    "All the bikes are good, I like the goodness of that bike but the goodness of the other bike is also good, that bike is good but it could be better which is good, good good good good good..."
    Thanks for clearing that up guys. This was 7 minutes of us finding out that you like riding free bikes. Most people watch reviews because they can't do that and want someone who has to tell them something which they can make a decision with.

      I couldn´t agree more. I´m tired of watching "reviews" that don´t clarify anything for the end user and seem much more like a excuse for the "testers" to have a nice fun free trip on the latest bikes.

      While I agree that videos like this rarely come to a conclusion, I think there is some value in that they highlight both positives and negatives that may not be apparent when at a dealership. I appreciate their hands on feedback.

    Most people here are missing the whole point of the capability of these machines. If you want a true off road machine, then get a cross 250 so that you can jump around on the trail all day long. These four bikes gives you the ability to ride across state lines on highways anywhere like any other street bike, plus going off road to places where no other street bike are even close to be capable of going. With a 1200cc at 500lb, I can cruise at 85+mph in any highways, then turn off to the trail where no car or street bike will be able to reach and spend the night watching the stars. This is the beauty of these enduro bikes. So the 1200cc is more than welcome for durability power to cross the nation if feel like, plus climb somewhere to spend the night where no patrol car will be able to reach.

    Great video! However it did not seem like everyone agreed that the Honda Africa twin won!! Next time, please have each rider gives the "Cons & pros" of all the bikes he rode, instead of sounding biased to what he was riding!!
    Thanks guys! Make more of them !!!

    All good bikes. I think Honda has hit a home run. Until now, Honda wasn't really a player in the adventure bike category and they have come out of nowhere to surpass the high priced competitors with a bike that does everything really well. They have a few bugs to work out on the Africa Twin (rusting spokes) but their engineers did a heck of a job on their bike. It's definitely my next bike.

    I don't get the haters in the comments. I thought it was a great review. if you listen, you will hear clearly what the strengths are for each machine. if you waiting to hear someone SLAM 3 bikes and declare 1 the hands down champion, then your NOT a motorcycle rider. ALL these machines are Awesome. it DOES come down to personal preferences. stop being jealous that your NOT one of the persons riding for "free", what ever that is suppose to mean. and take the video as a helpful learning tool to maybe sway you towards the bike you were thinking off in the first place.

    Given the 2017 model changes you should probably do another comparison haha. Ducati now has their 950 multistrada, and KTM created 2 bikes out of the 1190, the 1290 Adventure which carries the torch of the 1190 and stays right around the 17k mark and the new 1090 Adventure which is basically the 1190 but with some weight loss, suspension improvements, and a "mere" 125hp for the same 14k as the Africa Twin.

    Awesome footage! The two hires don't sound like backing up the conclusion, made by one it seems. Otherwise I enjoy this thanks to location, I love Colorado anyway, awesome weather and great filming.

      Not only that, but reliability and parts. I ride with guys from Russia, Poland, Australia, Africa. They all had BMW and all BITCHED at break downs and trying to find parts in remote parts of the world. ALL (i mean ALL of them) own KTM and ALL said that they would buy a good Japanese bike like Yamaha or Honda for world travel and base those comments on reliability, ease of service, ability to find parts. This video wasnt really a good review and didnt have enough content about the bikes and performance. I do appreciate MotoRiders and taking the time to make this video.

    • @danyel9256
      @danyel9256 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Gerald , you are so right , i drove many rides in Poland and other parts in Europe , on a true dual sport , my first was a Husqvarna ,great bike but many technical problems , like all the others in my group who drove KTM.
      after a few years i bought my brothers Yamaha WR 426 and all that was left to do was service it ! never a problem.
      i learned that real reliable bikes are Japanese if you like them is a different question but those are by far the most reliable !
      so besides my Kawasaki ZZR1400 , next year i will buy an Africa Twin .....
      if you are standing in the middle of nowhere the only thing that matters is reliability !!
      besides that , the Honda and KTM are most capeable of off road in this test but i have seen to many broken down KTM's.....
      the Teneré 1200 would be an option but the Honda is a little better off road.

    Lmao, i didn't hear anything about flaws on 1 bike.
    i think these plebs should probably stick to their 'track' bikes and leave dirt for the real people that can manage a fire trail at least without thinking they've just accomplished a hill climb and river crossing.

  • @htiek30120
    @htiek30120 8 ปีที่แล้ว +7

    Wow! Another weak review of four over-sized adventure bikes. First, what they are calling off-roading is only riding down fire roads. Anything greater than a forest service road goes beyond the skill set of the average rider. It is worth noting the location of this test. You simply don't have as many open riding spaces in the Eastern half of the US. Being a NC native who lives in CO now, I can tell you that the Western half is an off-roading paradise. Second, weight is a major concern when off-roading. The lighter the bike, the better. There is nothing light about any of these. Try taking a WR450 off road and then hop on a YZ250X. The weight difference is huge. Now imagine hopping on a bike that weighs nearly double that of a WR450 and see how that works out for you. Third, is the cost. The Africa Twin is the "cheapest" and they only get higher from there. Relatively speaking the prices aren't that bad, but realistically $13K and up for a bike is still expensive. Factor $1k plus for the "mandatory" luggage, $1K plus for crash protection, $1K for suspension and engine mods, and $1K plus for the standard adventure gear and you're looking at a new car for your kid. For the off-road riding they are doing, have the average rider get a KLR 650 and whatever street bike that they like.

      Keith Hamilton
      Completely agree. Break down somewhere remote and good luck finding anyone that can fix anything other than that Honda. A real adventure bike is a 2-4 stroke enduro that you can drop often, gets 60 mpg on and fix with the tools you have with you.
      Lastly this is a terrible video staring imbeciles and idiots.

    • @stopper90004
      @stopper90004 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Spot on Keith. I think that these guys fail to warn new adv riders (like me two years ago!) of just how expensive these bikes get with the protection. They also should stress the difficulty of going anywhere other than fire roads on these behemoths. I bought a Yamaha Super Tenere (which was fabulous on tarmac) thinking I'd be able to manage more challenging trails, but hated picking it up solo. I soon decided to get a KTM 690 Enduro (almost half the weight, yet freeway capable). The downside of any thumper is the vibration, which reduces long range comfort; the only solution is a smallish twin. The ultimate adv bikes have yet to arrive: Yamaha is working on a new 750 and Honda a smaller Africa Twin... those will be fantastic compromises if they keep the weight under 380 pounds... otherwise, you need two bikes: one large like these beasts for touring and one lighter for weekend day trips to the hills.

      TurnOutTheLights Your thoughts on a Xt660z Tenere? I want to get into adv riding and I'm between a CB500X with some 50/50 rubber or a Xt660z tenere. The only thing keeping me from the Tenere is abs since I live in Wales where rain and moisture are very common and since I'll be having 50/50 tires I don't want to get a bike without abs for when I ride in the street.

    but is it not better to play piano somewhere and than get a adventure, may be on a motorbike witch is not a piano?
