I love Historical Fiction , I got back into it after The Historical Fiction Read a thon back in February .
You probably already read The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah but if not , it's a must , 5 stars and I cried like a baby at the end !

Thanks for the recommendations - I added a few to my list. I recently finished reading Orphan Monster Spy by Matt Killeen - it’s a YA WW2 historical fiction and I really liked it.

Such great recommendations, Lindsey! I’ve read several and they are all excellent! I was also fortunate enough to see Ruta Sepetys speak- so incredible! I have read all of her books and would read anything she put out☺️ I just watched the movie based on Between Shades of Grey. Really well done.

Before following you I had not read that many Historical Fiction. After seeing your suggestions on books, I have found that I love this genre. The War that Saved My Life and The War I Finally Won are amazing books! The kids in my county were having to read it last year so my daughter and I decided to read it and we loved both books. We also loved Between Shades of Gray. I ended up reading it because it was on the Battle of the Books for a couple of years.
Another great book is A Night Divided by Jennifer A. Nielsen.

I love World War II historical fiction, and enjoyed this video . I recommend the following: Sarah's Key, The Girl From the Train, Finding Rebecca, A Fire Sparkling, and The Bicycle Spy. The last book is middle grade.

I have read both The Alice Network and The Huntress and loved them both! Although my favorite is definitely The Alice Network. I've just finished Secrets of a Charmed Life by Susan Meissner which is set in London during the Blitz. It was pretty good.

I really enjoyed this video. Since I read The Nightingale, it started my love for historical fiction genre. I actually searched for the historical fiction book recommendations and found your 1st video recommendation. :) Other non historical fiction books I recommend are Before we were yours by Lisa Wingate and Next Year in Havana by Chanel Cleeton

"Ordinary Heroes" by Scott Turow is an excellent WWll historical fiction. It deserves a place beside "The Storyteller" and "The Nighingale", in my opinion. All fantastic historical fiction books.

Tricia Goyer writes some amazing WWII novels. One of my faves is an older one called Night Song-A story of sacrifice. I really want Code Name Helene but so far in my area only the hardcover is available and I'd rather have paperback but it's taking so long I'm regretting not grabbing it at Costco when it was there for half the price. I have Lilac Girls in my pile as well as the last two you showed. I need way more reading time!

If you haven’t read All The Light We Cannot See by Anthony Doerr, definitely add it to your list. It’s a tie for me with The Nightingale as one of my favorite WWII Historical Fiction faves!

I did read that one and (total unpopular opinion) I wasn't a fan. :(

Kristin Harmel is another awesome WWII author, I loved the room on rue amelie and the winemakers wife. Her new book comes out today and I can’t wait to read it! It’s called the book of lost names

I agree...duel timelines....love them. I just finished The Brideship Wife by Leslie Howard and I loved it, not WW2 but a great historical fiction book by a debut author and it has just come out...check it out I think you will love it too based on how similar our historical fiction tastes are. Another author I love and not sure if you have mentioned is Dinah Jefferies...read The Missing Sister earlier this year and it was wonderful as well!!

If you like The Tattooist of Auschwitz read the follow up Cilka's Journey by the same author. It is set in Siberia Russia.

Almost every fiction book about Ww2 had a female maim character. I assume this is a marketability choice.
