    Looks spectacular, especially the high speed moment. Can’t wait for my Deltic to arrive.

    That was back in November at South Hants exhibition. Only derailed at speed on the slip.

    Love that you are making a product that can so readily be converted to P4... I can't bring myself to do OO gauge as it just seems wrong, been thinking about 2mm finescale- but if you can convert so easily to P4 am tempted to try.....😀

      Wish we'd have moved to HO back in the 1980s

      @@dixiedean1955 Yes, I love modelling, and wish to return to the hobby, but just cant bring myself to spend all my time and effort on trying to create a detailed model with a gauge that is so (obviously) wrong. When you see Scalefour/P4 the difference is huge!

      @@sinistregoth I'm in the same boat. Eager to start another layout. I had an EM gauge layout about 20 years ago but trying to get wheel sets, plus building paintwork was so time consuming and frustrating a lot of the time! I cant bring myself to build another layout using 00 track as it looks awful. Makes it even worse as I work on the 12 inch to the foot version too!

      The 1980s would have been a great time to change as there was a real hiatus in manufacturing at that point. The older models were all pretty basic and new manufacturers were starting up. Would have been better just to have moved to HO then. It would have all been history by now

    Moves over the points well at realistic running speed ,which is nice to see.

    Looks good. Can you confirm the diameter of the wheels please?

    I find myself genuinely curious what the people were going to say who were cut off in their prime during the video :)

    Why do modelers do all these weird sub scales...P4 ,EM etc instead of OO ?

    • @dominicporter5100
      @dominicporter5100 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      OO and Scalefour are both the same scale/size, but different track gauges. OO mostly uses HO scale track (16.5mm), while Scalefour, a niche scale for modellers who usually really want as much accuracy as possible, is set to 18.8mm track gauge. Small difference, I know, but I guess some people really want that extra bit of accuracy.
