Camera probably fell off because you put it on the black checkered area around the rear view mirror. 3M makes very good adhesives! And didn't see you clean the windshield first?

I may have to do a BTS on that install. It fell off because I didn’t take the clear part of the electrostatic square

Good question. One other reviewer suggested it takes 13(!) seconds after impact for the camera to turn on.
