I do love those roads that have trees making semi archways over the road. The small villages and tight roads are cool too. As an American it is nice to see memorials. I hope everything is going well for you.

Sometimes when I hear European politicians wanting Americans out of there countries I wonder if they I'll send the dead back too. Sorry but I've visited several of the cemeteries and it is staggering to me how those who died there seem to be forgotten.

It's a pity tech gremlins tried to put a spanner in the works but where there's a will there's a way. My son passed his CBT today after a long wait ( had to get his passport first to use as id for his provisional), now he just needs to sort out insurance for his KTM Duke 125 then the fun can begin 😁😊

Some lovely places on route, SB. A little further south from Beesands is Hallsands the old village of which was partly washed away by storms in 1917 thanks to dredging operations by the Admiralty in the late 1800’s to early 1900’s. When next in the Totnes area with Twinks pop into Berry Pomeroy castle (difficult to find) which is supposedly one of the most haunted buildings in the UK.

Hi, SB’s. Slapton was the analogue for Utah Beach, the west most invasion beach assaulted by the US forces. Saunton was used as the training area for Omaha. If you have been/get to Normandy, you can see the similarities.

It might be a bikers myth, but I was told many years ago that the Americans buried lots of Harleys before they left for France. The water on the inland side of the road is a nature reserve.
@christinelee9857 There's a similar story attached to Braunton Burrows ( near Saunton Sands in North Devon) I've heard the story so many times from old timers about how they bulldozed huge pits and buried Jeeps,Bikes and Munitions etc but no one can actually point to the spot! 🙂
