So much so that for 24 years I lived in a slum, four years in a village in bare minimum resources, and not just that I learned Spanish for 7 years just to go to South America and help the people suffering there. When I finally got the opportunity to go there, someone asked me why do you want to serve some other countries when there is so much poverty, hunger, corruption and illiteracy in your own country. It was then I joined an NGO and taught the poor for free in a slum in New Delhi. I know it's nothing to what Solomon Vandy and his family underwent, yet I tried to fulfill my share of duties

When it comes down to the movie, it was an heartwrenching experience and it allowed me to look at my continent in a deeper extent. Acting wise, this is undoubtfully Leo's greatest performance. He gave to Danny Archer a depth and humanity through his cunning, deceitful and downright evil ways which has yet to be topped. Many will say that The Wolf and Once Upon were his best and yes, they are amongst, but with this movie, Leo really showed a grit and strength that was before that, unbeknownst to him.
The music takes you right there in the country, continent - a saga of what all happened in Sierra Leone, Liberia and countries around - all time favourite themes
