The amount of people who have thought they were haunted but turned out they were slowly being poisoned to death by carbon monoxide is actually astounding. Thanks to reddit when I hear haunted house stories now I think of carbon monoxide poisoning first. 😅

People always jump to that on Reddit haha! Good to check to make sure there’s no leak, but I doubt they’re all from that. I had haunting ghost experiences at a house I lived at for 4 years. The whole time I lived there, there were strange things happening. I would’ve died before we moved if it was carbon dioxide since I was also a child so easier to poison.

the organ donor story really hit home. i'm 18 now, but at 15 i had a friend die from a brain aneurysm. he was an organ donor, gave 7 organs, saved 5 lives and gave even more tissue to tons of other people. it's weirdly comforting to think that he could be watching over the people he saved.

There actually was a killer who basically confessed to his crimes on reddit. The gist of the story was, this guy and his girlfriend briefly broke up. I think they were going to get back together or something and he was visiting her place while her roommate was out. They were in the kitchen and she ended up asking if he was with anyone else while they were separated and wanted him to leave after his answer. He kept trying to hug her and she grabbed a knife from the dish rack to try to get him away. Instead of leaving, he grabbed one too and ended up killing her? Then he went on the run and posted on reddit. I think people thought he was making stuff up until news came out about a woman found dead in her apartment.

About the Dyatlov Pass hikers: the missing eyes and tongue is actually one of the least creepy parts of the story. It can easily be explained by wild animals eating the bodies. Scavenger animals, like vultures, often start with the eyes and tongue (and anus) as they are soft tissues, and eating them first gets them out of the way, making the inside of the carcass more accessible. Fun animal fact!

My great-grandmother told me and my brother that she would take care of us and would never allow any spirit to come and scare us or hurt us, she told us that not even she would come to see us so as not to scare us, I have always felt safe because of that.
She left her house to my dad and the neighbors say they listen to her but we never do. There's something so comforting about hoping she's out there taking care of us.

My father is a diagnosed Sociopath and narcissist. The danger of these words being thrown around is near horrifying to me. As I fully believe, if my father were going to die, he would take me with him. He's killed little animals like birds and chickens (he actually told me this), and I think even kittens. My rpst kept a journal of all his “work.” He forced me to read it as proof that he was fully capable of carrying out all his threats if I left him or told anyone what was happening. He had multiple failsafes like that, and was a legitimate psychopath. It’s absolutely terrifying how people easily capable of the most horrific things walk unnoticed among us; our sorority sister’s boyfriend, that guy in the front pew at church, our football player classmate. It was a big guilt point of mine for years that I wasn’t able to get that journal to the police.

I relate so much to that second story. I remember waking up and seeing a man in a loin cloth with whip marks across his skin like he was just flogged with a nine tails. He just sat at the foot of my bed smiling. We just made eye contact and had a staring contest until my eyes couldn’t stay open anymore. I did sleep at some point. I was legitimately terrified. After this moment, I was plagued with seeing and hearing various spirits for a full decade. So glad that I finally got rid of them. I still live in fear, they’ll come back.

16:50 it is part of Feng shui, but I never let mirrors face my bed. Anytime I sleep with a mirror towards my bed directly, I have the worst nightmares. Typically, it's okay if they face like the edge of your bedding or feet, but not directly at you is the recommendation.

Story 4: sage and cleansing your home works. Idc what ppl say!! I’ve lived at my home for years and randomly I started to get sleep paralysis and sometimes see this dark black figure sitting at the top of my closet like a gargoyle, with red eyes staring at me. I was sure I was not dreaming. I finally spoke with my partner about it and when I was went to talk about the dark black figure, he cut me off and described exactly what I just described to all of you. We were freaked out obviously because if we were “dreaming” how the hell did we have the same dream multiple times???? Let alone once?! I learned how to sage and cleanse my home. This is what started my spiritual journey, we have not seen it since. I still cleanse my home often, I’m not sure where it came from, something passing through or someone brought it home, but it was insane and terrifying…

I would not encourage people to sage their own homes if they themselves are not Native American and practitioners of native rituals. Basically, if you don’t practice/participate in these rituals, it will do nothing but lead to the harmful, overharvesting of white sage. Instead, you can find a practitioner who can invite you into the ritual at your home and not spread cultural appropriation any further. Native American practitioners are more likely to better conserve the white sage population of the us than for profit vendors you find in new age retailers or Etsy sellers. Appreciate, don’t appropriate.

I was always scared to be in there with the lights off because I felt like someone was watching me from my closet. A few times while laying in bed at night I felt something pull my hair and poke me on the forehead. This went on for about a year or 2 until I read about mirrors being potential portals and decided to turn the mirror around facing the wall for the night. As someone professionally diagnosed with the umbrella term parasomnia, specifically for sleep paralysis and night terrors, you don't completely get used to it. I have found ways to make it easier on myself, but it's still scary every time it occurs because you know it's not real, but you have to convince your body that it isn't.
Edit for context: I got tested when I was 14 because it was so bad that I was convinced one time that there was a man in the house. I am unfortunately one of the ones who experience visual hallucinations alongside the auditory ones. They've gotten less frequent since I moved houses, and I'm now a college student. My advice for those who suffer it as well is to wiggle your fingers and toes as much as you can. My best guess is that it triggers the body to recognize that you're awake. It works. Mostly.

You can also wear black tourmaline crystal or selenite to clear and block negative energies if you want an extra boost.

You'd be supplying your own sage and growing flowers for local pollinators😊 its also super drought tolerant and because it's native to California, it will survive the high temp, dry weather. If you’re curious to the answer to that question, read my response above. It was Dolly.

I relate to Alejandra. I’m such a vivid sleeper, and think about my dreams a lot. When I was 16-17 I use to get sleep paralysis 3-4 times a week, I noticed when I slept on my back I always ended up experiencing sleep paralysis. Im now 22 and I sleep on my stomach and haven’t gotten it in a long time. I also do believe it’s because I genuinely feel safe.

If you're having vivid dreams and sleep paralysis, please go see sleep doctor you most likely suffer from obstructive sleep disorder.

It’s more common to NOT have dreams with sleep apnea though. I have sleep apnea and as soon as it started (based on changes of how I slept told to me by others and then my diagnosis) I stopped having vivid dreams like I used to have. Also, many reputable medical sites will explain that a lack of dreams is very common with sleep apnea

@@bunnylacy2097 That makes sense considering the lack of oxygen would awaken someone briefly and prohibit a full rem cycle that's needed to dream.
However, not every sleep cycle disruption is like this. Many different signals are being sent to the body during sleep, and they might not be functioning normally.

One of these stories reminded me of when I was about 6 or 7, and I lived in a haunted house with my family. The ghosts were very active, and we all have stories of that time, but the one that I still remember as a traumatizing event happened one night when I was trying to fall asleep. I kept hearing something whispering my name, and I tried to ignore it. Well, whatever it was, did not like being ignored, and I suddenly felt something grab my shoulder and yank. I was pulled clean off my bed and into the center of the room. I jumped up and ran screaming to my parents' room and slept in their bed that night, lol.
