  • Just the final video on the little 226. The actuator return spring had over extended and hence the locking pawl wasn't able to drop into the recesses on the shackle. All assembled all be it a bit less desirable:-)

    Just finished watching part 1. Really interesting way to retain and remove the shackle. Like you said.. being that the "Lockwood" plate is secured with drive screws or drive rivets, it would be pretty easy to remove and reinstall.. Surprised to see that in such a small and inexpensive lock, very cool! Great work Paul, really enjoy these videos ! Thanks, and take care buddy!

    That’s a very clever idea to retain the shackle, I guess that once the padlocks has all been made they just leave those little wedges out until they decide what height shackle to use, them drive it in after?
    Have a great week Paul

      Thanks Daz. I reckon you might be on the ball with that theory. Would make sense from a production point of view. Have a good one:-)

    Great videos bro, love learning new stuff. And I never seen that way of retaining the shackle.
    Pretty slick for sure.
    Cheers and Happy Pickin!

    Wow... great craftsmanship!
    If I had gotten it apart the only place it would’ve gone is the bin 🤪
    Great investigation of the laminated Lockwoods!
    I’ll bet they stacked the laminated plates then popped in the shackle retaining wedge then lastly popped on the badge.
    If you got a job putting the badges on you’d have lasted at least a couple of weeks!

    Are all these laminated Lockwoods wafer locks?

    • @crankylock7844
      @crankylock7844  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      No. I have checked a 1992 LSC Catalogue and apparantly the 239 was a pin tumbler format in 30,40 and 50 mm versions. I have a update video about to be posted where i point it out:-)

      @@crankylock7844 Ah, OK, because I have some new ones that look like pin tumbler ones and I have an old one that looks like a wafer lock. I sent you photos of the latter last year. The shackle comes right out. I realise now it's because the shackle retaining pin is damaged.
