The person in question is two maybe three generations behind them in terms if cultural bias and personality. It's literally a boomer trying to tell others of a different mind what they think is best definitively when everyone is different based on the former mentioned points. Great animator but people should know when to take influence and when to take something to heart intimately. This podcast is cerebral in a severely autistic way lol. First listened when I was young and dumb like them. Still dumb just got the wisdom you get from getting old.

That's not what happened with the "Thief and the Cobbler" story, it's less hilariously depressing. Basically, Williams had been working on the film for decades with a studio (Williams Studio) of animators. It was supposed to be his "masterpiece" and "the greatest animated film ever made" which he dedicated his life and savings to. After numerous missed deadlines and overspending, every producer ditched the project and the rights were taken away from Williams. The only relation it has to Aladdin is the setting and the design of the villain (which was possibly stolen by Disney animators who previously worked with Williams.) (full story) In the late 70s, Williams worked with a producer to help fund his project but eventually they had a falling out because of Williams' overspending and missed deadlines (typical perfectionist, animator genius.) During the early 80s the film was then put on-hold and the footage was shown around, eventually catching the eye of Steven Spielberg. Spielberg approached Williams to work on "Who Framed Roger Rabbit?" which he accepted, hoping to use the money to continue funding his "Cobbler." After Roger Rabbit's success, in 1989 Williams was approached with new funding by Warner Bros. which helped him put "Cobbler" into full production. Williams worked day and night on the project, crew members being laid off constantly. Eventually things fell apart and Williams yet again missed his deadline in 1991. Warner Bros. eventually took the film away from Williams and gave it to Fred Calvert who infamously fucked the movie up terribly by adding in cheesy songs and a love story. Basically a beautiful work of art was turned into a cheap piece of shit. I don't really blame the studios for being afraid of funding this project any longer they already did. The animation is gorgeous and unchallenged to this day but the story was never great. I blame that on the fact that Williams was focusing too much on making the visuals and rewriting things so much that eventually the film had no identity anymore. Something similar happened to me on the bus. There were no fingers in asses but the 6th graders basically ran a fight club in the back for kindergarteners and I was the champion. Like they would make kids fight me in the back and the only reason I remember this is because one day I fought my best friend and I honestly have no idea how this all started but I ended up ripping his pants off and pushing him under the seat and kicking him. I just remember it faintly every once in a while and I realize how fucked up that really was.
One thing I love about being an adult is that I can buy anything I want! The money I don't spend on groceries, I use it on bakery-fresh dog treats for my dog, video games, toys, eating out at restaurants & candy. Hell yeah, Stamper.
