    Hey I was in Ao Nang in Feb 2018 and Feb 2020 - both times it was busy and awesome and been to Phuket twice too. To be honest, I do prefer Krabi/Ao Nang over Phuket but Phi Phi is something else. It is a shame that you are there with the lockdowns but I can assure you once everything does get back to normal you will love it plus day trips from Ao Nang to the 4-Islands, Railey Peninsula, Hong Islands, Phi Phi and the inland activities in Krabi are absolutely worth it. I found Phuket dirty, polluted, too many scammers and dodgy characters when it was busy and I absolutely detested Patong area where people in Krabi/Ao Nang are far more friendlier and welcoming IMHO

    So happy to see your video, I love Ao Nang, great to see a few more people around and businesses starting to open. It feels different to me as it doesn’t have much of a Thai feel to it, the buildings could be anywhere really. But along the beach towards Railay there were lots of massage huts and a more relaxed vibe. Not sure they will have survived! And I worry about the deaf guy who cooked corn on the beach for years, I wonder how he has been surviving.

    Hello Eleise, Lawrence and little Nyh. I hope I have spelt it right. My friends enjoy your holidays while you can. I just heard on the news today, that our borders are closed again. It was only yesterday that I sent an email to Phuket Graceland for the prices of suites for 8 nights, and today I get this news. It is heart breaking. I love Thailand with all my heart, but all I can do is dream of Thailand every day. I haven't had a holiday in 4 years. Here it is very hot. We have had high temperatures in the 40's here. Yeah… We had a great time there Mark. I guess it’s about making the most of what’s open and available. We made friends with the locals and had great night life. Everyone was super friendly. The excursions are open… tiger cave, railway beach day trip (our video will be out in a. Few days of that one), thermal spas etc. plenty to do. You’re 45min back to phi phi or 1.5hr back to Phuket if you decide not enough is going on. As a stop safe maybe book with cancellation option. But honestly we had a great time (5 nights) and could of stayed there another few nights no problem. Good luck with your travels. Hope to hear from you again soon. 🖤

To support the people. However, we will be honest in our videos as people watch our video and decide whether to spend their hard earned money on travelling here. We would be WRONG if we told everyone it’s fine come out everything is open.
      We were wearing masks but whilst filming we took them off as you wouldn’t of been able to hear us. We were at a safe distance don’t worry Martina. But thank you for your concerns. 🖤

    Usually, Thai people travel in different regions of Thailand according to the season. For example, in the south of Thailand, Thai people prefer to travel during the summer of the year (January-April) and the rainy season is mainly in the central and northeastern regions. And at the end of the year (November-January) Thai people are popular to the northern part of Thailand. Because the northern and northeastern parts of Thailand will have a very cool and beautiful weather after the rainy season and the beginning of winter. That's why Phi Phi Island or Krabi is so quiet. and shops starting to rebuild or improve during this period And another main reason is that the country is opening up. If you want to party during this time If it is by sea, Thai people will go to Pattaya or Phuket more. As in Pattaya, now there is an event. Pattaya Music Festival So many people go there. And the weather in Thailand is cold (for Thai people) so the sea is not very interesting during this period. During this time, most Thai people go up the mountain to pitch their tents to admire the sea of mist and the beautiful nature in winter more than the sea.
    And Thai people love children, especially foreign children. Thai people will love, care and have a lot of affection for children as much as you love and care for your children. So you can rest assured that there will be many Thai people greeting your children or coming to play with.😁😁🙏🙏

    If you're getting travel advice off TH-cam vlogs you probably shouldn't travel at all. Why not try and discover your up-to-now unused sense of adventure and plan your own holiday? Exactly 😅

    • @parttimetravellingfamily
      @parttimetravellingfamily  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not everyone is as ‘well travelled’ as you David.. with such an advanced sense of ‘adventure’. Some people like to get some advice from people who are like minded. It doesn’t make them any less. I don’t think you have the right to tell people they shouldn’t be travelling at all just because they have a different opinion than you.
      You go on like you’re not a foreign tourist yourself. I can guarantee that locals would laugh at the places you choose to visit but that doesn’t make you wrong.

      @@parttimetravellingfamily Interesting points. Firstly I'm traveling with my Thai GF and some Thai friends sometimes so it's unlikely Thai ppl are laughing at our choices. Not that I would care if they were. We have a car and mountain bikes and hiking and diving gear, so we get to places most tourists and vloggers don't. Don't get me wrong though, if people want to come to Thailand and lie on a beach for two weeks and go down Bangla Road, eat some street food, see a ladyboy cabaret and go home, good for them. The issue with the type of subscribers you attract is that they are often the kind of people who see something on TV or film or TH-cam (ie Game Of Thrones, LOTR, Maia Bay) and go there just to take the same silly selfies that everyone else takes. Next thing you know there are 5000 of them a day at Koh Phi Phi Le and they have to close it. Same in Europe with GoT, and my home country New Zealand with LOTR 😤 Remember 2019 when 'overtourism' was Word Of The Year? I wouldn't normally come to Thailand because it was a sh1t show before Covid with 40 million tourists, I normally go less travelled places (which I won't mention) but the reason I've been here this year is just because there was no one else here and it's been magic. That's over now, but I don't want to see it go back to what it was. Unfortunately with TH-cam and Instagram it most probably will. The same 40 million unimaginative tourists all going to the same places all trying to get the same selfie (the Christ pose **yawn**) 🙄

    I've tried watching a few your guys videos and they annoy me more each time. You talk on the negatives way to much (just take the clickbait title), and focus on yourselves more than the places you are visiting. No one cares about you, unless you have something interesting to say, which you don't.
    Thailand has had a rough time in the past couple of years but things have been improving recently, admittedly mostly from domestic tourism, and making these videos portraying the country as a dump is not helping.
    Also, wear a mask, it's the law to be wearing one in public. Just because you are making a video doesn't mean you are excluded from this, and again no cares about seeing you face. What do you think the locals think when they see you walking round without one given how seriously most are taking covid? There are plenty of (good) videos out there with presenters wearing masks and it doesn't affect the quality of the video at all. Regardless of what you think of the merits of masks, you should abide by the rules of the country you are a guest of, or go someplace else that suits you better.
    Stop trying to be internet famous, do some research on the places you are going to, learn how to structure a narrative and try to make something worth watching.
