Thanks. Looking forward to wear this weekend in the Indiana rifle opener. Have a strong cold front coming through. Enjoy your product design and not forgetting about the big guys that hunt.
For the comments about the noisy down: The down jacket is designed to be packed out to the stand. Put it on when you arrive. It's not meant to be active wear, so the noise isn't a factor. It's part of a layering system. The sound shouldn't matter since you are sitting still.
I get that and that is what I do when using the down when whitetail hunting. Also guys want to know about fabric noise so I am pointing it out. Thanks for watching
@@Designhunter9125If you’re bow hunting from a stand and it’s still, any whitetail inside 30 yards will hear that jacket when drawing your bow. I do like the high wasted pants though. Keeps the cold wind out of your crack. 😁
I have been wearing the attack jacket the past couple of years and it’s not bulky and it’s comfortable from early morning to late into the evening. I hunt the mountain west states for antelope, elk, deer and also hogs. Weather conditions can be extreme. My hunting partners have turned to Kuiu versus other brands. I have Been hesitant to purchase a complete set. However, layering has always worked for me during 68 years of hunting. It’s time to treat myself to some light durable hunting clothes. Kuiu looks to meet that requirement.
Really interested in this system I have there down jacket, really did not think much about the noise, when I decided on it. Love there gear wear attack pants for early and mid season, also love there mid layer hoodie. My only complaint on Kuiu is the zippers seam cheap. Just wish they were heavier duty. Will continue watching your review then think about how to purchase for next season.
Have you hunted in this yet? what are your updated thoughts after wearing them? Also, how do you like the camo pattern vs where you're hunting? Verde is great while its green out, but not sure how well it would work once leaves start dropping in the midwest. Love to hear your thoughts
We have had a warm several last few weeks so I have not worn. I have been hunting in verde for the last 6 years and have not been seen. I also don’t skyline myself. I think it is more about the pattern and contrast rather than the color. I always think that back in the day there was a lot of jeans and red flannel that harvested a lot of animals lol.
You said you have other kuiu jackets, how does the size and fit compare to this one? I have an axis jacket that is 3x and it fits well(6'1" and 250). Just picked up a gale force in 3x and it is ENORMOUS and also a bit "noisy" when moving. Want to return it and maybe pick up a proximity but no idea on size i should order. Thanks in advance
I am 6-1 295. But pretty broad through the shoulder…. the axis jacket 3x fits me well with not a lot of extra loose material. This is sized a bit bigger as a true outer layer you might be able to go 2x but not sure if there would be a difference in the arms length.
Jacket looks great, great fit. But the bibs look pretty tight on you and almost uncomfortable. Why don't they make larger sizes? I've have kuiu gear and it all runs small in size. Thanks for the review!
Sir after 11 months having that Kuiu clothing what do you think? How is the performance in the cold weather - freezing . For a few months I’m looking to buy something good because everything what I have now is garbage. Standing in the Treestand get pretty cold.
I enjoy it personally it is a bit more active performance minded as it is made by people that know western style hunting. I have not tried Sitka but that also have some great stuff and have friends that like Sitka. It is all an investment and you will have to achieve a sold cold performance with layered products no matter the system. I would say look at the camo pattern that fits your environment and choose the manufacturer that way. Because I hunt both in the east and the west I would still pick Kuiu. If I was just hunting stands in the east I may be more prone to consider stika as they have been in the game longer specifically in those environments.
Awesome to see a real size Canadian body size not the skinny models and sheep hunters, not too many skinny Jean guys hunting here in Alberta looks like a Good fit on you, gives me confidence to order a set, be interesting to you know how cold you can comfortably use it in
I know with the down I can easily get into the single digits. I’ll be curious too. My body doesn’t really get cold. It’s the toes. I am adding some heated soles to my boots this year to try.
Thanks for posting. I am really close in size to you. How is the sleeve length? I typically need a 2xl tall to have sleeves that go to my wrist not my forearm.
Has anybody wore this hunting yet I live in a place with cockaburs and snow, just wanted to know how it held up and if it torn when walking through brushes
Plenty of burns where I hunt and didn’t seem to be a problem. Also wore in a wet snow and just needed to flick off the melted snow here and there. All was good
How do you think this would compare to something like Sitkas Fanatic or First Lites Sanctuary lines? Pretty comparable warmth wise? Really digging the KUIU design. Great review.
I really don’t have experience with the other brands. Have been pretty happy with the value and quality of the Kuiu products I keep purchasing from them. I will say that as far as white tail stand hunting Sitka probably has the lead in innovative ideas.
Way warmer than the axis. This is on par with their down puffys I would guess that you would do a base, mid layer (like fleece) and this as outer. You could wear over axis but think that axis is too heavy for a mid layer. But fit wise you could.
You're the man. I'm 6 foot 275-285 and no buddy is every testing gear in my size. Awesome.
Glad I could be that full figured model for ya 🤪
Nice job describing this new line of clothing - I’m on the notification list for the 4x
Oh man, what a godsend finding a dude your size testing KUIU. 6’5” 285ish and this was incredibly helpful. Cheers
lol. Happy to help
Nice review! We appreciate the authenticity.

😂butterfly tattoos… you did it with a straight face😂 love it. Awsome review.
Appreciate your thoughts on the product. Clarifies a few of my concerns. The best to you on your hunts!

I have really enjoyed the Kuiu system. They also always are innovating new product moving the industry forward. Don’t think you will be disappointed.
I bought the jacket but didn’t pull the trigger on the pants yet.
yeah big guys.. I'm only 6', 220 and go XXL with both sitka and KUIU gear. I like the extra roominess.

Thanks for taking the time to listen. I had one attack pant zipper fail but for $15 had a seamstress fix.

I'm 6'1 235. I where 3xl in axis . I bought proximity in 2xl and it fits perfect. It has room to layer under it but not too big when wore alone.
Looking sweeeeeet
For clarification, is this the Proximity LT, or the fully insulated jacket? I'm trying to decide between the two.
This was the original release fully insulated jacket.
Kuiu have since changed the suspender hooks. 👍🏽
That is great to hear!!! Hope they are improved.

I try to not over size hunting clothing as i often have a long walk in to the stand. But yes I am at the top end of their sizes.
Haha! Butterfly tattoo - good one.
Thanks for listening to my rambles..lol hope this was helpful

@@Designhunter9125 thank you for your time😊kuiu its in my mind 😁but I think Sitka will help me out there in the woods .

Really good length. I have a 6’10 wingspan so guess you will be fine

It does not compare to the Fanatic for warmth IMO. I run Hot though. Not sure about first lite don't use there stuff.
How’s the warmth of this set compared to the axis? Worth adding this set on top of an axis set?
Way warmer than the axis. This is on par with their down puffys I would guess that you would do a base, mid layer (like fleece) and this as outer. You could wear over axis but think that axis is too heavy for a mid layer. But fit wise you could.
@@Designhunter9125 awesome, I have a set on order now!
Any updates on warmth? As well as overall impressions. Thx
I will be posting an update video shortly on the warmth as well as my opinion on the hurdles with the suspenders connectors challenges.
Looks good. If they would only get some jackets back in stock....
Yeah their manufacturer schedule leaves some pretty good gaps in inventory. But they make some quality stuff!
Thx for posting. Also make sure you don’t store that down jacket stuffed in its sack.
Only goes in there in hunting season. Thanks for the reminder!
Noisy super down sounds like tin foil
is it me of this jacket is really noisy?
It is a bit but for sitting in the stand it is good to go
