I actually really love this scene. I love the pride Richard shows for his family.
Emily actually seems to understand how her daughter feels in this scene to me it mirrors how she felt when Trix offered to pay Chilton and she thought she would never see Lorelei again

@@Andain_83Thank you ❤️ Yes I agree this foreshadows so much of what happens later on especially how Rory and Lorelei’s relationship becomes for awhile with their distance.

Emily was right about adding a spa. She's usually right ahead of time. And Lorelai being her stubborn self never listens.
It's about financial manipulation. Loralie couldn't afford it and she wanted Loralie to borrow money so she can continue to force Loralie to come to Friday night dinners.

He strikes me as one of those old school republicans who understands that work is work, and that you also can cooperate with the other side.

Rory had such great potential for success! What happened?
She lost her way i think. Got comfortable with her family wealth and support, distracted by personal drama, didnt adapt with the times, stopped hustling. Although i think the a year in the life portrayal was a little unrealistic i think she wouldve had more career momentum than what was shown since she was always driven and motivated.
I know! I was sad but I also felt hopeful for Rory when Gilmore Girls ended. But then during A Year in the Life, I thought, “What happened?” 😮
I see comments like this often. I’m curious, in what way did Rory lose her way?
Too much privilege ruined her. She thought the world will bend over backwards for her like her mother, grandparents and people she met growing up.

You can see the trepidation in the actors faces about the fact the show was going to be ending soon. What an era it was! It's sweet how excited Alexa was at the time. And she's done some impressive work since then too, so it was valid!
