- Today I went for a great walk down Chaweng Beach and ir was windy but still a beautiful walk and day. To my surprise I saw many dead jellyfish on the shore line so please be careful here on Samui.

I’m not an expert but these jellyfish are not deadly compared to the box jellyfish. I might have to do some reading and find out the difference of all jellyfish . All I know I had some to eat in Chinatown Brisbane and it was good!! Lots of soya ! Lol

"There's not much beach there at high tide"
Greedy resort owners built too close to the beach.
Should be at least 20 meters back from the highest high tide mark, in my opinion. At least that's what I've seen at the nicest beaches in the world that I've been to.
Cmon guys. Think. You ain't gonna make that much money gobbling up that last 20 meters. Put a bamboo beach shack there, sure, but not those ugly concrete pilings in order to elevate upwards. That is just gross (other beaches in Samui do this, nor Chaweng Beach)
Also, supposedly jellys peak at two weeks after a full moon, so there's about another week of jellies before they peak and then disperse.
Probably mating, that's why they get aggressive.
Also, ever been bitten by Sea lice? Looks like mosquito bites, but you get them in the ocean.
Those are baby jellies. So small about the size of a pencil dot, you can't see them.
Looks like you just described industry & the powers that be the world over. Greed & ignorance on every corner of the planet. Conscious industry begins with conscientious individuals. Maybe that might reign way after we are gone.
