Mae West incredible woman. She was born and raised in the same area where I was born and raised. Good old Brooklyn, NY. She never got rid of her brooklyn accent. The more I learn about her the more I respect her. Rest in Peace The Diamond Lil.
Mae never had plastic surgery. She had diabetes the last 16 years of her life and probably more than that. They knew it the last 16. They couldn’t operate on her.

Now with that being said.......... she claimed to have never had cosmetic surgery. Maybe so, but she used many tricks to maintain her appearence. #1. wigs = she had very thin hair from years of bleaching and her age. #2. makeup = she wore very heavy make up ( for obvious reasons ) #3. capped teeth = she did not have dentures ( too popular belief ) the caps size and effect on her speech led many to believe they were dentures. #4. shoes = she wore platform shoes 8 to 10 inches high. #5. corset & padding = to maintain her hour glass figure and flat stomach. The corset is believed to have caused some health problems and constent pain for the last few years of her life. This was here say and never confirmed because of her refusal to exploratory surgery. #5. clothing = padding was often sewed into her costumes and gown. Long gowns and skirts with long sleeves to hide her shoes and results of old age. The cleavage was almost always exaggerated with an outline of lighter fabric and exact areas of breast exposure. Sleeves were always long and designed to come down over the hands much like todays senior stars trying to maintain a youthful appearence. #6. tape = this video is a great example of the tape used around the face. Notice her mouth and the way it looks when she says why did you shoot so low, and the eye brows that basicaly don't move and unnatural position. This info is common knowledge and described in one way or another in the many biograhys written about her. How does a Caucasian 83 year old, or an 83 year old of any race keep a firm jaw line, chin, face and neck structure and overall skin tone like that?!! That's NOT make-up folks! There's some lighting effects, but not much, and that can't even be plastic surgery! In other appearances at the time she looks even better. Sextette had some absurd dialog, but she was actually still sharp as a tac! And still hilarious too. She was actually a record label grade singer. I love her songs as much as anything she's done! "You got to buy de' jewels and prepare to fight si' bull if you what to make et' vis' Fifi!!"♥️
She was not "sharp as a tack" at 85 in "Sextette". She had to have her lines fed through an earphone. Once while taping a traffic copter flew over and interfered with her feed. She taped, "and there's a backup on La Brea". Oh...yea...aw.
I talked on the phone to Mae the day after this was broadcast. It was 1976. She wasn’t entirely happy with the lighting in the interview segment. Cavett was not the person to interview her. He acted like a school boy who wasn’t sure if he was on foot or horseback.
I don't understand why I am infatuated with Mae West. I don't consider her pretty or sexy, and I am not attracted to overweight women. It must be something about her ACT. I've seen her in interviews and I like her directness, but other than that I am at a loss to explain why I watch these little clips of her.

You can tell her neck looks good, and her extra fat plumps out her face. Those daily enemas also kept the age spots away, along with no drinking, and no sun.
The amazing thing about Mea west is that she did it her way for fight the censored world but To think about it now in our era where everything she did it is PG-13 compared to what’s going on now on TV and movies

Have to give her credit for attempting to sing at that age. But her time was over but she refused to admit it. Well at least she tried.
