The pizzeria that changed south Brooklyn

J & V pizzeria has been operating since 1950 and is one of the most beloved local slices of Bensonhurst, Brooklyn. In addition to having one of the best round and square slices, they serve Jojo sandwiches unique to their pizzeria - it is served with chicken, meatballs or eggplant in the middle with bread that melts in your mouth. Vito (employee) talks about how their pizzeria was started, still going strong 73 years later.

0:14 A slice joint from 1950 still open under the same family is rare and impressive. But to be honest, L&B Spumoni Gardens (1939), Sam's (1930), and Totonno's (1924) are easily older and just are few of the oldest pizzerias in Brooklyn.
And there's been pizzas been in Brooklyn since at least the early 1900s. Pop's was one of the earliest ones, and it closed in the 90s, I believe. The buildings on the block it was on no longer exist.
