Oh, gosh, you're so kind! 🥰 I hope the recipients felt the same -- they always give us cookies made from a family recipe -- it's hard to match home-baked kitchen goodness! Thank you for the kind comment. ❤
They make pliers that are wire strippers I believe, they have different sized “holes” that you can put the wire into. Your projects are always awesome. 😊
I'll have to look into that! I used some wire strippers like what you describe, but maybe there are better versions. It still took a lot of strength for me to strip the wire. I think they're only meant for electronics, so strip off the end so you can attach the wire to something -- not strip off the whole thing! Thank you for the kind comment and the suggestion. 🥰
Mine too! ❤🎄❤ I love making Christmas decor. I used to embroider a lot when I was younger! When I was a little girl I found my mother's crewel embroidery books and I just started embroidering. 😁 I'm out of practice, though, and it was tricky embroidering on the knit sleeve! I did like the red contrast again the yarn. Thank you for the kind comment and Merry Christmas! 😊
I am a new subbie and I was fascinated by all of them. I didn’t know that you could what you did with the cricut to make the felt bag. I am amazed at your skill and talent. Thank you for sharing. This my first time seeing your video. Now it makes me want to binge watch them and learn some things. God bless you and your family. Happy New Year to you and yours with peace, joy, and prosperity in everything in your life. Again TFS. God bless.
Thank you for subscribing and for taking the time to write this kind comment! 🥰 I wish I could make printed fabric -- maybe some day I'll retire and learn silk screening, lol -- but this seemed like a good shortcut! You can also use infusible ink and "print" with your Cricut on white polyester blends. (I made some Peanuts dish towels that way around Thanksgiving.) And thank you for the wishes for the year -- the same to you and yours! I wish you a happy and healthy and prosperous 2025! ❤
I love the bag! Wonderfully done. We're also...FINALLY....moving away from store bought gift wrap and gift bags. There's so many other ways to present gifts that don't create more waste. ❤
I just couldn’t envision how U could possibly make that wreath look pretty using the wire! 😂 But U DID!! 🤩 It’s stunning!!! U R so talented!! Thank U 4 sharing!! I’m a beginner, senior crafter & I pray I get 2 think “outside of the box” a bit like U do!! God Bless!!
Oh thank you, you're so kind! 🥰 I still feel like that wreath could use something. 😁 The more you craft, the more you'll put things together in new ways. It's a lot of remixing -- materials, techniques, styles. I think the most important thing is to enjoy it! ❤
I have just stumbled across your channel and after watching about 5 mins of this video, I subscribed. I loved all the things you made and even got inspired to do some other things with elements of your projects. We try to be as eco friendly as possible and we repair, reuse, or repurpose with things which would normally go in the bin. I am American and now live in Scotland. We were poor and had to make do. My mother always said the use of your imagination with left over bits and pieces is so much fun, especially for children. I never grew up as I still love it! One of my favorite hand made gifts was when I was ten. I discovered one of our red baubles had shattered when we were unboxing the decorations. I used some clay my Mom had dug up and cleaned and made a heart shaped pendant with some of it, for my grandmother, using the small shattered pieces and made a mosaic heart necklace. I painted the clay once it was shaped and smoothed and baked hard, then added the shattered red pieces and arranged them until satisfied. I used homemade modgepoge and got it all over the front of the necklace to hold everything in place. It required a lot of polishing so the shattered ornament pieces were not all covered over. Then I used some clear nail Polish to seal it. I found some red ribbon and used that for the “chain”. I was so proud of the results and Mom taught me how to make a small box with which to wrap it. Gram was so delighted and wore it often, which always made me feel so proud that she liked it enough to wear it out in public. When I got married to a Scotsman, I carried on the crafting, and in the early years of our marriage money was tight, between the mortgage on our first home and having to furnish and decorate it, we had nothing spare for holiday decorations and shop bought gifts. Hubby is Christian (as is my family) but I am Pagan, so we celebrate Yule as well as Christmas. For Yule our rule is the gift must be hand made, it could be food, something you make yourself or something you buy from an artist, crafter, etc at a craft market or online. For Christmas, the first few years it was a rule that the shop bought gift would be something we needed, either clothes, shoes, etc or something for the house or the yard/garden. I made the stockings and filled it with things we needed to buy anyway, toothbrushes, toothpaste, soap, shampoo, deoderant, etc and for a luxury treat in it some chocolate. They have a chocolate orange over here that is a round chunk of orange flavoured chocolate, if you bang it in the counter or table, it breaks into little orange segments. His family tradition was always to have a Terry’s Chocolate Orange in the stockings, so that was the chocolate for him and being round, it filled the toe of the stocking well lol. Hubby was in awe that I could craft things and repurpose broken things into something else. His family had a tradition where they went for long walks once everyone was off work for the holiday and we took that up. I used it for gathering free crafting supplies from Mother Nature. It is now a tradition for us that we all come back from the pre Christmas walks to make things to decorate the tree or living room with our wild finds. Although money is no longer so tight and we could afford sort bought decorations, we have very few store bought ornaments on our tree. I love that almost every ornament comes with a wonderful memory of holidays past. We try to make something that represents something important or major that happened that year. For 2020 I made a toilet paper ornament with a red Santa hat, the following year I made a little spiky virus ornament representing the global pandemic…hubby loved that one, he is a Research Scientist and was working with the virus as so many others were, to find a cure or vaccine to limit the damage. But most years it is something the family did. A place we travelled to, something silly or good that happened. For the family they don’t need an explanation usually and each ornament that comes out, each decoration, etc and they go through the story of it. You don’t really get that kind of memory with the store bought ones. So I was delighted to find your channel and this video. As I say, I loved them all, so it is hard to choose a favourite as they were all fantastic. It is a tie between the wine bottle sleeve and the wrapping paper inspired bag. A few years ago, I got some fabric from a shop that was closing down and everything was super cheap. I used to quilt a lot and thought it was the right time to stock up. They had some different cotton fabric in winter and Christmas patterns that were less than £1 a metre ( approximately less than $1.25 for a little over a yard). So I grabbed a bunch of designs. Hubby hates wrapping gifts and he always puts my gift (the only one he is responsible for lol) and puts it in a black bin bag and closes it shut with a little bit of ribbon. So trying to be more environmentally friendly, I decided to do away with wrapping paper as it is just a needless waste of trees. So I whipped up a variety of sized bags and a few quilted boxes with covers. They are all washable, still give the festive colours and things, and they have worked out well. I even use them for gifts to friends and they love it as they get two gifts because they have a reusable bag. Some though return the bag as they think I put so much effort into it lol. If they only knew how easy they were. I put draw string ribbons on the bag but I just adore the fold over bag and secured with a button. I am always looking for ways to use up some buttons I made. We had a bad storm that took out a couple of our trees, including the one I planted in my Dad’s memory. I used some of the smaller branches and a little handheld electric saw. I cut the branches into thin pieces and sanded them down before using a drill to make 2 or 4 little holes. They turned out so cute and made use out of the special tree. We are going to make other things with the bigger limbs and the trunk. I made a few giant buttons for decorating a “craft” themed wreath, but most are small, more usable sized ones. I am excited to give the fold over bags go and ai loved the idea of scanning the images you want to put onto the bags. I am thinking of doing that with pics of a friends dogs. She has raised Samoyeds for nearly 30 years. She collects ornaments of the breed, they are her life. I had never considered transferring images to make gift bags, it has inspired me so much, thank you for that!! My brain is just running with the possibilities. Thank you for sharing your ideas and showing us step by step how you did them! Oh and the copper wire, perfect! And I never would have thought to use it on a wreath but I sure will now. I never thought about using it from the expired tree lights but have done so with extensions from old electric items. Unfortunately I don’t know of an easier way to remove the outer rubber bits. Anyway, thanks again! Wishing you all the best for 2025. Love and Blessings being sent to you from the Highlands of Scotland ❄🎄❄
Oh, wow, thank you for this comment! You are a true creative and a person after my own heart -- I feel like there are so many parallels to my life. First, the story of the necklace for your grandmother is so beautiful. I'm sure she treasured it. I love the buttons from the tree, especially the tree you planted for your father. ❤ (I might try that!) Years ago I made a planter for my mom out of a tree stump (it was long before I had a channel). The stump needs to be flat on the bottom, but then you drill/carve out a hole in the top for planting something. I put I think a "hen and chickens" in it for my mom. That might be something you'd like to make from your tree (if it's thick enough -- maybe it isn't old enough to be that thick) because then you would still have something growing. We also have a lot of traditions involving making ornaments -- we have "Christmas craft day," which is the day after Thanksgiving (you remember, expat! 😁) for making ornaments -- most people are out fighting the Black Friday crowds. In fact, one year we went for a walk on the beach and brought shells home to craft with. 🙂 I love the idea of the doggy bag!! You have wonderful ideas. Again, thank you for this lovely comment and I return your wishes -- I hope your year is healthy and full of joy! ❤
All of these are amazing. It's the details you add that make your projects stand out. The pearls on the wreath made me think of bubbles. I have never thought to harvest the strands from old lights. As I watched, the projects just kept getting better. The wrapping paper inspired gift bag was my favorite, but I truly loved all of them. As you know, I love a good recycle/upcycle project. Thank you so much for sharing these projects! I am so looking forward to seeing what you come up with in the new year. Happy New Year!
Thank you for the kind comment! I hadn't thought of bubbles -- I feel that wreath needs more -- maybe larger "bubbles"! The wrapping paper inspired gift bag is my favorite, too. In fact, I wanted to make the wine bag the same way, but I didn't have time -- maybe next year! Thank you for the kind comments and Happy New Year to you as well! ❤😊❤
The wine bag and gift bag are my favorites. I never saw the red and white combo embroidery you did. Both are very charming and perfectly made. I could see using the body of the sweater for a wine bag or as a sleeve for hot pad. The gray gift bag is very elegant. I hope the recipients re-use or offer the bags back to you.
With the embroidery, I was going for simple because it was tricky on the sweater! Originally I really did want to do something more like the knitting on the sweater front, but I didn't trust myself to attempt that. 😁 So rather than Nordic, it ended up sort of candy-like, lol. 🍬A sleeve for a heating pad is a great idea! Or maybe it could be used for a trivet. I was thinking to make another wine bottle holder, but I'm going to keep thinking.🙃 Thank you for the comment and ideas! ❤😊❤
It's been a while since I watched one of your videos Maggie. I'm sorry. Glad this one came up today, lot of great ideas, especially a jean wreath. You've inspired a non crafter to give that a shot. I hope you and your family had a blessed Christmas, and Best wishes for 2025. Forever grateful for your page
Hi, Dan! I hope you had a wonderful Christmas as well. ❤🎄❤ I made over some Dollar Tree ornaments I think three videos back! 😁 (Dollar Tree has some really cute ornaments and you cannot beat the price, but I made over the plastic round ones.) The jeans wreath is pretty easy (DT metal wreath form) and you don't have to cut the jeans a whole lot to do it. For some reason I just love old jeans as a material. I hope you have a successful and happy 2025 and thank you for the kind comment! 🥰
Great ideas. I have been thinking of making gift bags going forward, so good to get some inspiration. I don’t think I have the patience for removing the copper wire however!
Thank you! I want to make bags but I still want opening the gifts to be fun, so I'm thinking about different ways to do it. I think you have to really want the copper, lol, to remove it, although I removed the copper from the other wire after I made this video and it wasn't so bad. As with most things, it's easier with practice! Thank you for commenting! ❤😊❤
These are not crafts that I can do (especially with an active trigger finger!) BUT… I have always enjoyed wrapping gifts and making cards for my family. I don’t need to purchase any more wrapping supplies (ever!) but as I was sorting and putting away earlier, there were a couple of really nice gift bags that people had used markers to label the to’s and from’s directly onto the bag. I could throw them straight into the recycling bin, but the designs were so pretty and I decided I wanted to salvage the good parts to create Christmas cards for next year! It’s just a germinating idea right now, but I am already thinking about the “how” part of this project!
Oh no, I'm sorry about the trigger finger! I think that's a great idea with the bags! Maybe you could cut out some of the designs and recombine them. Good luck with that project, it sounds awesome! ❤
Thank you for the kind comment! 😊Removing the copper from the wire gets easier with practice, I found, but I can definitely see where it could be more trouble than it's worth! 😁
Thank you! 🙂 Now I just have to remember it. 🙃 It was time-consuming, agreed! But I loved that wrapping paper so much I wanted to recreate it and I do love the bag. Thank you again for the illuminating comment! ❤💡❤
Hi!! I'm pretty new to the Cricut and I was intimidated at first (and I am by no means an expert)! But I would suggest, first, use the little tutorial and kit that comes with the Cricut. That's how I started -- I think I made a sticker? It's really helpful to just make something (anything!) to break the ice with the thing. 😁 And then I'd recommend making some low-stakes projects with cheap material. For example, you can cut cereal boxes (I think that might even be a materials choice in Design Space -- if not, try chipboard) or scrap pieces of craft foam or paper. I think the first "project" I made with my Cricut was a stencil so I could spray paint "Yard waste" on my yard waste barrels! Very low stakes -- it just needed to be readable. As you gain confidence, try other things and google when you have a question about how to use Design Space or the machine itself. I learned that you can't really export images from Design Space, that you can increase or decrease the pressure of the blade -- little things like that as I had issues and tried to solve them. And there are a lot of youtubers with Cricut videos, so you can watch those and find the ones you think are most helpful. I remember the Crafty Lumberjacks did a really nice Cricut tutorial. (I think this is it! th-cam.com/video/RJdDBLFFV6o/w-d-xo.html). We're so lucky now -- there are so many resources! When I was young, it was craft books and a few TV shows! Good luck with it. ❤
That is why I was wondering if anybody had a quicker way to do it, although with a sharp knife it can go pretty quickly -- after I made this video I stripped the other wire and I got faster at it. 😁 And the wire before folding and twisting is pretty awful, but once folded and twisted I think it's rather nice. Thank you for commenting. 🙂
Such nice creative pieces! Thank you for sharing. 💕
Thank you! 🥰
OMG! After watching you very clever upcycling, I DEFINITELY had to subscribe! ❤❤❤
Thank you so much for the kind comment 🥰 and welcome!! ❤
Loved the gift bag
Thank you! I think that's my favorite as well. Thank you for commenting.
Hello. Very resourceful and unique. I love the wine bottle holder and the wreath. Both are very pretty and nice. Happy New Year!!

Thank you, and thank you for taking the time to comment! 😊 Happy New Year to you as well! ❤
I can’t believe your talent and creativity. It is off the chart. The wine bottle is amazing. I don’t know that I could part with it.
Oh, gosh, you're so kind! 🥰 I hope the recipients felt the same -- they always give us cookies made from a family recipe -- it's hard to match home-baked kitchen goodness! Thank you for the kind comment. ❤

Wonderful ideas🎉
Thank you! And thank you for watching and commenting. ❤
I love embroidery, so I have to say the wine bag was my favorite. The felt bag was also beautifully made. Christmas is my favorite time to craft.
Mine too! ❤🎄❤ I love making Christmas decor. I used to embroider a lot when I was younger! I love the bag
Thank you! 😊 I do, too, because I loved that wrapping paper! 😁
I loved your gift bag idea! Thank you!

@ you’re welcome sweet lady. Thank you for responding and the info.
Love the sweater sleeve upcycle! I'm adding this idea to my "upcycle crafts" list to make merch for my multi day markets. Praying they'll sell well. 🙏
Oh my goodness, I'm so glad you liked it! I hope it sells for you!! 🤞❤💵
You are so very talented and creative!! You really amazed me with your creativity! I really loved all projects!

I love the bag! Wonderfully done. We're also...FINALLY....moving away from store bought gift wrap and gift bags. There's so many other ways to present gifts that don't create more waste. ❤
Yes! I love wrapping paper but it's so wasteful. And I love crafting, so... win/win!! 😁
Wow! Impressive! Thank you-

Beautiful I love that bag and your inspiration. The wreath is pretty but too much work for me.
Thank you for the kind comment! 😊Removing the copper from the wire gets easier with practice, I found, but I can definitely see where it could be more trouble than it's worth! 😁
The gold button is called a shank button that makes stand away from the fabric the bag is gorgeous however time consuming
Thank you! 🙂 Now I just have to remember it. 🙃 It was time-consuming, agreed! But I loved that wrapping paper so much I wanted to recreate it and I do love the bag. Thank you again for the illuminating comment! ❤💡❤

I really NEED to learn how to use my Cricut machine and Design Space. Any suggestions?
😅copper is my favorite metal color then a stainless steel or hammered steel
It's so pretty! I'm going to strip more of it and see if there are some more crafts I can incorporate it into! Thank you for commenting. 😊
Stripping the wire seems like a waste of time.
