Coronation Street stalwarts Barbara Knox and Eileen Derbyshire praised the enduring appeal of the popular Manchester-filmed soap as they were made MBEs by the Queen.
Great to see Eileen and Barbara as Eileen and Barbara (as opposed to Emily and Rita). Lovely ladies and brilliant actresses whose honors are long overdue.
This interview is a lot of fun. I love Barbara and Eileen -- they've contributed so much to Corrie, and to British television, and they rarely get any credit. Eileen rarely does interviews -- this is one of the few since 1988, when the woman who played Minnie Caldwell died.
... dressed up to the nines were Rita when she went to London to meet the Queen... and Emily looked appropriately dressed, too , in a lovely blue, green crepe with matching hat and leather gloves refinely accessorized with pearls and handbag. Wonder if she took her medal to Peru. I hope she has
I came to this vid because I wanted to see Eileen Derbyshire as she really is. But instead, I had to sit through Barbara Knox dominating the situation, monopolising the interviewer and constantly interrupting Eileen so that poor Eileen had to keep stopping speaking. How extremely rude on such an important occasion that they will never get back. If only Barbara could have shared this interview- Eileen would have been able to share this with her friends and family. As it is, instead she just has some frustrating footage of being talked over and ignored. How awful.
I read your comment before watching and couldn't stop laughing at how much she was interrupted. I guess there's not too much difference between her and Emily.
Eileen doesn't do interviews, or attend TV award ceremonies, she is a very private person, she obviously didn't mind collecting an award from the queen though
Why is Emily such a privet person in real life? Your on TV for Goodness sack. You can't just turn away from TV awards every Year. When your part of a show. You Take Part in and For goodness Sack Barbara Let Emily speak. There's more Then just you There. You have got to let other people have There. Say on Aspeley when is as big as something like meeting The Queen
