In Malayalam movie industry, scriptwriters are revered celebrities... their name get splashed on screens and on posters too... and this has happened since ages... Best literature (novels, novella and shorts were retold as movies. And yes, they were / are paid well too (relatively speaking).

Corporate bookings are the major reason why Prabhas films earn those amounts. They portray the movie as a "hit" even before it's released. And angry Prabhas fans claim "See US bookings, see UK bookings, you are just jealous. See opening day collection of 200 cr". If only they had some brains.

Two things:
1. I feel Hindi actors and culture want to be as western as possible. It’s just actors who want to be as close to Tom Cruise as possible, but while speaking Hindi. Southern actors/culture don’t do that, except with our leading actresses who need to be as white as possible because we are extremely colorist
2. Unions are a huge part of Indian history! But India has historically been a very socialist country, and I mean eastern block style socialism, not western socialism. So it’s not always been a good thing. I think the US is better balanced on this.

Cost and budgets are issues for decades and is nothing new. This was just bashing Hindi films with issues that are there in all industries.

The human quest for drama and storytelling is what lead to religion.
Losing creditability point is very accurate. I am north Indian and have lost faith in Bollywood long back. I also don't watch masala Telugu movies too. But I watch Malyalam movies. They never disappointment. Bollywood and Telugu industry should learn from em. Not saying these industries are not making good movies, they do but very rarely. I do not really trust on actor. I go with production houses/writers and director. You will still get fooled once or twice but then you would put cross mark on such production houses and directors when you learn they would just fool you on the name of big actors.
LSC was awful, faults in performance(Atul wanting to tone down aamir's character but amir think otherwise), believability in script, etc.. explained in this video by TRP

I think the only two bollywood movies that released recently that didnt make or was supported by people enough as much good it was is maidaan and chandu champion both sports biopic but amazing direction. Guys support those movies by reviewing or giving it a movie reaction.

Corporate bookings are the major reason why Shah Rukh Khan films earn those amounts. there's no way Pathaan collected 1000 crores, i slept through entire movie. same goes with Jawan if you take a look at Atlee's previous work, he just used the same story and Screenplay from his Previous films. Let's not forget Aamir Khan's shocking 1500 crores collections alone from China, i just think that Bollywood people can't handle that Tollywood took over Bollywood that's why they re-released Dangal in China after Bahubali the conclusion became India's highest grossing film.

Its just what one individual thinks, thr film might not be good, but pathaan brought back people to movie halls, when i saw it, it was housefull, and i saw it a month later. Jawaan is a movie i liked,(personal opinion), i have watched 3 times at a duration of 3 months, in 3 different states, all were housefull.

The main difference between with india producers and Hollywood producers is. In Hollywood when a movie is produced with budget of 200 million dollars and it's box office collection is 300 million they will mostly disappointed than being happy. But in India if a movie budget is 200 crores and it made 210 crores they will be more than happy.
Pretending to be happy by doing fake booking, fake hype and fake profit margin. No one is happy with bad business.
All 3 khans don’t charge money… they take percentage… if film earns they earn o else they don’t make any…. SRK & Amir started it long time ago since 2000’s & it’s totally fair. But these new stars literally don’t guarantee anything yet they charge huge. Another special case is Akshay Kumar. He is the best example. If it's not true that he has taken 150 crs for those films then its a hit, ramsetu earned 80 crs in India and over 120 crs world wide, same goes for bacchan Pandey. Rakshabandhan was made at 40 cr budget and it also collected over 70 crs. I don't know who is spreading false news that he charges 150 crs for all his movies. His share in the profit has been very high over the years. Because he has given 25 hits in last 12 years. Others haven't made half the number of hits he has given

Actually, it is Salman Khan but no one talks about that because many people were unaware back then and the movies did well. Wanted, Ready and many more such movies of the time were remakes of South Indian movies.

In indian cinemas ( except malayalam films) 50 percentage of the budget goes to actors. The aother half is for technicians, sets, overall production etc etc.....pathetic.😅
Hey, regarding the union culture, in Kerala culturally the state has been and is very pro-union. However, not getting political, this has resulted in many industries (barring the IT sector which is not unionised) especially in the manufacturing sector to move out of the state. Unions and generally labour laws are very sector and state specific in India. So in other states there are unions but depending on the state they vary in effectiveness. In film industry, no industry has a strong union but again, Kerala has AMMA, which is like an association for actors, it has done some good things but has faced a lot of criticisms recently for not adequately supporting an actress who was sexually assaulted allegedly by a very powerful actor in the Malayalam Industry.
Power corrupts. There are very strong unions in Northern European countries that does wonders for their industries as well. But what happened in Kerala is that Unions became politicized and that led to corruption and division even within the union. You can see different unions in other countries but you don't see unions as extension of political parties that sabotage each other like in Kerala in those countries.
Now unions as nothing different than what used to be local landlords who terrorize and extort workers in their land, now the unions do that to the workers and employers
Lal Singh Chaddha was very good movie but it floped in India. ' Shivaay' was another good movie but it was not blockbuster. Same is true about ' Bhola' .
LSC was an official remake of Forrest Gump. Shivaay was an adaptation of Hollywood movie Taken and Bhola was a low quality remake of an otherwise good movie Kaithi. See a pattern?

Its sad how bollywood has downgraded so much after the pandemic.
A couple of points I feel like she didn't explain properly.
1. Higher actor fee is justified for stars like salman and pretty much all south actors. they bring that return. Actors like akshay kumar, ajay devgn ranvir and other small bollywood actors are the problem.
2. Corporate bookings is mostly associated with hindi movies especially srk. The article on salaar she shared was agenda driven as it was in competition with dunki. Dunki's malpractices were exposed by prabhas fans and south media as evidenced by the tweets she shared in the video and as damage control , ppl involved created a narrative saying " oops both sides resorted to malpractices in the heat of the competition" . A clear example is pvr inox chain (srk's best friend is the ceo) who at first refused showcasing of salaar until hombale called for a ban of the chain in south india , later pvrinox spearheaded and opened this fake shows campaign on salaar. It was the only chain where these shows popped up and helped fuel the narrative. these fake shows immediately stopped once Telugu distributors of Salaar threatened pvrinox with a law suit. They also clownishly denied entrance of families to screenings of salaar and suggested replacement of those tickets with ones for dunki. They cited salaar is A rated and children cant be allowed. A rule which was never strictly followed in India even for the movie animal which released 20 days prior to salaar and dunki.
3. paid reviewers blackmail makers and extort money to give a favorable review or else, they claim the movies collections are fake or embark on other negative campaign. Kalki makers are the recent victims and they filed a defamation law suit on these critics, couple of weeks ago.
4. OTT platforms flooded small films with huge money initially and basically killed their theatrically run with early ott releases. Now they are trying to lower the prices and dictate the terms once they gained a firm choke hold on this market.

I think your channel is awesome but what gives you the right to pass moral judgements when your channel itself has shown its bias/favoritism towards certain actors/directors you call dosts. Perhaps with the incentive that they have come on your channel bringing you exposure so you avoid speaking about their work in a bad light.
Ex: that reaction to actors who openly hate working with …, you completely edited out Anurag kashyap’s part because he’s your dost. That friendship obviously includes multiple interviews for your channel as well as giving you access to other artists through kashyap. It inherently helps your brand. You might not have taken money directly but you benefit from associating with kashyap so you also avoided speaking about him negatively in that instance.
Long story short: this is a case of the pot calling the kettle black.

I always believed that majority of Hindi movies are below average to utter crap and are just over-hyped via marketing. These movies have the smallest shelf life. It comes down to 4 to 5 days post release. One month down the line I don't even remember what was XYZ actors last film. Thats how bad it is and it very well deserves it..
Ironically the SUPER-SHARP contrast is just nearby in Malayalam Cinemas churning out superior contents at almost one fourth of the budgets and that too consistently.
Hindi movies is ONLY about money, Malayalam movies is about artistry.
