    To answer your question: There is a separate international baggage claim. It's right next to the domestic one, through the glass. Both terminal 1 and terminal 3 handle domestic and international flights, the difference is in the airlines. (There is no terminal 2 any more.) if you're on an international flight, when you arrive the door to the main terminal will be closed and you head up an escalator to go to customs, and then down to baggage.
    Terminal 1 handles Air Canada and other star alliance airlines, terminal 3 handles WestJet, SkyTeam alliance, and OneWorld alliance airlines.
    About delayed flights, That's not too common. One time we were flying out to Vancouver and our flight was delayed 7 hours because the airplane that we were going to fly on was stuck in Tampa Bay due to bad weather. Luckily we had a lounge membership so it wasn't so bad. Other than that my experience in Pearson has been decent.

    Nope, us Canadians hate the delays too. Air Canada is always delayed. My dad was a pilot for them and my mom is still a flight attendant working for the company. It’s an ongoing issue with them. Canadian Airlines (which no longer exists) was fantastic. They were always on time and had the best customer service. Our government forced the merge of Canadian Airlines with Air Canada and it was a bad mistake. It gave monopoly to Air Canada instead of providing competition to which the passengers could benefit off of. No other airlines in Canada compete with Air Canada as much. It’s still the major carrier and their corporate environment and mentally isn’t great. They just don’t care as much.
    We miss Canadian Airlines 😢

    I’m glad we saw a video of how it is to arrive as a Canadian domestic passenger. It’s almost similar to what US domestic passengers experience. One key difference is that domestic baggage claim at Canadian airports is in the airside; domestic baggage claim in the US is landslide just right at the exit.

    Dude. Toronto Pearson isn't that bad. You say the baggage system is sloppy. Go through Paris Charles De Gaulle airport and see how much worse it is. The baggage system at that airport is really really horrible. Toronto Pearson is way better by comparison. Trust me I know. I was just there a few weeks back

    • @kunchek
      @kunchek 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Have you been there Andrew personally? It’s was a living nightmare at Toronto airport, I just out of it . It’s highly understaff and people are missing flights due to slow security and immigration . Imagine waiting for 6 hours in line

    • @andrewohare8550
      @andrewohare8550 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@kunchek yes I have. I just said I went to Paris for two weeks. Did you not read my previous comments? Yes pearson was bad no doubt. And your right it is understaffed. But when I arrived a Charles De Gaulle, dude it was so much worse. Immigration was understaffed. Took 4 hours to clear customs in France. The airport itself was dirty stinky and heavily overcrowded. We waited 3 hours inside the plane because there was no gates available. And no it was not air Canada it was air France. I just don't think it's fair you all are picking on Toronto when clearly almost every major airport in the world is dealing with this crap. My cousin told me too that JFK airport is bad too. Missing luggages and the such. I bet your just one of those canada haters. Canada is a very beautiful country. Great places beautiful cities great people and good food.

    • @kunchek
      @kunchek 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      So sorry to hear your struggles, at France they went on a strike- union was out protesting at the nick of summer holidays …. That wasn’t the case here … here they were heavily understaffed. However I get your 4 hours wait … here too in air canada we had to sit fir 1.5 hours as the immigration was jammed.

    This airport is making customers zig-zag through a massive customs line-up for nothing. They could easily move the custom card inspector to the beginning of the line, instead of right up near the custom officer desks and check through many travelers. Purposely making you wait an extra 40 minutes to 1 hour after a full day of travelling. Horrible..... starting to hate travelling, that's what they probably want to happen.
