    Mr. Ouimette, I remember being a kid excited about playing GH looking for the game's songlist on the internet and finding your name on Devil WDTG besides having discovered other songs like Dueling Banjos and We Three Kings. I kept that name in my memory and today, In my 20s, I can finally thank you for being a part of what inspired me to pick up a guitar and learn when I was a child. You deserve more recognition, I hope I can play one day like you. Greetings from Mexico.

      Thank you very much, I hope it was informative. People don't talk too much about vibrato but it's such a huge part of guitar it can't be overlooked.

      It's all your fault, lol! BTW, I love New Orleans! My wife and I had our honeymoon there and fell in love with the city. Amazing architecture and culture.

      Thanks! Curious what other types of lessons you'd be interested in. I'm looking to do more of these but shorter.

    I always thought when Lukather started he was doing vibrato like the masters but made it last longer like on "Hold The Line"

      You and me both! I still vividly recall hearing that song on my folks radio as a kid. It hooked me right away. Luke is a master of the vibrato.

    that Les Paul looks exactly like Slash from Guns and Roses.
    I have a tip to all guitarists here: Don't do vibrato/Bending too much on your guitar or your guitar strings will snapped/Break or out of tune sometimes. it's kinda frustrating when you're doing it on stage or rehearsals it takes time to slow it down properly.
    Nice lesson by the way, Steve. I realized you were influenced by Brian May, Jack White and others. your song part on We three Kings were been inspired by Seven Nation army. I have to practice but i have to buy a fender strat for a lead guitar. I also want a Les Paul for E standard or half step down to D# tuning. can you do Bending string tips, Shredding tips and other tips like sweep picking pls?

    • @SteveOuimette
      @SteveOuimette  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you very much. I could definitely do videos on sweep picking and such, and I do already have a video on vibrato, which could easily been viewed as a lesson in bending, as that's what a vibrato is rooted in.

      @@SteveOuimette you have any lessons about using an Ebow? I was thinking to buy that ebow for me.

      @@SteveOuimette ok. thanks. I think ebow is the most expensive or cheap in Online shops. if I buy one, I would try one of these. First I need to buy a first practice amp like the small or big one. but I also need wireless guitar pickups.

      I literally just bought it from another Ace Frehley fan (much like me). It's one of the best Les Paul's I've ever played.

    I have to ask, whats that component in the rack with the black squares whooshing around?
    i'm guessing it is a strobe tuner?
    Also, very informative video; I never thought about using another finger to help with the pulling/pushing of the string. I usually go with whatever finger is on the note that needs vibrating lol.
    Many thanks for this insight!

    • @SteveOuimette
      @SteveOuimette  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      You are correct, that's my favorite tuner, a Peterson Strobe Rack. Gotta love it because it has a mic so either it's listening at all times or I can plug directly in to double-check tuning. Glad the video helped too!
