Okay, my daughter and I are restoring a 1984 Coleman popup. Its work, but fun and the rewards will be that much better. One thing I found came from our soft top Jeeps. Many people wanted to know where we got our new tops. One was 9 years old the othr 12 years old. What did we do? We got the BestTop soft top care kit. It has a clear window cleaner, the top cleaner, top protectant and zipper lubrication. Wortks great. So we used it on the top of our trailer - the top, clear windows and window zippers. The tent part looks brand new - just read the directions FIRST! New popups may also benefit. Good luck to all popup fixer uppers!!!

I think pleather is the only option with kids and/or dogs. However, I’m not sure my sewing machine would handle that fabric. Our cushions don’t have wood attached to the back of them either but…watching this gave an idea! 💡🧐

All looks great! Our cabinet tops have experienced some swelling due to moisture issues so I have decided just to replace the tops with real wood . We can paint or just finish with stain and sealer. I am thinking butcher block for the kitchen counter. Chalk paint marks up too easy. A sealer would prevent that. Minwax has a flat finish self leveling water based sealer. I was thinking blue also but honestly think lighter colors would be better. We are keeping the cushions and bed coverings for now as they are fine. We tried a thicker foam mattress topper but then the top will not come all the way down. I just roll it up and put it on the floor when putting the camper down. As an older couple, we find a smaller popup camper is perfect for us.
Y’all did such an amazing job! My brother just gave us a pop up and the canvass will need to be replaced.....also I will need to refurbish the inside. This video gives me hope I can get it done 🥰🥰🥰
Love it! I especially like the direction you laid the floor...most videos show it going lengthwise, which just makes the camper look longer. Yours makes it look wider. Taking notes...I like the color of the flooring too. 😁

FYI you can spray rubbing alcohol on mattress and really anything to sanitize. I do this on all my thrifts items before I bring them in my house to make sure any bugs and their eggs are killed

Absolutely great work, did you ruff up the wood before the chalk paint priming? How many cans of spray paint did you need? Sun does sterilize, you can remove the mattress from the cover, and put them in the sun. you also could add a drop table on the side of counter for counter space when needed. Check out giecoss or gizmos for the tent part. Safe travels PS. there is also a foam you can put under the mattress or use a yoga mat. You have beautiful eyes.

I covered them with fabric I purchased at Hobby Lobby. I also didn't replace the bedding - we just cleaned it and sunned it and then added egg crates and fresh bedding.
Did you use anything to help adhere the flooring? I read that those peel and stick tiles could only be applied to subfloor or concrete.
Yes, Danny used bond-enhancer self-stick tile primer he purchased at Home Depot. To make it as waterproof as possible, he used ready-mixed grout, also purchaed at Home Depot.

Do the standard depth fitted sheets work on that thin mattress? I figured I would need to buy specialty sheets, but I'm trying to do this makeover on a budget. Thanks for the video!

They're a little wonky because of the shape of the mattress.

@@CharlotteGroveFarmhouse is it one that has Clorox or without Clorox? I ought we and now all I can smell is the Clorox and I cant stand it it’s been like a week and I still smell it. Next time I will not use one with Clorox and I’ll have to go over with soapy water hoping I can take the smell and the Clorox out of the fabric.

Why did you add more chalk paint on top of chalk paint to paint it the color you want? Why two coats of chalk paint? Could you have not just painted over the blue chalk paint?

We have it and the paint is still doing most of the way we’ll. It needs some touch ups. But man, nice got to our canvas so we are desperate for new ones.

Does your husband have all of the "cutting equipment" for wood (ie, the quarter rounds)?
He does. He has a circular saw that he used. However, it was very thin and easy to work with, so you could use a simple hand saw. Also, Home Depot will cut it for you if you don't have the tools. You'll just need to know the dimensions!

They are unbelieveably expensive! It's crazy! We paid $2k for ours and that was WAY overpriced.

Yep... I'm considering an '02 Coleman Sea Pine $4200
We just bought ours for $1250 and then we bought a canvas replacement that was in stock from Bear Creek Canvas in Wi for $950 plus tax and shipping to CA. So all in about 2200 which is not that much and we are going to remodel. We are also getting new tires at $70 a piece so two. You just need to be prepared to get something with damage or fix it up if you can.
How many cans of spray paint did it take and what brand did you use?
It took about 4 and I used Rustoleum.

You put the mattress pad on wrong. You put it sideways instead of longways seeing why you had to tuck it in at the top
The mattress itself is an odd shape. lt's very square and not like a traditional mattress.
How do you clean the canvas?
We didn't end up cleaning the canvas. Nothing was cleaning it well enough. We planned to purchase replacement canvas but we recently bought an RV to renovate so we are selling the pop-up.
