I like how Trump just went with all beasts in this run in the most sarcastic way possible just to force the fact that running all beast in arena with hunter is a bad idea down our throats.

as far as i understand this game the problem with hunter is that beast decks are very predictable.. and if you don't go for beasts you're missing out on some powerful cards.. so end up in a fucked up position, no matter which cards you pick for your hunter deck.
ZyzztheticsForever Yeah, I sort of feel like it relies on a few tricks (hyena, buzzard, snake trap) that everyone knows, will see coming a mile off, and will usually stop before they can get going without much difficulty. Deadly/explosive/multi shot are all really good removal, and Highmane is great, but I don't think they can really carry an arena deck. Imo Hunter just needs more good cards.
Blizzard logic: Starving buzzard is to strong against the heroes that have 1 dmg...
so why has the northshire cleric still 3 hp?
just make the buzzard a 1/2. still has a loss in power, whilst actually letting it survive for more than 1 turn.

Chareater Blizzard has a lot of things they need to change. Its still in Beta so its likely Blizzard will be trying different things to try and balance it out.
i agree, buzzard is completely useless now vs Rogue/Druid/Mage. while i dont like beast decks at all, buzzards needs to have 2 HP. if they dont thing its balanced at 2/2 they should balance it otherwise, like making it 3 mana or a 1/2

My poing exactly! How exactly was it less OP and more annooying than Norshire Cleric and Mana Wyrm? They should just make it a 1 cost 1/3, or give similar stats to the two UBER-annoying aforementioned cards. At the current state of the game, the Hunter is pretty much unplayable.

***** Somewhat useful, but it never happens since people are expecting this combo.
By giving it a buff, like +2/+2 with Houndmaster, as a Hunter. That way, it doesn't die to any hit from any 1-powered minion and you may be able to benefit from its Enrage ability. It's still not good though. It might be least bad when you stick a Paladin's Blessing of Kings on it.

Unleash the hounds is best used as a combo with Starving Buzzard
Tundra rhino is kinda important for hunters to get the rushdown going. If you play it on turn 5 you can throw in a charging savanna highmane on turn 6. Provided the opponent doesn't immediately remove the rhino. Which against a good opponent is pretty unlikely unless they're starved for removal.
Or buzzard/hyena + rhino.
Although I have played against some secret hunters they were kind of annoying to fight. Freeze trap screws with the tempo and explosive trap is useful against rushdown. Misdirection is situational.
Perhaps a snake trap + abomination and flesheating ghoul would be interesting.
Unleash the hounds with a frostwolf warlord is okay, but again that's a fairly late game play.
The other tricks just involve combining the Buzzard/Hyena with snake trap/unleash the hounds. :/
Of course we all know that some of the essential cards don't come up in arena drafts.

Game 4 was literally the best game of RNG for trump I've seen ever, both playing, watching streams... next to maybe kripparians RNGstone video where he draws molten giant for damage to win lmfao
Ok so the point is that hunter beast synergy doesn't work. But a 6-3 run in arena for normal people is considered to be a good run so does it still count?
If he usually does much better (and yes, he does, 12 wins 25% of the time or something absurd like that) then yes, it does still prove his point. I wouldn't say one run is quite enough for definitive proof that the class is underpowered, per se, because RNG, but I think he's made his larger point regardless.
@Trump You can get some decent card draw from Starving Buzzard + unleash the hounds assuming they have stuff on the board.

Trump making an Angry Chicken, no matter how futile, play made me giggle like a schoolgirl.
i need someone to explain to me how did the 6/5 hyena (fight at 38:08-39:00) end up 6/3 instead of 6/2 ? (hyena is suppose to be 6/5 but it is 7/3 after killin a dingo taunt(3/5) and being buffed +1/+1 by shattered clerk then the silence card only silenced the buffed 7 but not the buffed 3.
so my question being: is a buff only considered a buff when the boosted stat is beyond the stat of the card when dropped on the board?
my other question is have that been changed since the beta or is still working that way?

health gets buffed at the max level and heals your card by X, when its silenced, the max is removed, but the heal remains.
23:15, why not kill command instead of deadly shot?
if enemy have board control release the hounds can be deadly combined with the hyena. xD you can make one massive hyena!
The best i've ever done since the patch with hunter is around 7. The new starving buzzard gets shut down to easily. Unleash the hounds was good before for a decent combo attack, but it's still okayish now. I won a lot of games with an unleash the hounds with a buff bonus.
i tend to do well with taunt + burner hunter. get cards like explosive trap, abomination, explosive shot, kill command, animal companion, harvest golem, taunts with many HP. that is of course if you get enough of these cards. basically keeping the board clean while you slowly drain his HP.

Trump, you passed on Explosive Trap, which is your answer to 1 HP minions. Its also very powerful too. Not sure why you dont see value in it.

Hunters need Rain of Arrows as a card. Similar to Fan of Blades but maybe instead of the draw a card it does 1-2 damage to all opponent's minions instead? Balancing the card aside, that should be a card.

today in an arena,.. starving buzzard combos pretty well with unleash the hounds,... my opponent got 5 instant cards for my creatures,... and almost cleared my board
guys i have question.. when heartstone release, what about my packs i spend gold on to buy. will i ablle to keep them or will they disapear?

Pretty sure this was a joke on the people going "Trump, your playing hunter all wrong, MORE BEASTS! Beast synergy is the point of the class!" after one of his hunter drafts (the "they nerfed this?" one), so he went for beasts against good neutrals.
Yeah but what I'm saying is he got 6 wins 3 losses, so 6/9=67% win, which is his average for hunter class. And who's to say if he was on the low end or high end of that? In any case I do agree hunter is too weak.

its because every time he did pick the good cards while playing hunter people would say he isn't winning because he didn't go for beasts. So to prove his point he purposefully ran as many beasts as possible to show that it doesn't work.
Hunters. So skilled with the bow yet all their arrow skills are random.

I got a feeling that hunter can't play anything but rushdown deck. And since it's so reliant on beast synergy it just don't work in arena, and also suffers heavily from bad draws. Or maybe just don't pick any beasts but bloodfen raptor and maybe highmane, since all others are just bad on their own. :D
Actually, the rushdown deck runs nearly no beasts. It's just about all neutrals. The problem with Arena is that the rushdown deck is a carefully crafted one, to be just damage to mana efficient to kill at turn 7. (At turn 7, you have a net 28 mana. You need to do 30 damage. The deck is designed to be slightly more efficient than 1:1)
