Seeing this with full luck gear on would be nice. I only do CK each day and the acid pools with 700 full luck gear on SnS as well, bags, major trophies. I average a trophy mat every second run. Now I got lucky this last week and the four mats I got were Loaded Dice, Stacked Deck, Armorer's Journal, and Notes on Aeternum Fauna. Usually get 2-3 scarabs a day. Still though...seems worthwhile at least those two. Would be nice if they added the doubloons to all the max level content, and added Scarabs to CK Elite Chests. The major problem is that people just don't know how loot luck works. Fortunately I've been around a lot since the beginning, so I remember looking through the code as well as reading the old forum posts. It's insanely beneficial to max out your luck if you can. It literally increases the drop rate of the super rare items by around 11 times. So instead of having to roll a natural 99950 and higher (0.05% chance) to hit the trophy mat/crafting gear/scarab table, you only need to roll an amount of your luck gear (max ~58% or 5800) under that amount to hit that table. So around 94150, then the luck increases your roll by a flat amount (5800 with max luck) and that puts you in the trophy table. That increases your odds from 0.05% to 5.85%, which in statistical probability terms is absolutely massive.
Pls tell me where you got a sword with luck on it.Also, do the brimstone chests really drop trophy mats? Every post I saw mentioned lower lvl zone chests for stacked decks and loaded dice.
I do them because I'm still kind of new to the game and I get to see areas that I wouldn't normally get to see, and I've picked up quite a few artefact items along the way. I also get a lot of junk items that I just disassemble hoping for straps to turn into a little trade skill xp.
Man, I didn't realize how much i was possibly missing out on. I can definitely afford to mix a full run in once or twice a week if it's gonna be that profitable and have a shot at that much decent gear.
I always end up doing ECRs by accident every time I'll be off doing other things and see 100 people run in the area and say welp I'd be stupid not to join in for 10 mins hahaha
Elite chest runs are easy ways to find new pieces of gear. I’ll say that myrk and CK should be on your list of things to do. The elite portal caches’s you get from Myrk give insanely good gear. And the dublouns you get from CK have rolled me some really good items. If you only have a few hours a day. Make sure you do the Myrk and CK ECR’s.
Largely I do them for crafting mats, and it's generally lucrative for that purpose. I recommend it highly for leveling cooking, as things like string beans and yeast are largely found from supply crates. if you run out of ie. Flux or Sandpaper you end up with hundreds by the end of the run, which is often a massive money savings. It's important to play smart and cater to your needs as a player.
I have bought 10000's of flux at 3.5+ gold and up to 3 for sandpaper. It pains me to see them sold for 1 gold :P. But that's probably just the effect of a server where elite runs are more popular than they are on mine (anything that's not CK or myrk are done very rarely; I personally only do CK sometimes).
Ha! I'm glad I showed you something new. That one button sure does save a lot of time! And you can select to only salvage up to a certain rarity as well
I try and do myrk and CK at least a day. Myrk gets the corrupted chests also. This is just mainly for the hidden caches and sacks of coin from the corruption chests. Also I prioritize brimstone and elysian areas after those main two for the golden scarab drops. Other than that I look for region specific furnishing like from imp. Otherwise there are some important drops that you may want just a shot at instead of a farm for like smelting gear from khepri/helio and armoring gear from pools/sirens or various other stonecutting/woodworking/jewlcrafting/arcana gear from various named guys along certain ECR routs.
When you sell gear on the market you should always look up that specific piece of gear in the buy tab first to see how much that stuff is going for. If you price something at hundreds of gold or thousands of gold it probably wont ever sell and then you waste gold putting the item on the market for the fee that you can't get back. It takes longer doing this but you will be able to sell more pieces this way.
Luck chance on gear also makes a difference so you should run crap gear with that perk on each gear. Also if you salable legendary gear you get fragments which are worth 15-30 each which needs to be included
Problem for me at this time is a lack of obsidian flux! Since we can’t convert anymore, this is the fastest way to get the flux! TP is a bit expensive for the stuff, why or why did they get rid of conversion?
I believe they got rid of it for the early economy. They will bring it back in time but having the ability to convert reagants would create a more volatile economy. At least, that's my guess.
@ dumb move, full is crucial for crafting, worst part is that with a full luck set and trophies, all I’m getting from chests is solvent and sandpaper, so they greatly reduced the drop rate of flux as well, makes no sense to me, they could have helped the newbie economy in other ways. In fact I’d argue that this does not help. But it is what it is, dumb
myrk = gypsum orb material / cutlass keys = dubloons. the rest is only good if you are salvaging for scraps because you are working on armoring and such.
noticed recently get more greens and blues, with less purple and gold , using same max luck but getting far less good drops . doesnt seem worth doing them all now , hardly seeing any trophy mats .
the main thing I do chest runs for is reagents. It's not great for gold making imo, if you can farm any gathering thing for 2-3hrs you'll make more gold. Unless you get lucky trophy items, but that's the gamba.
I don't do anywhere near all them daily. I sometimes don't even do any a day. Even CK daily is overkill IMO. Most of the doubloon uses are a trap so once you're sitting on a few thousand doubloons there isn't really a need to do it every single day. Full world tours take so long. Last one i joined was because I specifically wanted to do Isle and get lifetaker but with the order they were going in I had to log off before we even got to it. also i have no idea what to do with the countless infused health potions that come from all this. They really add up and take up so much inventory weight. right now I dedicated 1 town's storage unit to just storing them lol 90% of the gear that drops is bind on pickup so getting a Bind on Equip that's also good enough to sell feels too rare to count on
I went through and just dropped all my potions the other day. They don't sell on the trading post or if they do it's for pennies. So I dropped them on the ground and let them get deleted. But I agree, ECR can be tedious and not worth it everyday. I have a good storage of doubloons because I'm hoping they come out with new stuff
I still have ptsd from when the watermark was introduced. I hate them but I always try and at least do Myrk, Cutless Keys and if I have the drive I'll do both Ebonscale elite areas
@BraidedZero As a veteran mmo gamer but never having seen a game where people run around like hamsters for loot I have a difficult time accepting this. What are your thoughts on the validity of this as a thing you do? Will I as a new NW player be able to enjoy the game, great up, do everything, if I choose to never run with the rest or focus on chests at all?
Only CK. I run about 5 ck runs a day, If I can, on days off 😂 everything else doesn't seem worth the time after you get decent gear. For new players who just got to lvl 65, sure, it's not bad to do these runs for gear.

Very good tip! I've found that some people will spam stuff like that and stay on the other side of the map though. I think they do it for the weapon experience but not positive.

It may not always sell though. The other day I had a lucky rabbit's foot and there was an active buy order for 5,200 gold on my server. I posted it for 5,500 gold instead. It didn't sell in 3 days. After it didn't sell I went to repost it and the current highest sell order was 4,800 and the highest buy order was 4,200. I went ahead and tagged the highest buy order and took my gold. If I had done it 3 days prior I would have had an extra 1,000 gold. So it's not always the best thing to do. Sometimes it's better just to take your gold instead of posting in hopes of getting more.
