@@moongus9628 its still kinda possible but to much smaller extent, utilizing the orb by tethering to it or simply super jumping with hover active could get you quite some height, also in this fight the roof was removed, the strategy is not at all effective and boring for both fighters so i don't recommend it, but yes people do still play like that for whatever reason

As much as this fight was definitely quite the pain in the ass, this whole bout reminded me of how wide the scale of the maps can be and how that's so much empty space begging to be filled with something. Obstacles and stuff to maneuver and weave around with would be quite fun in really large battle zones, especially if they add characters that make use of being really zippy, and obstacles are a nice way to say fuck you to projectiles (not that most of them are hard to dodge or block, it's just a neat option)

i main wizard but i hate people that do this kind of tactic, so i almost never use spark bomb and ocasionally use magic dart when my combo is over and i have no better choices

Honestly I love playing against wizard. It's the perfect character for a game like this, people are just forgetting to drop their anti-zoner bias at the door. Yeah, they be spamming projectiles, but i'm not complaining, just gives me something to do.

Dartfarters like this you can just farm parties off of with their projectiles. (Good wizards will mix up timing with gust and zephyr, as well as fuck you with wall of flame and spark bomb.) Also, tip for good wizards: Flame Wave and Vile Clutch are blockable but not parriable, avoid if you can but do so in an unpredictable manner. once they have their orb play defensive and try to force them to drain their meter. If you can lock them in a combo, go for length not damage. The less time they spend gaining meter the more time they spend losing it. While the orb is up, keep the following in mind: Kicks cause lightning, conjure weapon and icicle cause the orb to spin swords. Everything else makes it fire a homing projectile. As such, keep a close eye on what move they use while the orb is up, because it’s gonna follow up. -sincerely, an amateur wizard main.

The wizard spells really seem like they are there to provide pressure as you close from mid to close range, and to combo into or out of once closing. Not so sure about approaching darts, but zap orbs make your opponents movement more limited and can extend combos, and the ORB just follows up after you making for some insane set up combos, especially if you know what your doing
I remember fighting against a wizard as ninja since i play ninja always and he spawned like 10 missiles and i was literally dogging them trying to see if they hit me on a specific frame it was terrifying but i only did 500 damage to the wizard in the end and my fate was sealed
Honestly, Wizard is pretty OP. I had a notable increase in wins when I noticed everyone I played against picked him and started using him instead of Cowboy. Though the recent patch seems to have made Ninja more viable against him, and it nerfed Geyser.
Don't mess with Robot players, we'll wait half an hour to be able to attack after suffering the tiniest of damage, and proceed to miss each one of the 500 grabs we got
I main wizard and don't get why people play wizard just as a projectile class, its combos can be so fun and complex if you actually go in melee range, especially if you know how to utilize the orb
I dunno if I'm ever gonna be able to do something like that 😅 but damn if it doesn't make me wanna play more to try. I still haven't fought a wizard yet, I'm so nervous about it. Fought Robot once and had no idea what was going on haha

Luckily now with Free Cancels the cowboy can use impale to warp behind the wizard and cancel in to something. Risky but closes infinite distance.
