No one new is going to win these. It's all just top-tier Decks. Pokemon TCG doesn't regulate their meta. You either play one Deck or you play a Deck that counters it. It took TCG all the way since Phantom Force's release to finally get rid of Night March only to have worse Decks take its place. -Thanks to Pumpkaboo and Joltic being gone, Mewtwo-Y and Yvetal-EX Spam Decks are now top tier again, with the inclusion of Mew-EX. -Thanks to Startling Megaphone AND Xerosic being Expanded, Standard players have absolutely NO way to counter Garbador's Ability other than wasting a Lysandre. -The only way to Item Lock your opponents now would be Vileplume-Vespiquen, but even that Deck isn't as consistant as Volcanion. -Don't get me started on Talonflame either. That needs to be a completely banned card alltogether. Literally, the TCG is far worse than it has ever been with Night March gone.

I've had a lot of fun with mega scizor and although it's slow, primal Groudon isn't bad either. Mega ray is also a viable deck. Xerneas break along with other fairy types is good as is rainbow road xerneas. Greninja isn't bad either as well as darkrai giratina. Yveltal EX isn't even the best Yveltal, imo the fright night one is much better. Regardless of what the format is, there will always be annoying META decks. What wins world championship is usually an original deck that no one expected. Originality is still rewarded so don't feel discouraged. We also just started the format. There are so many cards that will have an effect on the META that we haven't seen yet.
Well, I actually want to play with pokemon I like. Like that Charizard from generations or the Zoroark and Weavile. But it looks like EX decks kill everything

The players can't hear the audience or the commentators, that's why they wear the headsets. To talk to each other an the judges an to block out the crowd/commentary :) Not sure how Poker works though.
Would someone please adress the reason behind the infamous tcg tournament rule, "only cards issued in the newest sets are eligible for tournament play" whats wrong with using old cards?
Well, I don't complain. The reasoning behind it is that, if they allowed old cards, all the competitions would be too repetitive. At least with that rule, you get a Night March deck for a couple of years, and then they'll move to any other strategy. Reason why Mega-Audino EX won a championship is because of this rule, since there's waaaaay too many ways to break that deck using old deck strategies. Same goes for Wailord EX, which could have been destroyed using a gallade/darkrai ex/mewtwo deck (altho, generations did made Mewtwo decks possible again). It's like that.

Night March actually requires a fair bit of skill. I've played against Night March users that had no idea what they should have been doing and beat them easily.
the expanded format is so ugly right now, nothing but Seismitoad /Trevenant item lock and Night March imba damage. I hope after Sun and Moon, the Standard format remains as diverse and balanced as it is now.
Man I know Night March is dominant rn, but I'm honestly just so glad to see a deck that isn't ex-spam win.
