Protest prior to the rework was an easy B, maybe even closer to A. It's easy to dismiss a range buff as useless (as most people seemingly do) but unlike outcry or bugle/drummer, it has no alternatives that can perform a similar function to what it does. While outcry isn't very effective when buffing supports, protest isn't very effective in buffing melees, though not quite as ineffective as the previous example. When paired with units like stunner/prankster, soccer, lil exec, the increased range can make a huge difference such as the early frozen legion levels which this combo carried on 2-3 star tumore. Now sure, both units are definitely more situational post-rework, but this combo can still work even with the increased price as you can use it to buff backliners with even longer range and the decreased attack speed can be mostly mitigated with exec's overclock. Unfortunately due to the rework, I would say both units aren't quite as good anymore (especially protest) but not to the point where they are two tiers apart.
Mafia Krip's main use nowadays is for it's range, typically when the stage has AOE units that might hit Krip given his short range. Sure, stuff like Drafted might be cheaper, but the Anti-Red can be helpful in some situations, and ofc theres the whole gachaless side.
regen is pretty damn good in chapter 3 considering he can stall without getting cheesed by outlaw or setting off penny, gravity is a really nice unit to have, you can say hes a more tanky battler but he has way more survivability, making him very good at stacking (like brigand when also bringing battler)
Mafia Krip has way more survivability than Krip, honestly carries in 1 star chapter 2. He is good if you don’t want Krip to die easy, Sad that you put it lower then Krip.

I’d say lil death is a C cuz he sacrifices near by allies but if he does that he will be way better
