I got too see Jeter hit a game winning walk off 13th inning run against the Red sox in Derek's rookie year I got too see the great Mariano Rivera many a time in his prime who now goes down as probably the greatest closing pitcher in history. I used to take all my family members when they visited from Liverpool they loved it too especially my sister. Now I'm up till 4.30am every night for the last 2 weeks watching the playoffs and now the world series. I'm so tired of hearing clueless fellow Brits say isn't it just like rounders when I mention the game😢 it's like comparing table tennis at the local youth club to a Wimbledon tennis match it could not be more different. Just hope my Yanks can get our best bat to start hitting even half as good as he does regular season with his almost triple crown display and we should be OK. Enjoy the rest of series mate.
Baseball really needs an all-time great World Series. The two best teams by far. The two biggest stars by far. This should be the most watched fall classic in almost a decade - and lets hope they deliver something special.

Bs, I wouldn't be happy and neither are you. To lose on a grand slam. Horrible night for the Yanks. Tell Judge the world series has started. He was sleeping again.
Yankees self destruct with their poor defensive plays which lead Freemans miracle slammy. I'd be very *issed if I was a yankee fan. I wonder if Kirk Gibson and Dennis Eckersley were watching this game.
Yankee fan here as well. And not upset about that lose.. yeah its disapointing but it was an amazing game. Anyone could have won that. Baseball, always has something you've never seen before. I had a gut feeling Freeman was going to hit that grand slam. It's what makes postseason so great. Onto game 2
I honestly can't believe that I saw Freddie pull a Gibby. My parents, grandparents and family were around for Kirk Gibson's walk-off home run in game one of the 1988 World Series and now I get to witness this at 28 years old. What made this moment so much sweeter is how Joe Davis paid homage to Vin Scully by saying those famous and iconic words "Freddie hits it to right field, SHE IS....GONE!!!!" Talk about emotional. My parents and I were screaming and shouting in excitement and disbelief at the T.V.. On top of that, the score is something incredible because Fernando passed away at 63 and the final score was 6-3. They were both with us this entire game. Job's not done yet though, three more to go. Go Dodgers!
@@janettevalenzuela4663Yeah I just saw that from a comment just a few minutes ago and it really shocked me. What's even crazier is that somebody also mentioned how the Dodgers left three men on base and four of them scored. Fernando's number was 34. I mean you can't make that up.
oh come on man, that was an amazing game but no need to stretch it into stupidity. yes, it happened to be 6-3. I'm sure if the final score had been Yankees 3, Dodgers 4, it would have been his number 34. If the game had ended at exactly 11:23 it would have been Kirk Gibson's 23. Just let an amazing game be an amazing game without having to involve the supernatural for some reason.
I'm not a baseball fan, but I'm an Ohtani fan from South Korea. What an incredible game! Full of thrilling moments and awesome plays. Congratulations to the LA Dodgers!
@@LyndellHartlosing game one is usually a bad sign and it's how you lost. Grand slam is not the result you want. Series isn't over, but I would be worried if I was a Yankee fan. Stop being cocky.
what a game. Dodgers did it again. Ohtani's double/triple at ninth inning bring Dodgers back from loosing game 1 and Freedman's grand slam at 10th inning swung at first pitch just epic. Remind me of Kirk Gibson in 1989 Dodgers vs Oakland.
Let me tell you that I’m old enough to tell you I saw Fernando Valenzuela pitch that incredible game in 1981 Fernando using 149 pitches to keep the Yankees at bay winning 4to5 , years later 1988 Kirk Gibson with injuries to both his legs hit that incredible home run to win over the Oakland A’s ,and now Freddy Freeman’s bases loaded walks up to the plate with a chance to make history and all it too for him one pitch , one perfect swing of the bat and one monster of a grand slam home run , all I saw was Fernando’s smiling and cheering , Freeman on from heaven , we will never forget you Fernando thanks to all for the memories.
they might as well make up a holiday that falls on World Series games cause I know they are all up right now and still gonna clock into their next shift
@@sntslilhlpr6601 you know, in all likelihood, concerning the Mandela effect, it is a distinct possibility that it has already occurred. The probability of the multitude of games across the storied history of World Series Baseball having within at least one of these very numerous games is disproportionately higher than the, apparent, fact that it's never happened. I suggest we start scouring the record books for anything left undone or I accomplished or unachieved. These hasn't happened yet moments are looking increasingly more likely of happening....no?
Cubs fan coming in peace...... What an outstanding game! Ohtani is an All-world talent and I'll go as far as to say potentially the greatest of all time granted he stays healthy and plays another 10 years. That blast Giancarlo hit gave me chills....but the one Freddie hit gave me heart palpitations! Phenomenal. I do remember the Kirk Gibson shot as a very young kid but this one was a no-doubter. I’ve recently become a fan of the LA Dodgers and baseball, which is surprising considering I was never interested in the sport for 33 years! It all started when I discovered Shohei Ohtani - his incredible talent really caught my attention. Now, I’m not only loving the game, but I’m also drawn to the personalities of other Dodgers players like Teoscar Hernandez, Edman, Freeman, and Betts. Each player's unique style and charisma make the experience even more enjoyable. It’s exciting to finally be a part of this amazing sport! Rooting from Denmark, Europe. Lets go Dodgers!!
1988: Kirk Gibson, so banged up that he wasn't in the dugout, got fired up by the TV saying he was "nowhere to be found". He stormed to the batting cages to take practice swings. In the bottom of the 9th with the Athletics leading 4-3, he limped to the batter's box, fought off pitch after pitch from the Athletics' ace closer Dennis Eckersley, then swung off-balance at a backdoor slider, sending it to the right field pavilion, winning game 1 for the Dodgers.. 2024: Freddie Freeman, enduring an ankle injury and some scary moments during the regular season, walked up to the plate with the bases loaded and 2 out in the bottom of the 10th, Yankees leading 3-2. He swings at the first pitch and crushes a come-from-behind, walkoff grand slam to win game 1 for the Dodgers.
Freddie's homerun reminds me of 1988 Kirk Gibson's homerun, both with a leg injury down in the ninth inning two outs and wins it with a dramatic homerun.
I have a 2 yr old son… can’t wait when he’s old enough to show him Freddie’s grand slam and playing it out in our backyard together (father and son) over and over and over and over… incredible!
My father passed when I was 15 and this brought tears to these 30 year old Dodger fan's eyes. I hope you teach him to love baseball as much as mine did. And throw practice balls at him like Freddie said his dad did to him! Go Dodgers!👏🏼
@@Muzikrazy213 so glad Freeman is a Dodger and gifted us baseball fans with his walk off GS… yeah that father and son baseball relationship is special… sorry to hear about your father’s passing and for sure I’ll be playing catch and batting with my son for as long as I am alive…

He mishandled one crucial one though...which result in Yankees scoring and taking 1 run lead. Had he handled the ball cleanly, it would have been double out for 3 total out and Yankees wouldn't be able to take the lead.

Watching from the Philippines this was one of the best game I ever watch in MLB series. Rooting for LA Dodgers Go!!!
Yes kapatid!👍
Much love from Cali my boy 💙
Watch it here in PH it was a classic game. One of the best.
Hello. I am also from the Philippines. It's nice to know that some FIlipinos also watch MLB. I root for Cleveland which sadly lost vs the Yankees.
Here in Cebu! Yankees fan first, but love the Dodgers as well and the half Japanese in me adores Ohtani. May the best team win!
Wow. This could become a series for the ages if they continue like this.
You got living legends out there and many future HOFer's-Mookie, Shohei, Freddie, Soto ,Cole ,Judge, Stanton probably, and Kershaw who is not pitching.
Who's says baseball is boring? This is amazing! Go, Dodgers!
Playoffs are amazing...they just play too many regular season games and half the league it out of contention by July

"Gibbie, meet Freddie!" That's already an iconic call for an iconic moment in the World Series 🔥
Joe Davis was the Legendary Vin Scully's replacement for the dodgers regular season for a few years before earning the playoff gig. And WOW did he deliver the call of his life right there. #LFGD
*WHAT AN EPIC ENDING!!* Congrats to Freeman. I hope the rest of the World Series games are as exciting as this. Great time to be a baseball fan!! ❤
Feddie hit the homerun for his son and Fernando Valenzuela.

Man I'm a Tigers fan, rooted for Cleveland after our run, and rooting for Dodgers now. All can say is wow. Just wow. What a game. Instant classic. Woke up my wife and kid last night screaming when Freddie hit it out.
I think it's safe to say this is going to be an epic series....
As a Yankees fan, I can not even be upset. That was great baseball. This series is going to be exciting.
Bs, I wouldn't be happy and neither are you. To lose on a grand slam. Horrible night for the Yanks. Tell Judge the world series has started. He was sleeping again.
Yankees play good man
@@chazzx1018 not happy but not mad either , it was a great game. Good luck
Go Dodgers!
Wow! You're right 6 to 3!
@@janettevalenzuela4663Yeah I just saw that from a comment just a few minutes ago and it really shocked me. What's even crazier is that somebody also mentioned how the Dodgers left three men on base and four of them scored. Fernando's number was 34. I mean you can't make that up.
not quite, it wasn't a 3-2 count.
😮
oh come on man, that was an amazing game but no need to stretch it into stupidity. yes, it happened to be 6-3.
Congratulations to the LA Dodgers!

what a game. Dodgers did it again. Ohtani's double/triple at ninth inning bring Dodgers back from loosing game 1 and Freedman's grand slam at 10th inning swung at first pitch just epic. Remind me of Kirk Gibson in 1989 Dodgers vs Oakland.
It was 1988. 89 was the Oakland Vs SF Bay Bridge Series and unfortunately the one when the earthquake hit
This post season has to be up there as one of the best thus far. So many exciting games!
Ngl this has to be the most seen World Series in baseball in history
I wonder how many people in Japan watched today.
Ohtani get's the most views and the highest ratings, he's a generational player.

All of Japan probably watching for Ohtani lol
they might as well make up a holiday that falls on World Series games cause I know they are all up right now and still gonna clock into their next shift
First walk off grand slam in 121 years . First in MLB history!! for a world series
There been plenty of walk off grand slams in history, including the dodgers in 1988 during game 1 of the World Series. But yes amazing non the less💪💙
@@Rileywinter702 Gibson's walk off was not a grand slam. It was a two-run HR.
And it's back-to-back years that there was a walk-off home run in Game 1 in the World Series. Last year, it was Adolis García for the Rangers.

@@sntslilhlpr6601 you know, in all likelihood, concerning the Mandela effect, it is a distinct possibility that it has already occurred. The probability of the multitude of games across the storied history of World Series Baseball having within at least one of these very numerous games is disproportionately higher than the, apparent, fact that it's never happened. extra innings extra innings = extra pressure

Bro doesn't even know what a bandwagon fan is.😂😂 You have to like another team and then switch up to another team to be a bandwagon fan. Stay mad😅
It definitely brought back memories of Gibson and his home run.
Freddie's homerun reminds me of 1988 Kirk Gibson's homerun, both with a leg injury down in the ninth inning two outs and wins it with a dramatic homerun.
