The Legend will forever be remembered for his tremendous contributions in Ghanaian music and the positive impact he has musically made in the lives of Ghanaian youths and the music lovers in general. May God give him long life and strength. He is our grandpapaa. We love him.
Jay…Ghana really appreciates you…thanks. Ghana needs to give you a passport so you don’t wait in line at the airport. I know you’ve a Sierra Leonian passport and I love my Sierra Leonian brethren but another one wouldn’t hurt.
Nice interview Jay!! I wanted to ask from Reggie & Zilla: Can't the airline companies link up with you so that you serve to African who may prefer this meal?
The base of Waakye sounds like hoppin’ John (black eye peas and rice). My family is from Saint Helena South Carolina and Savannah. Georgia and this is a dish prepared for New Years Day. Different people add other items like cheese and other vegetables to hoppin John based on what they expect for the new year.
Thanks for getting back, they were so involved in wrapping it in the banana leaf I was wondering. Enjoy your videos and hope to visit Ghana on one of the tours.
"Highlife" is not specific to Ghana exclusively! Highlife is considered native to Ghana, Nigeria, Benin, Togo, and several other West African States. Lest we forget...We are One People until the "enemies arrived to divide..."Out of One Comes Many"! Highlife is African and so is Soukous, Juju, AfroBeat...The ROOTS to Music of The Universe!. The Message In Our Music!
We need to learn our history very well as Africans and stop misleading and distorted our own history from the original….Both highlife and Afro pop music culture originated from Ghana,… In the 60’s 70’s to 80 going forward Ghanaians highlife music was a big deal in Nigeria and across west Africa however till date Nigeria still sampling and using the original Ghanaian highlife beats…. Memories of Yellow sisi, sweet mother and many more to remember lol
Ninjas stay trying to take credit from AA. Hip hop didn't start in Africa man. Y'all got to stop with the nonsense. I'm not saying Africans didn't have their own music but ninjas be trippin with that statement.
@kpanlogoto be clear, I'm not denying the African contribution. But let's be honest, Afrobeats, and AMAPIONO is a direct influence of hip hop. Pan Africans can big up Africa without trying to take away the African American experience. That's all I'm saying

Amazing people God bless you all.

I wanted to ask from Reggie & Zilla:
Can't the airline companies link up with you so that you serve to African who may prefer this meal?
You can also franchise it. Have your first franchise in Nigeria.

I hear what you saying king, but the fact remains, its a Ghanaian thing that inspired all of West Africa.
Highlife exclusively originated in Ghana and later spread to West Africa.
