That fight scene between Trevor and Death is BEYOND beautiful. It was a masterpiece work of art, fit to hang alongside the best boss fights in all of anime. I watched that specific sequence probably 5 or 6 times in a row when season 4 dropped; I couldn't get over it.
I couldn’t agree more. Being a hardcore fan of the game this fight brought tears of joy to my eyes. The music, the dialogue, the animation was a beautiful combination and a love letter to the boss fights from the game.
@@Coyote_Bongwater69Well the dagger basically was a "hey god mind doing something?" Button so it Kinda Made Sense(Not a Lot But a Bit) and it was epic as hell
i dont remember death being a minion of walter, lament of innocence plot twist was that death was mathias servant all along since he serves who wields the crimson stone. death is a manifestation of chaos and serves the dark lord who soul is twisted with chaos, thats the reason why dracula cannot be killed in the games. well that changed in the 1999 demon castle wars 35 years before aria of sorrow, where julius belmont and other allies finally separates the soul of dracula from the castle and making the cycle stop making julius the belmont that fullfiled leons oath to beat mathias.
Death reminds me of Selene from Marvel. She’s a “psychic Vampire” that devours souls. She even became a Goddess at one point when she consumed enough souls. Soooo cooooool.
I'm still convinced it was Death who orchestrated the execution of Lisa. Throughout the series there is mention of an old woman, boiled nettles and entrails using foot fungus to heal Mrs. Juvara who possibly may also have been Death in disguise. Then we have the woman in the infinite corridor manipulating St Germain. The fact that he was voiced by Malcolm McDowell leaves me all the more frustrated that I didn't figure it all out considering ihs subtle confession mid-season. Yarbles, Varney.
There was two other people on that series on Netflix that I thought death was impersonating. There was the old blind guy in the market that gave Isaac the mirror. And that older lady that had power that he met in that village that directed him towards the guy that was controlling all those people that had the big mirror.
Both the video games and the animated series took an interest approach to Death. That although he is virtually immortal he can be harmed by powerful magical weapons. He can therefore be killed; which is very ironic. But he has the ability to greatly disguise himself. It’s not known if Trevor truly killed or just banished him. So I wonder if he will return in Nocturne….as well as Dracula.
To be fair, in Death's case you can just construe it as his physical form being banished and takes time to reform or be summoned back like with Dracula rather than him actually dying since we never hear about the concept of death getting messed up after he's beaten in the games. Him actually just being an elemental of death rather than the literal personification of death like the show went for probably actually makes the most sense with how we see him in the games. Sadly, I don't think we'll ever see him or Dracula again in the show. Dracula is basically a "good guy" now as of the last time we saw him (horrible decision on the writing team's part), and due to the show's take on Death he's most likely destroyed for good. Now we're stuck with the completely original (and terrible) villains presented in Nocturne or (in the case of Orlox) just completely bastardized versions of what we already had. The only good thing about Nocturne was Richter and Maria looking like their actual characters, but that's not much of a consolation prize. Damn thing didn't even have any Castlevania enemies or references in it.
I do find myself partially agreeing with you. While I expected them to take liberties and make changes from the original source material; making Dracula too sympathetic to the point he was no longer the main villain the series is just something long-time fans can’t overlook. Some do embrace it as s chance to retell the story: I on the other hand do not. Dracula is just as big a part of Castlevania as the Belmonts!
While Lords of Shadow was an alternate universe. When I saw the reveal of Death, I realized that, “That Makes a Lot of Sense!” Of course he had all those clues that he left me with.

It was great but, a human killing Death is just ridiculous.
@Coyote_Bongwater69 castelvania was realistic until that happened

Yes. The first and most powerful of all vamps
You should do a origin of Carmilla.
How is death not the final boss vs Dracula? Love dracula being final boss but just saying the character as a whole
