So many comments here with people saying "I spottet your move!". Off course you do. You are souly focusing on his hands. In real life he would distract the crap out of you all.
Great vids. Keep em rolling. Already god laid 5 times thanks to your teaching of card tricks. They work great at a party ;)

You know what would improve this trick? Is something like "Ok, let's think of poker, now both piles have two pair, two aces and two kings. That's really boring. Let's spice it up. So, I'll snap my fingers and boom, we have a full house with kings (two aces, three kings) and while that's good, it's not as good as this one... (display) a royal flush."

    Important Points:
A "straight" is five cards in a row (For example: 4H, 5D, 6S, 7C, and the 8H - - -cards may be of different suits)
A "flush" is five of the same suit (For Example: 4H, 5H, QH, 3H, AH - - -must be five of the same suit but not necessarily in a row)
A "straight flush" is five in a row of the same suit (For Example: 7H, 8H, 9H, 10H, JH ---cards must be five in a row and five of the same suit.
Finally, a "Royal Straight Flush" is the 10S, JS, QS, KS, and the AS of the same row and the same suit (For example: 10H,JH, QH, KH, and AH)
I'm 72-yrs. old and have been around "card playing" as a family playing activity.
    Dave

Thanks dude for the tutorial! It actually doesn't matter if you're doing the tutorial with flaws, if a person can preform magic, he/she should be able to know how to do it in the way that suits them, correct?
It's just sad that so many people are picking on you in the comments beacuse of this. You're doing a great job, and don't let them bring you down!
    Peace!

  • @thesammyoverseas
    @thesammyoverseas 10 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Thanks for the tutorial.
I'm not sure if it's been said elsewhere, but I think the effect will work better if in the KING packet, you have KC,KH,QS,AS,KS,KD. And in the ACE packet you have AC,AH,10S,JS,AD.
Having it like this will do two things:
First, doing an Elmsley Count on both packets will show two red kings/aces, and "two" (really just the club card) black kings/aces. In your version there is three black cards shown in the Count.
Second, the final reveal will display the Royal Flush in its proper order.
It means do an extra double lift on the ACE packet, but whatevs.
    Cheers for the vid!

Excellent teaching. May I suggest including a quick slight to move the black ace next to its king? It is what a royal flush looks like. This would give your video the A+ it deserves. Thanks again for posting!

looks like you missed to explain one little part. At 5:51, how did the queen of spade get to the top of the pile? If you look at 3:07, it's the king of clubs that would appear at the top of the pile when faced down, not the queen...

Perhaps you could start with the ace of diamonds or hearts on top of the pile, otherwise you will show 3 times a black card which is easily noticeable, same thing for the kings, 3 times a red card is more likely to give the trick away...other than that I liked the video!

  • @quintopia
    @quintopia 10 ปีที่แล้ว

You talk about making the effect consistent but totally throw that off by switching grips every time you Elmsley. This is compounded by the fact that you have an unusually awkward grip. Standard Elmsley is done from mechanic's grip using only the thumb and first two fingers of the other hand, though you'll find if you buckle the bottom card you can start directly from biddle grip and achieve true consistency.

im getting mixed up at 5:30 my elmsley count gets a different order. When im done with the elmsley count with the kings, I have
    K of hearts
    J of spades
    K of diamonds
    Q of spades
    K of spades
    K of clubs
    why

It is a royal flush, but the ace goes after the king. Aces are usually the highest value cards when playing poker, unless you play "ace low" where the aces have the lowest value of 1

everyone I try the elmsmy count or however you spell it. I always take the first two cards and not the one top one. I don't if I'm holding to tightly or what. or maybe there's a coordination between the thumb sliding and the index holding the other cards back, while your thing released pressure so you can move the cards then adding pressure back on to the card. either way I 95% always grab the first two top cards and not just one

It's one of two things :
      1) your cards are too rough, as in they don't slide well. Try buying new cards!
      2) when grabbing the cards, don't take them from the edge, put your thumb around the middle of the cards and pull the card
Also remember not to grip the cards too hard, good luck! :)

  • @EldudeTheFirst

For everyone saying they spotted the same card used during the elmsley counts: if you work up both speed and patter, most non-magician folks won't think twice (you might get the occasional sharp-eyed poker player, but usually if you are going sufficiently quick and making polite eye contact, their brains will auto-correct); alternately you can take extra cards from a spare deck and alter the elmsley counts in the tricks and have 4 kings and 4 aces, but either way distraction is key, and in instructional youtube videos that doesn't really exist, so you're gonna see it easier.

Hey, i need a little help! i did this card trick many years ago, and it goes like this: you have your card stock, and you look at the botton card. you remember the card, and then place the cards all over a table, and remember where you put your last card. you ask the other person your about to trick to pick a card, and it ends up being three cards, but in the end i am going to pick up a "random" card (that`s avtually the last card in the stock), and i know every card in their hands without watching! i dont know how i did it, so do anyone know that trick that can send a link to it or comment the answer under this comment? thanks :)
