it's pretty impressive what you're able to share in your tutorials. I've been using your plugins for ages & the orchestrator is for me the best tool out there for educational purpose. it's a great learning tool. Thanks guys. The Hollywood fantasy library is still waiting to be included in the Orchestrator ;-)
Hollywood Fantasy Orchestra already has its own Orchestrator (though you can certainly export midi data from the orchestrator and load whatever instruments you want on those tracks)
Great demonstration! I enjoyed seeing your thought process on how you used these two libraries. I love Hollywood Orchestra Opus Edition but when I saw Hollywood Strings 2 come out I bought it specifically because of its tighter sound for faster, denser music (I write metal music). It sounds so good. Thanks for your video!
This library is very good! I use Strings - Strings 2 together. The latter gives a very good presence, and the first thickens the sound. 😊 I would also be interested in the effect settings. If I saw the Virtual Mix Rack correctly, and you use Ozone 9, which effects within it, with what settings? I really like the sound world. Thank you for your work! 😊
Hi Ryan Thomas, Many congratulations, very good orchestration. I bought some of these libraries, they are amazing. So I can study how you do it, could you give me the midi of the work? Thank you very much Carlos
If you already own Hollywood Orchestra Opus Edition or Hollywood Fantasy Orchestra, you can now save an extra $100 off Hollywood Strings 2: www.soundsonline.com/orchestral/hollywood-strings-2
I assume the other families will follow: Hollywood Woodwinds 2, Hollywood Brass 2, Hollywood Percussion 2, and Hollywood Voices 2. Is there any tentative release dates for these accompanying packages?
Did you compose this music by writing it first using a music writing app (Dorico or similar) or by playing it directly? Congratulations.. its a beautiful orchestration!!
Hey thanks! I always play it in directly; I've found using notation software --> DAW is just too slow/cumbersome in terms of workflow, and it's difficult/impossible to get realistic performances if not playing a line in by hand.
Can you tell me which reverb you used? Thanks for show us how this lib sounds in context! I love the sound of HW2. I need to practice the dramatic orchestra style.
Hey there, I'm using a combination of the Southern California Hall strings impulse from Spaces 2 as well as the Classic Digital C with the 3.2s tail. Both are being used as send fx.
Ryan, excellent video as always. I have downloaded HS2 and have a question about the playable run trills. Any tips on how to best play them to get the trill effect? The description says playing legato up to three semitones will trigger the trill effect, but I can't seem to elicit this effect. Appreciate your advice!
Your midi notes have to overlap to trigger the playable trill transition (or beyond 3 semitones, the legato bow change) - otherwise if your midi notes are disconnected you just get the sustain articulations without the proper transition sound between the notes
My own efforts likely breach every single DO NOT and DON'Ts in music theory...in fact my channel might be a good example of how not to make music for pupils which is personally heartbreaking as i love orchestral and cinematic music so much :(
It’s always a learning experience when you post!!!!
Thank you - that's always the goal!
Yes, this is what I have needed from HS2.... Examples of how and when to use what articulations! Thank you!
Glad it was helpful!

Your music is really cool, Ryan!
Now we just need Hollywood Brass 2...
Absolutely.
Hollywood Woodwinds 2 as well.
And a improved Hollywood Choir with better legatos :)
Stormdrum 4 please...
Increible! Te veo desde Chile, no puedo explicar lo magnifico de la calidad de las librerias
This is super useful!

@teo11 would you say that strings 2 is a worthy upgrade of the original strings set?
Hi Ryan Thomas,
Many congratulations, very good orchestration.

Hello Ryan, excellent demonstration! As a composer who inspires you? Who do you listen to?
Hey thanks! I'm pretty boring; I love Silvestri, Powell, and Jackman. If I'm in a creative funk, I just put some of their tunes on.
@@auralaxiomI actually really dig what you composed for this as well so good job! -From an aspiring composer for video games and film
