I was a diehard fan of The Chocolate Factory broadway show (specifically the original UK version) back in High School, but I had no idea each country had a different outfit for Willy Wonka. It makes me love this musical even more.
Some of them mostly copy the original suit, but about half of them changed it up quite a bit :)

Fun Fact: During production of Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, the actors who played the Oompa Loompas were known for partying hard off-set, even travelling in a limo together to bars.

Wilders Wonka will always be my all time favourite. He has that warmth to him and yet that brutal honesty that we all need.
You know, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory has always been my favorite story. I've been waiting since 2018 for Netflix to release an animated miniseries of the story, but other than getting a couple updates that Taika Waititi would write and direct and Mikros will do the animation, I've been getting nothing...

I saw a clip of the Japanese Willy Wonka, and I really like the suit he wears.
Fun fact: there was supposed to be a 90s animated willy wonka movie, with apparently some nightmare fuel concept art, it was apparently cancelled in planning stages because quest for camelot failed.
I had no idea there were so many different versions of Wonka. What a world we live in.
Also, would you please cover Doctor Who or Sherlock Holmes one of these days?
I grew up with the classic and saw the recent, proud to say my childhood is complete. I never thought I would see a film prequel of Willy Wonka.

I grew watching "Charlie and The Chocolate Factory" & my high school even did a play of it.

I've seen Tim Burton's Charlie & the Chocolate Factory plenty of times to remember and understand that Willy Wonka (Johnny Depp) rescued the oompa loompas from the dangerous creatures of Loompaland. So Willy gave them a new, safe home in his factory.
Never knew a lot of other Wonka's existed.
Some really do give off the creepy vibe, even.

I doubt he acted like an akward Michael Jackson wannabe in the books, hell by the time the book was publish he was still in the jackson 5.
Sure he has the same basics from the book that weren't in the gene wilder version like having grandpa Joe as a former employer, and building the chocolate castle to that arabian prince. But i barelly buy him as an excentric candymaker like wilder and even chamlet since most of his scenes is either him literally forgeting his lines or doing weird faces for the camera. Also piss off that entire backstory with the father was pointless. Yeah the Backstory with the mother is pointless too but at least they are honest by saying this is not a 100% faithfull portrait of the character.

I know gene Wilder didn’t want any continuation to be made, but I think if he were still Alive and watch Wonka, he would love the Movie and Timothee Chalamet’s performance.

The nestle and Tim burton wonkas are the versions I grew up with. I really miss the days when nestle made wonka candy, my mom loved their gobstoppers.
I can still remember the website where you could have your own office and play the various games, I miss those days, you used to be able to play the games on the developer's website, but I checked it last night and they all seem to have been redacted.
I really miss the days when Nestle didn't use child slaves to pick their chocolate. Shame they never existed.

Tbh my favorite movie was the newest one, so he's most definitely my favorite Wonka. After all, he jjst seemed so lively and full of dreams and wonder, like the actual factory he makes later in life! It fits so well and explains why Wonka is so much less lively and more quiet in the OG willy wonka and the Chocolate factory. It's because he poured his dreams and imagination into the factory, and eventually gave it everything he had. All his childlike wonder from the new movie "Wonka"
