Abdominal Hysterectomy

This animation shows the steps of an abdominal hysterectomy with a complication. It begins with a view of a woman prepped for surgery. The view shifts to the woman's lower abdomen and a transverse incision is made. The incision is opened and we are shown the uterus. Ligaments and tubes are cut and sutured. Uterine arteries are cut and sutured. The uterus is amputated. The vaginal cuff is sutured closed. The colon is caught in a suture and the cut develops into a perforation.

What do you mean bowel wall weakens? Does this happen after each hysterectomy

It's been over a week since I had my hysterectomy. I wish I would have gotten it yrs ago. I prayed it would go away on its own cause I wanted a baby but my body feels lighter & I'm in the process of healing.
