Number 6 they always pull up to the right lane vehicle expecting them to slow up. Right lane drivers don't have to slow up for left lane drivers. If you are jumping in that left lane they are going too slow for you so you shouldn't need help passing the truck. Plus who feels like slowing down every single time another truck pulls up? They never even check to see how fast right lane drivers are going they just jump in left lane and assume that they are going to slow up for them and that is not right at all.

And when you move over to let someone on the freeway as a courtesy and then they block you from moving back over and you're stuck in the passing lane. I'm not doing 85 to get up ahead again and getting a ticket. More and more these days I just shrug and keep going. Let them get on the road after I go by. And sometimes you can't. They blast on the road even though you're already there!

But when you run into a jerk like the red truck and you've got traffic behind you, you need to give it up, slow down, drop behind him and wait for another chance. Yeah, you have to slow down. But having a tantrum and staying along side him gets you exactly nowhere and angers others some of which may may make bad crash causing decisions. Safety is way more important than you having to slow down for a minute.

I am the daughter and sister of truck drivers (tankers). My dad drove for 4 decades and died of cancer in 1998 and my brother drove for about 15 years and died of a heart problem in 1999. Neither of them would recognize the trucking industry today. There is so much road rage and lack of professionalism, it blows my mind. Not to say that it didn't exist when my dad and brother were alive, but it was much less prevalent--and that isn't just because there were no dash cams. We always heard about the wild stuff they saw or experienced when either got home, but it's just a different world now. I guess like everything else.

    • @rastus666

So many truck drivers today are not truckers, they are frigging animals behind the wheels of big trucks. Stop at any on or off ramp on a major truck route that has room for a truck to park, and what do you find? Mounds of trash and piss bottles. I-40 out west is a good example. Every truck stop, rest area, and truck parking area I have been at has trash cans or dumpsters. Frigging animals, I say!

The new drivers realize they aren't making any money and either get into a predatory lease or leave the career because there's too many drivers.

As a truck driver in Australia this type of driving is rare, it's incredibly frustrating when others on the road lack consideration. Whether it's a fellow trucker cutting you off or a car driver overtaking only to slow down, these actions can make an already tough job even harder and more dangerous. Despite these challenges, moments of road camaraderie-like a helpful signal or a friendly wave-can make all the difference and remind us of the positive side of our work.

We don't have to slow or change lanes to let you on and in most cases that is more dangerous for a semi to do. Yield is self explanatory, you are to tap the brakes and look back whether traffic is coming or not This INCLUDES SEMI DRIVERS (since your not professional) & don't know the law At 9:39 YOU blew right through a Yield sign your fault NOT his

Well I can't speak for other drivers, but I can speak for myself. I sometimes find it VERY difficult to get 4 wheelers to let me into the left lane to pass a slower truck. Knowing this, when I DO finally get into the left lane, I'm going to make damn sure there isn't ANOTHER slow truck up ahead that I'll get stuck behind for miles because nobody will let me over again. So stop driving like a twerp and let truck drivers pass other vehicles and then they'll be less likely to camp out for miles when they finally get to see the left lane.

    You know what ?
Here in Europe when passing or being passed by trucks on multi lane roads we flash our indicators alternate sides to let the passing vehicle know its safe for him to pull in to the lower lane he normally then repeats the same signal to say thanks.
that's just respect for other road users

When watching these with my Nibblings I always tell them; “it doesn’t matter who is right or wrong, the Semi ALWAYS wins” I love that enjoy dash cam videos, as they are learning so much about driving before they even drive.

Nobody ever accused the average American driver of being smart or competent. 46000 deaths/yr says it all.
