I forgot to give a shout out to Theo Wease for his contributions, not only in the first half of the bowl game, but for his leadership and commitment to MU. His intelligence and character and locker room presence will be missed. Good luck Theo, your work ethic will carry you far.
I get it, especially dealing with the players going to the league.. thats every kods dream and def a selling point. Drink even kinda threw Marquis Johnsons name out there during the press conference after the game, about being basically a year or so away from heading in that direction... Drink is doing good man... He has his flaws but imo, you are watching a coach mature right before your eyes. Saw the same thing with Pinkel, even though had already been coaching for 10 years or so by the time he got to Mizzou. It took him a few years to get it going but he built a program. Watched him build it for the big 12 then morph for the SEC.
DJ going to App State keeps that pipeline rolling too, we've gotten a couple of key players out of the portal from there the past couple of years so that's another potential positive. I'm sure DJ will speak very highly of Eli & Company since he left on good terms and we'll just continue to pluck their best player or two every year out of the portal lol
