This brings me back to the days when I played this with my brother. We recently bought it again and it literally brought tears to my eyes playing it after so many years. This game is a hidden gem and needs to be more popular. ❤
Michel Ancel recently announced his retirement to pursue his passion in wildlife preservation. His love for nature was obvious in Rayman and (most clearly) in BG&E. I've enjoyed every game he has made, and I am saddened that he won't be making another. Even so, I wish Ancel the very best. Thank you, mon ami.
This actually makes me happy. After giving us masterpieces he decided to pursue his passion. Now we don't have to wait for a butchered sequel by Ubisoft of his work :)
say WHAT!? That means we'll never have a BG&E2 game developed by him as the director. That's good and sad news all at the same time. Glad he's finding his peace in the wildlife area. It all make sense now on why BG&E had such a strong connection to wildlife and animals. The picture takings in BG&E was just a passion that Ancel wanted to share to the fans. Hope he'll one day reconsider on returning to video games.
This is one of the saddest songs I've ever heard. There is something nostalgic about this tune - and I don't mean nostalgia for this game - what I mean is the nostalgia for your past... for your bright, younger days. This song highlights the fact that this blissful, innocent state of mind of your younger self is long gone and captures the painful sadness of this realization - the devastating awareness that those memories... those feelings... are just distant echos from the time to which you'll never be able to go back to... that you'll never be able to *feel* the way you could, ever again. I know that this is a very specific emotion, but this is the way I feel while listening to this song.
+GeorgGreat We may not be able to feel exactly that way again as you did in childhood, but I can assure you that you ignite that child-like sense of wonder at anytime in your life again if you give it enough sunlight.
+GeorgGreat There is a painful sadness, to be sure, but I see the song as more hopeful than that. Sure, you've gotten older and wiser, and you've lost your youthful innocence, but that's no reason to look at the world as a hopeless place. You have the knowledge and resources to make your life what you want it to be, to create your own adventures, just like Jade, Pey'j and Double H riding along in that little beat-up old hovercraft. You have the wisdom to see things as more than simply "pretty" or "cool", as you would have as a child; instead, you now have the wisdom to ponder the mysteries of the universe and see the beauty in life in a way that no child would ever be able to fathom. The adventure will continue with or without you. It's your choice to participate in it or not.
So many people saying this music is sad. I find it to be so uplifting and happy. So full of striving, towards something. Beautiful, serene, and hopeful. That's what I hear.

This is a true game! It's original! Not to mention the atmosphere, characters, design, ambiance, MUSIC, and most important of all, the gameplay, they're all fantastic! The truth is people don't know what they want in a game, because a game should be a game! Out of everything all we can receive is survival horror, Shooters, and Sports games, which can really seem like simulations NOT games! Reboots can be good only if appropriate. But games like this are grand and should not be underrated!
I say that in this game the most beautifuel thing is the fact that there is everything you want in game :atmosphere, races, dark topics, love and everything that makes this a marvelous video game not to mention that is my favorite game in all time
very nostalgic it makes me remember my dad a lot R.I.P i only remember a little bit of him bc he died when i was younger but he loved the game so much then we all started playing this game.
one of this rare gem where the gameplay, the music, the design, the scenario all serve a purpose, mixing beautiful things together to offer us what a movie or a book can't do: living a multiple hours adventure coupling our imagination and actual feats
It was in development hell until there was a rumour that it was a launch title for Nintendo's new console the NX until Ubisoft got it taken down Immediately which in most cases means it's true. More info was revealed saying that Nintendo funded it as it was in development hell and is now coming out next year...its name is: Beyond Good And Evil: Prejudices of Philosophers!!!! XD
Everytime I hear this song I could cry. This song reminds me to all the hours and hours of fun and sadness Until today it's still one of my favorite games
I love slowing the hovercraft down and barely feathering the control so I'm moving forward as slowly as possible on this part. If you time it right, the string section starts when you reach the scorpion fish jumping :)
No current gen game can even touch the sheer amount of creativity and thought that was put into the creation process of this master piece. BG&E2, I still await your release...
Sorry to say but since the director of the first game retired I doubt we will ever see a sequel again. But a positive light is that this game can forever stay in our minds as an untainted, rarely known game that wasnt tainted by a bad sequel.

This game is perfect, will be my favorite forever. And the soundtrack... Pure, majestic, beautiful, soothing, magic, unique. Beyond Good and Evil is such a masterpiece ♡
@@jankjason I understand. It's a pity because I think the game is wonderful the way it is. I wouldn't change anything because it marked me much in childhood. Definitely one of my favorite games ever

Listening to this song is relaxing, and also glad we are getting a 20th anniversary version, which may or may not be a remake or remaster, really hope to see more of this series, and more news on BG&E 2
Today is a great day my friends! Ubisoft just announced that Beyond Good and Evil 2 is in development!! :) Edit: Now they even showed us a trailer! I think Ubisoft is finally taking this game seriously now :)
I still come back to this one every once in a while. This one clings to heartstrings, gone by. All the more it sticks like glue, to my essence, the losses only serving to magnify the emptiness that spreads upon the death of young memory.
Alot of people here are saying that this song makes them sad or is sad. Rather I think of it as a song that, in a way, describes the feeling of freedom. The same feeling that you unknowingly had when you played this game on a beatiful Sunday afternoon.
this game is like one of your past love stories which ended abruptly. everything went rather smoothly, but suddenly, one day you find yourself without the person you loved, because something took them from you. you have so many fond memories of it, even if it wasn't perfect. you look back and you only remember the good things, and the bad things kinda fade away, because they weren't as important as you thought they'd been. then you realize they're gone, and you are filled with sadness. but you STILL love them, and you'll feel them inside you forever. they made you stronger, they've enriched your life, they're part of you and they'll always be. BG&E is far from perfect. it has noticeable downs (small, restricted, almost "empty" hubworld; short; weird difficulty spikes; only 2 kinds of collectables and 1 currency; unfulfilled cliffhanger; linear; few environments; repetitive; almost no puzzles) but also ups that I think far overweight them (charming characters; stunning visuals; AMAZING soundtrack; interesting sidequests; well dubbed protagonists; minigames; compelling story; good plot; lovely creatures; photo mechanics; smooth combat; unique designs) I fell in love with this game many years ago. still love it. the cliffhanger hurts the most if you think it'll never have its payoff. but it's alright, I guess it's part of being a fan of the game. I have zero faith in BG&E2. it can suck ass, I don't care. it can be vaporware, I don't care. I still play the original from time to time. today I just finished it on an XBox after beating it the first time (I think two decades ago) on a Gamecube. then on PS2 a couple years ago, then again on a Wii a few months ago. that makes 4. and I'll surely play it again. this game really goes _beyond_ .
This game made you do something that very few games do, and that is to make you care about the characters and the world around them. Thumbs up if you struggled with trying to take a good, centered picture of a moving enemy before fighting it
Unfortunately he's bogged down making bgae 2. But it's way too huge in scope. I want another tight story maybe double the length of the original. We could have had 12 in the time it's taken to make the sequel.

I didn't play this game until I was around 14, and my father bought it for me and it was one of the first games I had ever played for the first time totally by myself without someone else playing it first. I loved every moment of it, and everything was stunning. The art, the story, the characters, the music... I really hope the second one is released soon.
I miss this game so much, brings back memories so much memories. Will forever be a fan made a huge impact on me when I was young. Beyond good & evil 2 where are you?!💚
goosebumps. great music for a great game. i've played BGE on the first xbox when i had more or less 9-10 years ago and it's still one of my favorites. i miss Jade so much.
I keep coming on here, to this angelic soundtrack, whenever I feel nostalgic. This game helped me in a way nothing will ever do. I'm not a huge fan of videogames, but I played BG&E when I was 7 and since then I felt very attached to it, and it's such an honor to say, 16 years later, that I grew up on some quality shit.
Before, this song gave me a sad yet peaceful sense of nostalgia. Now, it gives me a sort of hope. I played it while cleaning and it felt like I was renovating a house or something for a big project. It definitely helped out. I did get a bit of nostalgia from playing the game though. I miss Beyond Good and Evil!
I uploaded these before the trailer. I was pleasantly surprised because let's face it, no one saw a sequel coming, especially with Ubi Soft being more business minded nowadays. As it is, I just don't feel like correcting my mistake in the infobox for all 40 or so videos. I've now been 'informed' of the teaser about 100 times, heh.
Wish i could go back to be a small child and play this game like i always did I came back from school and was already turning the PS2 cause i wanted to play it
This theme really brings back memories from when I was five years old and played this game on my dad's PC, growing accustomed to this relaxing soundtrack. I'm now 20 btw 😆
This game has been, is, and always will be my favourite game of all time, I play it, and slip back into my childhood, I'm 18 now, I first played this game at 7, and thinking back to that time when life was easy makes me feel warm inside. I'm glad Ubi are developing a sequel, and hope it will be as good as the first.
This game had such a beautiful story and immersion with all the different cultures: Jamacian, Chinese, Spanish etc Everything that ties this game together goes so brilliantly and I'm happy to have played BGE. Never finished it yet but hope so eventually.
ce jeu a marqué toute mon enfance, 10 ans après j’y joue encore et encore et adore toujours autant le jeu dans sa totalité ! Tellement triste que Ubisoft n’est pas donné suite à ce chef d’œuvre..
this is and my alarm. i was in that half dreaming half awake state when my alarm was going off and i transported to this world in my dream. i will remember that dream forever
What a masterpiece. I just love listening to this whilst speeding around Hillys, watching the day turn to night and fish leap out the water. This really is a magical soundtrack and game!
If I tried to define this, I'd say... it brings a certain sense of nostalgia, and reminiscence, for a place you realize much too late that you could call "home"
There seemed to be a bug in my save file. This song would never play when I cruised the overworld in the hovercraft in my second playthrough. Only hearing the ambient sounds of the waves, other boats and sea creatures. I kind of didn't mind, since this game has excellent sounds design, got used to it. But really odd that it never played even once during my entire playthrough, except for briefly during the end credits. Such an iconic theme completely missing in action... Really weird...
I love playing track several times a day. This game is truly a gem it reminds me when i played this at the age of 7 its pleasant music influeneced me a lot and brings peace to the mind thank you for the channel to bring it here available for everyone
i played this game a long time ago and the ending of this game made me cry, i didnt want it to be over. still when i hear the soundtrack it brings up that feeling
You get shooters; you get adventure games, Horror's, Indie games, The Good ones and the bad. The beautiful, the Breathtaking the sad and the mad. You get games with a message and you get games with a soul. This was more than just a game to me, it was a experience.

Oldstalk ok :) hope its coming out soon !!!! Thanks for your answer
I didn't play this game until I was around 14, and my father bought it for me and it was one of the first games I had ever played for the first time totally by myself without someone else playing it first. I loved every moment of it, and everything was stunning. The art, the story, the characters, the music... I really hope the second one is released soon.
I would like to thank my uncle for giving this game to me when I was a kid.
I miss this game so much, brings back memories so much memories. Will forever be a fan made a huge impact on me when I was young. Beyond good & evil 2 where are you?!💚
goosebumps. great music for a great game. i've played BGE on the first xbox when i had more or less 9-10 years ago and it's still one of my favorites. i miss Jade so much.
you won't be missing Jade if you replay the game!
+OronkonPhoenix I should play BG&E everyday for not missing her x)
RIP Jodie Forrest her voice actor (1956-2017)
That's one strong dose of nostalgia
This NEVER gets old!

I have played many many games, and I've never experienced a game like this one before. This game is an must-have experience.
i love Beyond good and evil so much, it would be a dream if Jade was in Smash. The soundtrack is so good it would be perfect
XD yeah she would've been whooping ass
I keep coming on here, to this angelic soundtrack, whenever I feel nostalgic. This game helped me in a way nothing will ever do. I'm not a huge fan of videogames, but I played BG&E when I was 7 and since then I felt very attached to it, and it's such an honor to say, 16 years later, that I grew up on some quality shit.
Brings tears to my eyes its such a good game
Wish i could go back to be a small child and play this game like i always did
I came back from school and was already turning the PS2 cause i wanted to play it
never played this game but i remember as a high schooler finding this track on a free video game site and have on my itunes ever since.
I remember playing this game back in 2005 when I was 6 years old, wow... it's incredible.
Days lke those, will never return.
Un de mes plus belle expérience vidéo-ludique ! Un rêve éveillé. J'ai adoré. Merci aux jeux-vidéos pour m'avoir apporté tant de bonheur.
That game is so nice ! And even the soundtrack
The most beautiful game I've ever played and there's no sequel.Damn that!

Maybe in the next future a sequel comes. I hope it
Me too :)
dominikcz123 true
I've hope too
I absolutely LOVE this song. I still remember it playing on the way to Black Isle with the sunset and the calm waters. Epic and beautiful.
It's 2017.
Yesterday Michel Ancel presented the REAL trailer.
Im just fucccking excited.
I’m sorry....
This theme really brings back memories from when I was five years old and played this game on my dad's PC, growing accustomed to this relaxing soundtrack. I'm now 20 btw 😆
"Gimme Beyond Good and Evil 2"
Ye it’s still not out :(
Netflix
This game has been, is, and always will be my favourite game of all time, I play it, and slip back into my childhood, I'm 18 now, I first played this game at 7, and thinking back to that time when life was easy makes me feel warm inside. I'm glad Ubi are developing a sequel, and hope it will be as good as the first.
This game had such a beautiful story and immersion with all the different cultures: Jamacian, Chinese, Spanish etc
Everything that ties this game together goes so brilliantly and I'm happy to have played BGE. Never finished it yet but hope so eventually.
Did you finished in the last 2 years? : )
Had to come back to this epic piano score. I love this game. In Jade we Trust.
Welcome back friends, after long waiting ;)
It's good to be home.
ce jeu a marqué toute mon enfance, 10 ans après j’y joue encore et encore et adore toujours autant le jeu dans sa totalité ! Tellement triste que Ubisoft n’est pas donné suite à ce chef d’œuvre..
un jour peut être...
Oooh this. My heart is melting
this is and my alarm. i was in that half dreaming half awake state when my alarm was going off and i transported to this world in my dream. i will remember that dream forever
I hope this track manages to get into beyond good and evil 2 in some way, it's simply too good to be ignored

A serie or something ?
What a masterpiece. I just love listening to this whilst speeding around Hillys, watching the day turn to night and fish leap out the water. This really is a magical soundtrack and game!
The best soundtrack of a game of all time
I’m still waiting for the remake or the sequel…I listen to this song every now and then
Still today one of the pieces of music I cherish the most
If I tried to define this, I'd say... it brings a certain sense of nostalgia, and reminiscence, for a place you realize much too late that you could call "home"
Love this tune and the memories.
Best underrated video game of my childhood!
It's happening boys, after more than 15 years beyond good & evil 2 in coming. Hype.
Yeah but at what cost? I am not very impressed from what I have seen and heard about it so far.
Netflix
I love playing track several times a day. This game is truly a gem it reminds me when i played this at the age of 7 its pleasant music influeneced me a lot and brings peace to the mind thank you for the channel to bring it here available for everyone
the nostalgia...makes me feel young again :)
Best score in any video game ever
Home sweet home is still a beautiful song😌
I love this song so much, is sad and happy at the same time and it's so beauiful
Nostalgia.. Love it
i played this game a long time ago and the ending of this game made me cry, i didnt want it to be over. still when i hear the soundtrack it brings up that feeling
It's the only game that i've bought 3 times. I have it on ps2, ps3 and pc.
You get shooters; you get adventure games, Horror's, Indie games, The Good ones and the bad. The beautiful, the Breathtaking the sad and the mad. You get games with a message and you get games with a soul. This was more than just a game to me, it was a experience.
someone should use this in a timelapse video
guys its my chillhoods game and stil didnt forget it after 20 years this hometrack song does hide something beautifull this game is a meaning but no1 cant out what it i want to hug the owner who made this game man
Years until Beyond Good & Evil 2 is released

same here.
I just bought the game yesterday for my Xbox, and this was the first song that made me like this game.
