I have the 2501 it let's go of the sandpaper In the front. This is a known problem with this sander . This has been my only problem with a ridgid tool. Its the weekend. Ridgid failed and is not open untilMonday. Off to buy the Bosch. Biy once cry once.
for those crying the sand paper is coming off, you're not supposed to push down on a sander when sanding, you're supposed to let the weight of the sander do the work. Otherwise the paper comes off, common sense isn't common anymore.
Actually, it falls off without the sander being pressed onto any surface. This issue just started with mine. I placed the paper and turned it on, holding it in the air, and the paper fell off from the front. Perhaps it doesn't have enough grip, and the vibration may be too much. Either way, it's quite frustrating.
Yes, the paper keeps coming off this Rigid sander. Other sanders do NOT have this problem, Makita, Black & Decker, Dewalt.... PUSHING DOWN ON THE SANDER IS NOT THE PROBLEM. A STUPID RIGID PAPER CLAMPING DESIGN IS THE PROBLEM.

The front clip will not hold paper. Even when not sanding. Turn it on and it slips rightout.
