    Shoshana nobody is safe. My former Boss lost her job after 27 Years at The Bank and got a Transfer. They are doing some major downsizing. I'm a Contractual Temp but even I know I'm not safe.

      @@midwesternexplorer9339 I see this all the time on YT. I've literally seen comments from double digit IQ people lecturing sitcom characters. Like they're real people, who are actively combing through the comments and are going to take to heart what people are saying. It's astounding how d u mb people are, and meanwhile they're allowed to vote, drive cars, have babies, etc.

    losing your job sucks, but i genuinely resent that this show acts like getting laid off and being fired are the same thing.

      in a right to work state (which is most US states), there isn't a whole lot of difference.

    • @pb.j.1753
      @pb.j.1753 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Ok but what is the difference? The employer’s motivation behind it? Cause to me it’s the same when the employee has to leave involuntarily.

      @@pb.j.1753 worse to be fired, is associated with wrongdoing or bad performance. Still terrible to lose an income/identity (which happens when you are laid off)

      @@coleman707 you mean "at will". "Right-to-work" refers to union dues being required for all employees or not.

      A young North American woman with perfect American-accented English like Shoshanna?
      She has then a no-fail 100% guaranteed job teaching English! Schools will fight each other to the death to have her in their teaching staff!

      She probably has a permit to stay in the country because of her job. If she's fired, she will need to go through all kinds of stuff in order to stay in the country and work.

      I'm not sure. Chances are she had a Working Visa with The Company. Who knows the Apartment she lived in may have been a Tax Write Off for all we know. She was so independent and coming into her own and this happens.

      Ohhhhhhhh. That's why the show Severence is called Severence. It's a way of playing with the corporate term "Severence" while also being the name of the medical procedure from the show. How neat. Ok thank!
