Also have to think about what colors are coming into the house from the outside environment. For example a lot of green can change the colors inside. Same with a house nextdoor being a certain color can also reflect in. Noticed for example that BM Gray Owl has a blue or green undertone depending on what was in my outside environment. 😮
Yes, I agree with you guys! A few years ago I wanted my daughter’s nursery bright white, I went with pure white from SW and hated it! It was too cool and it looked blue instead of white. I made my husband change it immediately😂
I’ve just painted samples of farrow and ball All white (it’s a pure white) but it makes everything else look dirty as it’s so bright. I’ve painted swatches of Farrow and ball all white, Wimborne white, slipper satin and the walls are currently a cream so it’s a nightmare I can’t choose now. My house is small and quite dark not much natural light. Confused now
So glad I found this video. We are in the middle of choosing a white for our first floor and it has been stressful. Way too many choices! Thanks for the advice! I really enjoyed the beautiful rooms you shared!
What white would you recommend for a small 3 bedroom house that is quite dark. We are putting extra lighting in. Please help 🙏🏻. I don’t want yellow but also don’t want cool
This was great! I tried several months ago a number of samples on my walls and they looked good on other peoples walls but not mine. I decided to stick with the Kilm Beige i have on my walls till I decide to try some samples again. I have a small house - not too many windows and dark stained hardwood floors. Thanks!
I have a small house with only 3 windows and a slider and dark floor. I went with Chantilly Lace. Its from benjamin moore or sherwin williams i forgot which one but had it matched for Behr
Thank you so much for this video! I just found you because of your video I stumbled on with your old house. We are slowly renovating my husband’s childhood home that his parents built in 1965. I have been going absolutely crazy regarding white paint. I just finished painting my bathroom in Alabaster and yep it looks yellow. I definitely am going to have to get samples because our house has very little natural light and I love the creamy whites and don’t want an undertone!
Great video ladies and helpful ,lots of great tips as the whites can be so tricky and deceiving . Love your channel, and I love to see how it’s growing….😊
Great video! I am dealing with this very issue 😢. EVERY white or off-white looks yellow in my bedroom, which is west facing. Any suggestions? I'm looking for "light and airy." Alabaster is too yellow, I have 2 windows I the room. TIA
Mine too. In fact, we just had our living room, dining room, kitchen, family room, hallways and stairwell painted Chantilly Lace as part of a massive remodel we had done.
I have always wanted to know the color, in Jessica’s house….The Old Barn House” But I really really want to know, what color did she paint her sideboard, in her dining room?? Is there anyway I could find that out?🥰 I want to paint mine that exact color and the walls her same color. I would appreciate any help with that!!! I love you guys so much!! You are the cutest duo on TH-cam. It makes me miss my mom watching you guys… but at the same time, makes me so happy for you two!! Enjoy every moment together. God Bless🙏 ~Gina💙
I love BM Navajo White (NW). Loved it in my last house with wood trim. New house trim is Chantilly Lace and will be painting again using BM Navajo White to cover dreadful mustardy-gold color with olive green undertones the previous owners used. Can’t wait to see NW gracing my walls again!
I loved what you had to say about whites I’m doing exterior Black roof Black door Too many double /pain glass windows w/white pains in between. Want: Warm off white body W/white trim around windows (because of white pains) What do you suggest?
I loved this video.. What color do you suggest for trim. If painting one of the off white walls. Do, you suggest the same color as the wall? Also, i have golden oak wood floors. So, I am trying to get away from the yellow if possible. So suggestion on paint and trim? what sheen do you choose for trim, cabinets, and wall. sorry for so many questions.. best video ... thank you
Responding to an old post but in case others are interested… with white you can go up one or two sheen levels and you won’t be able to tell. I personally don’t like flat, and I’ll never paint anything but a ceiling with flat again, but with white walls I was able to go with Satin and I only see the shine briefly, when the sun hits it just right through a 15’ high window - and even then it looks good.
I had Alabaster but felt slightly colorless and slightly yellow. Changed to BM edgecomb gray but it felt too beige to me. Went to pure white but just too boring and flat for me. Im going w eider white next so hopefully this will be the one. 🤞🏼 btw listen to this ladies ideas about testing the colors first or else you’ll end up like me 🤕
I am at my witts end about trying to make a switch from my dark antique furniture and old southern colors. I want that farmhouse type look with a lighter airy feel but have bought 25 or more paint samples and painted on the oracal sticky back paper. I had painted my antique dining set in B/M chantilly lace leaving the tops and legs on the hutch and china cabinet unpainted wood. I thought this was a great start but once I started with paint sample pieces on my dining walls everything looked too yellow or would go to a greyish look or just a grungy look at different angles or at night or in the morning. I have 2 large windows and 2 french doors onto a back porch facing S/E. My problem is the porch although it's white it blocks the light. I have no can or recessed lighting. I gave up and stated painting half the wall with simply white and OMG it is stark white, no yellow tone to be seen at all. How can this be? I love that very light creamy white but I think I will have to throw in the towel on this. All the thousands of pics I look at have special lighting set up in the room to really brighten it and equalize the room. I have no idea how to solve my problem. I guess to get any of these looks you have to have the lights in your home to get it. Any ideas would be appreciated.....
You can leave your wood furniture in their natural state and just decorate around it in whites like White Dove and using light colored fabrics and light colored accessories such as vases, lamps, baskets etc.
I know this is such a late response as I just now saw your comment and am in the same predicament, buying tons of samples, seeing too much yellow to too stark white it pulls blue - ugh! I finally decided on good old Swiss Coffee by Valspar at Lowes. I was previously turned off by Swiss Coffee by Behr, Sherwin Williams, Dunn Edwards, Benjamin Moore because first of all, they were all different and all had hits of that dreaded yellow undertone and to me yellow undertones makes walls look dingy and old or dirty, but I was pleasantly surprised with Lowes Valspar! It's a very soft creamy white not too stark and no yellow. I do see just a hint, so little but a hint of a soft grey but only at night -it's better than the ugly yellow. I LOVE IT. My other huge concern was that I have all Ikea white furniture and it's so hard to get the white walls correct with white furniture. Valspar Swiss Coffee is a slightly darker white that makes the white Ikea furniture look bright and still stand out some
Nice! Your videos should be seen by more watchers. May I repost your channel without changing anything on the clean platform named Ganjing World? Thank you!
Young lady, I hope that by now you've put that shirt in the bin. It looks very unprofessional and I couldn't pay attention to anything you were saying.

Who knew the hundreds of shades of white could be so tricky. You ladies make choosing the perfect color seem so simple. Great video!
It’s a nightmare as I don’t want yellow or cool or magnolia looking

I Love BM Chantilly Lace for trim. And I also love BM White Dove. ❤
Our first floor was just repainted in Chantilly Lace and I am loving it!

Pure White from Benjamin Moore also leans blue
This happened to me with sherwin Williams extra white 😂.. I still haven’t changed it

Great video! One question...are you painting the trim the same white color or how do you choose that after finding the perfect wall color. Thank you!

You're so welcome! Putting samples on the wall will give you the perfect creamy white! I'm glad you only painted the bathroom before the whole house 💕

thank you for this video very helpful! Would you recommend different whites for different rooms or is it best to stay cohesive throughout?
Great inspiration homes. Thank you. I love all the lighting fixtures I saw too, as I'm shopping for a new build. Great job!

Hi,
What Paint Finish Is Most Popular?
Ty, Rosie
Thanks for sharing your tips on whites - very timely for me!
Awsome information reg white color thank you! Going through getting ready u can’t just buy I hear you!!
Hi! Can you give me a recommendation on a white for a house with little to no windows. I don’t want beige or gray but not too much yellow
This is what I need. What did you chose in the end ?
I loved what you had to say about whites
I’m doing exterior
Black roof
Black door
Too many double /pain glass windows w/white pains in between.
Want:
Warm off white body
W/white trim around windows (because of white pains)

Great video. Do you use the same color used on the walls for your trim work and cabinets ?
I rewatched and you answered my question in the video.
What brand of LED light bulbs do you recommend? Thanks
When you paint the entire room pure white what sheen do you use?

SW has Snowbound listed as a cool white, but it seems warmer or neutral to me.
Good morning what paint for exterior if your home is on the light browns
Love the yellow sweater

Hi what is your Moms floor with her Alabaster walls and Pure White Cabinets? Thank you!
Great tips!
Thank you for the tips
What about trim? Same as the walls?
You can use the same color or go lighter or darker. It’s just a preference. We’ve done it both ways 😊

What white with blush that doesn’t look orange? Heeeellpp!?!
Sherwin Williams Marshmallow has a slightly blush undertone!
NO HELP AT ALL.
They provided paint colors, pictures, and comments about undertones. What’s your problem?
Young lady, I hope that by now you've put that shirt in the bin. It looks very unprofessional and I couldn't pay attention to anything you were saying.
That’s nonsense. She looks fine. It’s called “Farmhouse Living” - not “High Society Living.”
😂😂😂
@Encourageable "Farmhouse Living" does not equal "Slovenly Living," especially when one is talking to an audience.
