    Good tip on checking the power with the cigarette lighter chord. At the same time with the camera powered up, you can place text mount the camera while watching the screen to ensure desired coverage and avoid the rearview mirror obstruction.

    I was very impressed with your attention to detail and when you suggested first testing the camera before doing the wiring and removing the battery and before installing the fuses it was very insightful. I was hoping you might be able to answer my question about 2023 Highlander. Are the fuses for accessory and battery only affecting those areas or do these fuses somehow connect electrically to the ECM, BCM etc or is the multimeter test conclusive? If you can provide any help with this it would be very appreciated.
    Great video look forward to seeing more of your expertise.

    • @SpiritedWrenchers
      @SpiritedWrenchers  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi Paman. Thank you very much for watching and sharing the kind words. We really appreciate that. Your question is a good one. Unfortunately there aren't any fuses just for accessory or battery. Each fuse is a particular piece to the car that requires power. That's why I choose the least important fuses to tap into. I recommend never tapping anything like the ECM or air bag fuses as you never want a $300 or less accessory to be the cause of thousands of dollars of damage (such as the ECM) if something goes wrong and you certainly wouldn't want your safety devices impacted as well. I hope that helps. Stay safe out there and we appreciate you being a part of our journey!

    Great video, I’ve been looking for a dash cam for my 2020 4Runner. This looks like a great choice! How is the parking mode feature? Does it pick up people walking near your rig and give notifications? Any pros and cons on the Parking Mode features? Love your detail and work! 👍

    • @SpiritedWrenchers
      @SpiritedWrenchers  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi Adiel. Thank you very much for watching and sharing the kind words. We really appreciate it. In regards to the parking mode, it's a function that we don't actually have turned on. The 4Runner isn't taken out as a daily driver much and because of that I felt with it parked for days/weeks at a time, it wasn't necessary to have running all the time. Wish I could provide more context for you though. It truly is a great unit and we even used it to capture footage for our overlanding trips. Stay safe out there!

    Great video! I'll be installing the Vantrue N4 Pro soon into my '21 TRD Pro, so this was especially helpful. I do have a question on the hardwiring. I had seen another video where they used the Vantrue OBD Hardwire Charger Cable 10ft Type C USB OBD Cable. Does this work just as well, are there drawbacks? Or is it best to use the Vantrue Hardwire Kit you used. Thanks so much for your input, appreciate it.

      Hi Karen. Thank you very much for watching and sharing the kind words. We really appreciate it. Congrats on the your '21 TRD and getting the N4 Pro. Although I'm not familiar with the OBD kit they sell, I would imagine it works just as well. We currently have the Pedal Commander plugged into our OBD port so we had to go the other hardwire route. Hope that helps. Stay safe out there !

    Thank you for doing this video...I have a question for you:
    I don't want to assume, but it looks like you live in a rural area, but maybe you just have a decent amount of property...That's irrelevant...
    My question is, how do you feel about there being no cloud and therefore, you having to be within 6 feet of the vehicle to connect and get footage from the device? Is that a problem for you or no?

    • @SpiritedWrenchers
      @SpiritedWrenchers  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi SoulSafeProductionZ. Thank you for watching and sharing the question and kind words. We do appreciate it. Yes, you assumed correctly. We have land out in rural area. For my purpose with it, I'm not concerned with not having a cloud as I can easily get it off the device if needed. I know others may have a different need than ours so it's a fair question depending on where you have it and the importance of cloud storage. Hope that helps. Stay safe out there!

    How in the heck did you run your power and backup camera wire through that sliding cord collection box behind the rearview? Did you have to cut it to fit the wires?

    • @SpiritedWrenchers
      @SpiritedWrenchers  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi LuckyLui. Thanks for watching and asking. We appreciate it. No wires were cut. We could only fit under the cover, but the other is squeezed in tight to it, so it's not falling out. If you'd like to send us an email, I can send you pics of how ours looks.

      Hi Bushwacker. Thanks for watching and asking. We appreciate it. The wifi is only for you to connect your phone to the dashcam itself. Not for actual internet connection. It's just like connecting via Bluetooth. You would link the camera and phone through wifi setup. Hope that helps.

    Unfortunately, the N4 Pro doesn’t have TRUE 4K recording from the front camera. It’s “4K.” It’s 2K recording that’s been artificially stretched to appear 4K and when it’s recording “4K” the interior and rear facing camera don’t record. So you might as well choose the option in settings doesn’t record in “4K”

      Hi Llama, thank you very much for watching and sharing. We appreciate you. I agree on the prices. They can certainly get up there.
