wing because i doesn't have aerodynamics

You should try a no HUD 1st person artillery(No short range weapons) tank battle where you can sort of the hide in the hills!

I think a really cool video would be another take on capture the flag from a while ago.
Make vehicles with crane arms, a red and blue box (presumably a bit heavy), and two bases.
Vehicles have a max of like 10 power cores or something and each team is trying to have both boxes to score a point.
Weapons would be allowed but you would have to sacrifice speed, but obviously maybe some weapons like rockets would be a bit too strong.
I really enjoyed the 1st person. It felt more intense and immersive. (edited to add a descriptor I couldn't think of)

What about Overpowered blimp/Zeppelin vs first person prop planes? that could be alot of fun
for an easier start, leaving the HUD on until the countdown would be an option. and maybe the game devs add an option to configure the HUD. so you could turn off names but keep the aim reticle.
Pvp battle...but rotate your shield each...time they're hit...so your shields are always fresh.
i have a proposition of dogfight :
you know how planes have an eject function to save peoples life? just do the same! like a dogfight with overpowered weapons but you can repair mid air if you can eject before dying, still first person if possible, autoaim is fine but if you're out of the cockpit you're out of the round. also you shoud put a speed limit too
i think that it would be cool to see you guys have no build limit and no limit on anything except for no shields. just two super sonic jets fighting

Coming off of this video I would like it if trailmakers made a custom option that promotes fps only and hud of aka an immersive experience while it is possible by just using first person till be hard for those primarily using public cus you will most likely be ruled out by those using third person for superiority(and yes I commented 2 times in one video deal with it)

You guys should do 'Realistic' torpedoes. Real torpedoes carry large yields, and detonate BELOW their target rather than on impact. It would be interesting to see how that raft-like battleship without a keel or the overpowered battleship would fare against 8 or 10 dynamite.

I have an idea, do you, Yzuei, and incogneto 1v1v1 dogfight with no limitations, except the game, no challenges, and you can make changes inbetween rounds to try improve, the main goal is to just have fun
Scrapman for a future video u should do (overpowered anti-air defense mobile vehicles) vs human guided missiles.
This is a concept that should not be killed after one try. The concept was great, but the lack of experience in first person view hurt it a lot.

To make it more interesting, make another dogfight, but with 2 people per team, one builds a plane with guns and bombs, the other one builds and Anti-Air Truck, the trucks are only allowed to engage the planes, the planes have to fight each other and can try to destroy the truck, team with the last flying plane wins.
