  • As a natural 'natty' masters crossfit athlete, I rely on whole foods and a handful of supplements to perform at the highest levels in CrossFit training and competition. Since my video, "The SURPRISINGLY Few Supplements I take as.a CrossFit Games Athlete", I have made some updates and changes to my daily intake.
    During this LIVE Q&A I will share exactly what supplements I take and my thoughts on supplements I DON'T take as well as answer LIVE questions. I'll also share my take on PEDs, steroids, testosterone replacement therapy, and other performance enhancing drugs.

    Great information!
    Twice a day I make an electrolyte drink with a half teaspoon of pink Himalayan salt, 200 mg of magnesium powder, and salt substitute is 690 mg of potassium chloride per 1/4 tsp. I put in a pack of Sunkist orange or grape flavor. These drinks have made a big impact on my workouts.

    Awesome catch up, congrats again. Expanding on creatine to help others but the body naturally produces it and taking it as a supplement will help boost its effects. Also, be sure to take K2 with D3 as it helps send the vitamin D to where it needs to go.

    • @JasonGrubb
      @JasonGrubb  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I used RomWod for a while and it's great, but I usually just do my own mobility routine during my warmups. I did get a trial of GoWod at the Games and have done a few of those in the last couple weeks... really liking it.

    • @StrideLife
      @StrideLife 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@JasonGrubb thanks for replying, I appreciate it. I like that you just incorporate mobility into warm ups, I think I'll do the same. Surprisingly I can never 'find time' to do mobility routines by themselves haha

    • @JasonGrubb
      @JasonGrubb  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I absolutely understand letting days/weeks pass without even thinking of doing a mobility session lol! With a more involved warmup including mobility, foam rolling, etc, I find I'm avoiding injuries during my workouts and helping my overall mobility.

    I am 42 years old and started CrossFit last November. I don’t aspire to be a competitive CrossFit athlete, but do want to get the most out of my workouts and recover effectively. Do you think supplements are beneficial for someone like me doing 3-4 CrossFit workouts per week?

    • @JasonGrubb
      @JasonGrubb  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Good sleep and nutrition (I can help with that if you need) are far and above any benefits of supplements. However, if you've got those dialed in and are looking for further gains, go for it (with research and medical clearance).

    • @RogueCylon
      @RogueCylon 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Most people need to supplement their diet. You should get some blood work done and focus on your deficiencies. For instance somewhere around 80% of people are magnesium deficient. I find if I don’t take a good B complex then my energy levels are lower.
