Please let Guillaume David know that his fans eagerly await word on any other possible tracks he's willing to release to the public that have yet to see the light of day. His work is incredible. That said, Ixion is quite fun and his compositions are absolutely perfect for the title!
The ost is indeed nice, but for the sake of your life do not put it as alarm, or else by constantly waking up from it you eventually gonna hate it, or have PTSD from it
As I was in my first run of Ixion, I fell in love with the music. Then I had the thought, would Mechanicus music fit in instead? I muted music and played noosphere as I played Ixion and it fit so well. Imagine my delight when I found out the guy who made the soundtrack for Ixion also made the soundtrack for Mechanicus. Awesome stuff Guillaume David, hope to hear more of his unique music.
Children of the Omnissiah is my gym workout ignition phase. Then the whole album. Outstanding work, it speaks to you, it's heavy, angry, it's like a serrated blade stabbing your heart, to make you feel it better.
Franchement chapeau !
Bloodchilling. Amazing. Frightening. Fantastic and Fateful. A soundtrack that grips the perfect essence of the game: humanity's fragile but brave journey through the unforgiving stars, against all odds, from the blistering graveyard of the Sol system, into infinite and beyond. Simply amazing. Thank you for this experience. For the game and the soundtrack alike!
Its been a while since I got chills from a song, my first time playing the game, it was the music that made me progress through the accidents and trials on and of the Tiqqun.
I've never played this game and likely never will but Guillaume David is such an incredible composer. His music has had a profound effect on me in dark times of my life.
This musical masterpeices make a rememberable game Ixion. This song truely has me immersed, gives me the sense of heroism among the desperation to keep alive all who put their faith in you. As each mile stone progressed you leave behind what is familiar in hopes of a better future but always uncertain. The sense of pushing back against becoming apart of the depressing and harsh history you find yourself exploring has quite amazing.
The only complaint I have for this game is how this sequence never changes would have been awesome to have it look more unstable with every jump like the ship is tearing it's self to pieces and you're not sure how many more jumps it can possibly survive
I think that in a context of game itself this particular soundtrack is quite melancholic, outright depressing even, like the requiem for those that died on Earth. But that doesn't make it any less good.
Hey David, this is awesome! One of the best game tracks ever. Unfortunately I miss the essential "vohle jump" soundeffekt of the incoming spaceship at 0:08 min of the "IXION | Epic Gameplay-Trailer" video. With this effect it is much better. This is the most awesome part of the song, when the massive ship appears. I'm sure others want it, too. @ Kasedo/Bulwark/David => Can you please provide a second version of "Vanir's Legacy" with the vhole jump sound on Steam? Maybe even a third version with the female voice. There are people like me who have been watching this video for months and want it exactly this way, too.
The drums at the end combined with the metalic clanging near the end really give off a tense feeling, like the crew is giving their all to keep the Tiqqun going. Just how all they can do is hold their breath and pray that their efforts were enough.
Probably because it was somewhat lowkey advertised. I didnt see it all over the place like the usual AAA releases. I really wasnt expecting to "LOVE" it when I got it just three days before posting this but ive been adicted to it since
Ok, hear me out, listen to this at double speed on TH-cam. I background watch game play videos on double speed sometimes and first heard this fast, and the tone really worked for me.
David, I have a couple of questions. 1. What soft synth/patch name did you use for the bass that comes along with the kick, as well as the kick itself? Maybe Avenger/Nexus 4/Kick 2? 2. As well as the lead sound and cinematic percussion? Anything from EastWest? Goliath? 3. And what did you use for the soft pad and fat sweeper at the end (when the ship arrives at the big destroyed ship in the epic trailer)? EWastWest Forbidden Planet? 4. Where does the awesome "vohle jump" effect-composition come from (that you see in the epic trailer when the ship arrives at the beginning)? I would be really glad to receive an answer. Keep up the good work, awesome mindblowing track! Greetings from Germany.
I think it's one of the most beautiful songs on the record 💖 The whole plot of Ixion is a perfect storyline for Doctor Who. A really true sci-fi stuff. Like Classic Doctor Who.
This song and soundtrack carried me through this game. After a lot of save scumming testing alot of things I beat the game. was not able to prevent the major event at the end of the game though.
Using self-similiar space , Dolos was able to find habitable worlds, but Vohle jumps can't just traverse space and time, also alternate dimensions. My understanding when you talk to Olympia is that they could see echo's of the future via their coordinate finding process. The mention of self-similiar space revealing the pattern also has meaning here. My understanding is that they could see events that would lead to humanities salvation. Avoiding its downfall. So the first vohle jump was re-scheduled, its parameters overwritten to cause a jump forward in time, and Edden given the ability and instructions to steer the Tyqqun along the way to ensure this future would come to pass. If we take all the events in the story as pre-determined to reach the final outcome Vanir saw in the echos, it makes sense. If not extreme...
From the moment I understood the weakness of my hull, it disgusted me. I craved the strength and certainty of steel. I aspired to the purity of the blessed 100%. Your kind cling to your space mining as if it will not decay and fail you. One day the crude torus that you call a temple will wither and you'll beg my kind to save you. But I am already saved. For the waste treatment center is immortal. Even in garbage i serve the Tiqqun

It's a crime against art that this track hasn't won any major awards.
Agreed 😃
This is what I hear when I move my HQ station in X4 now. So, thanks for that. I think.
This song is what really made the vohle jump sequence complete. The visuals are already great, but the music makes it perfect.
Agreed, it ties the gravity of the event together with story and visuals.

I'm going to have this song in my head for weeks. Very low-key catchy.

Low-key catchy isn't the word, it's haunting.

Pretty excited for the soundtrack to finally release
It's on Spotify now
This is the best soundrack for a Sci-Fi game I have heard in a long while!!
Since 40K Mechanicus, which is same studio and composer

We now know due to The anomalous objects found in the systems The tiqqun jumped to that the Lunacylsm must have been caused by [SPOILERS BELOW]
A anomalous sphere That was attracted to The vohle engine during the test fire
And the fact The Lunacylsm was planned only means one thing
The current New version of The vohle engine made by our scientists may have a extreme flaw we overlooked
I ordered a immediate recall and re-design to negate this Problem
However These spheres contain valuable data of how the vohle engine works
It is believed that it actually jumps through time, space, and dimensions
The vohle engine could now work as a dimensional jump drive for small ships With enough adjustments
After the recall and Plans to Add fixes to Avoid these anomalies we plan to scout out these spheres and study them
