I'm with you...don't think a day has gone by since I was a kid that I haven't played guitar. It's a constant, even though I don't compose as much guitar-specific video game music these days (it's other games like Call Of Duty, Ghost Recon, Just Dance, etc.). Gary Moore...fantastic solo on Still Got The Blues, live and on the studio version. Hard to choose considering there are so many great ones.
When someone asks me to name some favorite guitarists, the name Steve Ouimette is always on the list. He's not in any famous bands, he's not on magazine covers, but he helped make our childhoods special.
Steve with this song and the chugs coming in later in the song it inspired my playing from when I was 6 years old and I first came across the guitar hero 3 DLC thank you sir.
As much as I loved the originals, your contributions to the songs is what I stuck around for. To this day I still listen to them from GH3. Inadvertently driving my motivation to want to play guitar. You should totally do an updated cover of your GH3 songs. I think I would die from the nostalgia!
