First Impressions: Märklin Flixtrain BR193 Vectron

- I went to Columbus, Ohio to help my son and daughter-in-law move. While there, Joyce and I met up with Eric from A&C RR, a n scale and life journey
(@acrranscaleandlifejourney4330 ) and had a good time. We hung out at Robbie's Hobby's, who has a small collection of Märklin items. One that has caught my eye for a year was the Flixtrain Vectron, which I decided to buy.
The Model is a Märklin MHI exclusive and was released in late 2020. MHI is Märklin Händlers Initiativ (Märklin Dealers Program), so only licensed Märklin shops can sell it. They are not rare, but harder to buy unless your shop carries them.

Very enjoyable meet up. Anthony was very excited about several of the Märklin products that were available. The MOW models from Märklin has are absolutely fantastic. I was jealous how nice they were. I’m glad it runs good and makes you happy. Thanks for sharing.

Indeed. I probably shouldn't have bought it, but i felt disappointed after not finding what I was looking for at the Toledo Train Show and spent the rest of my train budget. I just ordered the matching cars, too.

It is a sharp locomotive for sure. It was an impulse buy, and this hobby is expensive enough without making crazy purchases, but it was a good deal. lol Fortunately, Joyce forgave me quickly. :)

Nice locomotive. Myself I like hearing the sounds it makes sounds like the electric motors are justa working and screaming while they are hauling all that nice beer. sounds great.
I do enjoy having one train with the sound on, too. When they all have sound on, it's a headache. lol

I am glad you get this one buddy. I am really beginning to like German trains and I am slowly moving over to them but I am going to get the Lima BR401 ICE 1 after playing with one in Train Simulator Classic. I fell in love with the train and I am getting a HO scale model as a 4 car pack :).
That's great to hear, Peter. I expanded from German with Austrian and Czech... now some UK OO stuff on a separate track, and will be adding some American for my layout, as well. No reason we can't celebrate international! Cheers!

I have recently bought the German ICE 1 train pack by Hornby-Lima that is the present day DB livery as well as a Piko SU46 that is from Poland and the SudExpress BR159 in EVB livery to replace some of my UK and Irish model trains that I am not interested in. If you ever wanted a SudExpress DB BR159 locomotive, they do a 3 rail AC sound version with motorised pantographs for about 450 Euros. Not sure what that is in USD but its crazy loaded with functions though. I know Hornby used to make 3 rail Dublo but I am not sure if that works on the Marklin system? I tried asking at the last model railway exhibition but all I got was attitude from the layout owners. I was going to get one and give you it as a gift last year but I didn't want to risk it messing up the layout if it wouldn't work. When I do get around to making my German model railway after I have moved. I will likely use Zimo and Lenz DCC decoders.

I like the Locomotive I found the passenger cars that goes with it Check out Reynaulds article number is 42955 but called first if they do have it in stock it show to be in stock
