  • In our previous thrift store find video, we thought this incandescent pink dawn opaque 3 way General Electric bulb was burnt out.
Thanks to a comment by ‪@rs12official‬on our Lights and Switches in the House video, we decided to try this bulb in a 3-way lamp, and it worked! Only the 100w filament is burnt out, but not the 50w filament.

Feels like my childhood even though this is my first time hearing about these bulbs. My family must have had them.

Is it the 3-way aspect or the pale pink colour that are familiar?

I remember those! It’s like a core memory just unlocked.

Turn on one of the burnt out wattages the tap the bulb somtime the broken filament will weld itself back together i learned it from memaw and it works sometimes lasts for a day sometimes even longer or it will just flash like a camera flash bulb

Cool! Will try this! Makes sense if you can get the broken filament to reconnect

This bulb was apparently one of four colored 3-way bulbs manufactured by GE. The other three were Sky Blue, Spring Green, and Sun Gold. They all seem to be quite rare.

Cool! Thanks for sharing that info! We will keep our eyes open for the others on our thrift store visits
