- The only value I see of SIn is to pair it with a bow in pvp, meaning your dots could stay that longer, that could be very toxic for Bow OPR - Did a lot of tests with Venom, turns out that this spear with HA is still less damage than the 2LA build. However, GS/Venom seems to out-damage Serenity for PvE - The AoE from Flare from Fire Staff does proc multiple tics of poison (on multiple players) - Nature's Wrath is 20% BaseDamage, and you're missing a key-point which is that the tooltip is wrong, it doesn't make Empower expire 200% faster, but in fact does put every empower to 0s except the "fixed empowers" or "no duration empowers" (i.e. Honing Stone / Ring Dmg / Harnessing / Elemental runeglass / Oblivion / Leadership / Berserk / Onslaught Stance / Blood Lust / Clear Mind / Clear casting / Rune of Helios...). So this chest is good for weapons that do apply empower that stay (GS/Hatchet/VG/FS). And from my testings, it is a good damage boos at least for Hatchet and GS which are the only ones are tested. - Ironheart : turns out, from calculations, that it gives less EHP than Void Darkplate, even in 300CON There you go :) bit more info probably for your next video !
Cheers! :) - Apparently Sin can increase CC duration, so there could be more value than expected! - Not surprised about the Venom result, I think it's really just meant to buff Coup de Grace. It potentially out-damaging Serenity is spicy though! That would also make it very good for PvP because it would make you more flexible with GS perks. - AoE FS heavy counting at multiple heavies is crazy, did not expect that but there could be a lot of potential for clump fights here! - The Nature's Wrath situation is a bit weird, it might up being way better than it sounded to me at first, based on how the increase works right now. - I wouldn't be entirely surprised if Ironheart isn't that good, I think it mainly depends on how exactly the multiplier works.
Sin passive does work on DoTs but also CC, along with light having -10% freedom it's basically making lights have -35% freedom. I went to test things like reap slow and netshot + crippling and it made those last for about 11-12s for netshot slow and roughly 7s slow for reap and these were on mobs not light players. I think it's very overlooked, other things like shield bash are now 4s instead of 3s.
I did not expect them to include hard CC in "debuffs", that actually opens up a lot more use cases for it. Could be extremely toxic if combined with lost stopwatch
I was waiting for this video! 😁 Imo for Spear/Hatchet, Sin could be bis for that build in some cases. Both weapons applies insane debuffs and dots, and both can also extend the duration even further by crits and hits, making possible keep the enemy debuff pretty much 100% of the time in a 1v1 situation. I played that build a lot pre-expansion and there is very high chances I'll be playing it again with this new hatchet artifact . Nature's Wrath is nuts in particular for elemental dmg builds like windchill or firestaff, builds that can reach non-temporary empower cap so it's free dmg.
Fully agreed this hatchet will be insanely good offhand for spear with spear crit debuff extension that is also 20% you can go up to 45% longer debuffs for example imagine landing skewer in 1v1 scenario with Enfeebling Skewer on weapon 47% weaken for almost 12 seconds 🤯 or Sundering Javelin 21% rend (on gear) for almost 15 seconds + you have perforate weaken/rend also on New World Buddy you can see that Vault Kick is counted as Debuff category so with 10% longer cc on Light armor + Sin extension and (if you crit with vault kick) you can go from 1.5sec stun to 2 seconds vs light players
I never found that to be much of an issue as a whirlwind user, but I also don't primarily use it in clumps. WW has grit, so that's mainly an issue when a lot of War Hammers are around I think.
Natures Wrath is 20% Bonus Damage, but the current PTR version is kind of odd since it nullifies all pure empowerment like Kemp even the emp on spear is nullified, but it doesn't affect empowerment that is bound to other or static buffs like Berserk or Runes of Helios. Same for passives.
I think it works as intended -200% means fully removal of TIMED empowers thats why for example FS rune of helios empower stays if you are keep standing in it or in VG Oblivion
Maybe IronHeart with shirking heals on 4 pieces? I know Tempest Fury will be used in non-war PvP, speed is always a win, especially in a grp where 1 or 2 have it and run down opponents for the grp. Pair it with SnS, no one will get away and if over-extend can have sustain with shield. I can see the creed boots paired with the gem that does +15% damage to opponents over 70% in health (or the one for below 30%) being very good and will definitely get used by ranged that want to either blast backline healers/squishies or finish off fleeing opponents that they have yet to hit. Somewhat situational but I bet it gets used.
woah, these are actually some game changing Artifacts.. with these there will be some new op builds and synergies.. (if staying as on ptr) dont wanna get into all the details.. but there are some really strong combos here.. with many being way stronger then existing combos/builds/Artifacts. the chest and pants will replace the armor arti, for many build types. interesting to see how it goes, and if liike the chest piece stays the same as on ptr etc. the spear is also very op, u can stun kick > (behind) sweep > coude grace almost any playa to zero. or normal jav (with rend)instead of vault kick, for em heavy bois.. as an example. then is also combined wit certain artifact armor tech etc.. lets cook folks ;)
Even with it now being 1s instead of 2s, I fail to see how anyone excluding existing Ankh users would want to use anything other than Phoenix. You can add Health when you upgrade and all you lose is the damage reduction perk. Or add the damage reduction perk and compensate for health elsewhere. Ocean's Peace, with perhaps some adjustment to the values, would have filled a nice niche (sustain via regen, opposed to sustain via incoming heals/SH, sustain via leech and sustain via pots). This overwrites ALL of those except for Ankh (which not everyone uses).
I think Phoenix should be changed to something more unique yet not obviously bis. It should give you 50% health back but you only have 5s to live. You will die after that timer expires, guaranteed. But you've got 5s to have one last go at killing, healing or completing an objective (or reviving and it should allow at least one revive attempt even if you start it with no time left).
Well I think I will try the axe as a healer :D with the new changes to the camera perspective you can just run, hit a target and run even fast away… you can have full stacks with the weapon and even if they can reach you, you have so much mobility on the ga that no one might get close to you again… 😅 Edit: I am pretty sure they will nerf the amulet even harder. Berserk and the rapier weapon perk got merged because it was/would be too strong, wouldn’t be surprised if it will be changed to „restore x health instead of dying“.
Maybe not the best place to ask, but is the Dragonscale heavy gear which is currently being dropped in the New Years event worth using in a Tank build? Trying to determine which is better Frigid Dawn or Dragonscale. Any guidance would be appreciated.
PEOPLE ARE SAYING bad things about the axe but i thin k it can be useful is you get him for suport and chacing and use the main weapo for dmg, ill try my build rapier - beyblade axe
I thought it would be a video testing the artifacts and drawing conclusions, with all of them available in the PTR to test I don't see the value of talking only about their statistics
yeah, this is just duke sloths thoughts on what has been shown, but sadly no actual testing. in NW u have to test every lil thing out urself. maybe he just doesnt want to "waste the time" testing on ptr.. cuz he kinda frustrated with NW, and has often done testing, and gotten mixed results, had both hit and miss tests.. then NW might also change stuff from ptr, meaning tests on ptr useless.. but at the same time testing on ptr is so important, to be able to stop some rediculous ags does, before it goes live. but most NW streamers these days have stopped doing actual real testing.. it is very time consuming
Maybe you want to make a follow up video looking at these artifacts from a PvE point of view because in this one, you pretty much are looking at them from only a PvP point of view.
Im just glad that this batch of artifacts dont include some bullshit Pulls and CCs... i swear they have a fetish with pulling and slowing. Even weapons that didn't have them keep getting them, like the bullshit that is Scorpio's sting. I like venom the most... and it has a cool skibln, not like some artifacts that are just generic skins
Their fetish on heavy attacks on spear is just weird. Spear tree has these heavy attack focused passives which no one ever uses as the weapon is basically light attack only (except Coup de Grace). But instead of revamping these we get two spear artefacts with useless perks for 90% of spears gameplay.
duke, u are one of the most timid passive open world pvp players i have ever seen, lol. ;b and that even though u play "bruiser" style builds in medium loadout.. u also mostly only ever engage, if u are outnumbering or zerging one or a couple players.. how are your pvp skills still so bad/basic?.. after playing this game since launch? id be a lil embarrasssed, airing ur open world pvp sessions in these vids.. still luv ya man.. haHA. pls dont stop playin and enjoying NW. its the best we have atm
I tested Gilli's gauntlets on the PTR. It's straight garbage. It's a 30 second buff that only works on your next attack. You mentioned that it's like jasper. No, not really. Jasper allows you to make more than one strike in the empower window. It's an awful artifact.
So much speculation...when the PTR is out and you can test your questions...trash content. Just recycle the ptr patch notes and ride them coat tails...
Man just give it up this game is made by a small indie company that can't pump the content out like some of these larger studios and new weapons doesn't count as content

Couldn't ironheart work good with shirking heals as you heal more with higher hp
Since musket does not have an heavy attack, does venom apply with musket?

I actually don't think Whirlwind CD is the issue more the fact that it is extremely easy to stop the ability

Tempest fury + mag gauntlets + GA leech = amazing sustain while fortified and empowered with grit.

Every hung is debuff. It works for spear utilimate (10% for each debuff 3 stack max )

Leaving a like cause l like The Duke. Not too enthousiastic about New World atm 🙂
Appreciate the gesture, completely understand the sentiment!

To make whirlwind better if you get knocked out of it reduce the cool down to 15 seconds.

Ever used whirlwind off a cliff or ledge? We're about to witness the dawn of the first New World Air Force if that badboy spins 12 times in the air!
Where does the Tempest Fury Ga drop, nwdb says the winter rune forge but that’s over isn’t it?
It's a pity I cannot have Ironheart in light equip mload. That would be sick
Wonder why the great axe doesn't allow a gem? It doesn't have a conversion or elemental damage?
I was also thinking about this and (my guess) is cause it has 2 artifact perks same as Sin hatchet so it takes gem slot
Pheonix with Hatchet defy death is going to be disgusting
I thought it would be a video testing the artifacts and drawing conclusions, with all of them available in the PTR to test I don't see the value of talking only about their statistics

Do you think Sin could be a competitor for Freyas for a hatchet throw build (if you can get empowering rending Throw as last perk)?
Maybe you want to make a follow up video looking at these artifacts from a PvE point of view because in this one, you pretty much are looking at them from only a PvP point of view.
You can 2 shot people with creed boots and musket.
Nothing matters unless they get rid of Phoenix, it's game breaking. Have tested it, as awful in practice as theory

Hot take… it’s not meant to be a primary weapon. It’s to support fire, bow, GS
spear applys shit tone of debuff and runeglass count as one
Can you put penetrating backstab on venom?
