- Victims of what's been described as the worst scandal in NHS history are finally due to get some answers.

On Monday, the inquiry into what happened to some 30,000 people given blood products contaminated with HIV or Hepatitis C - during the 70s and 80s - is due to deliver its final report.
But one victim dies every four days, so many have not lived long enough to see it. And those who have will still have to wait even longer for compensation, which could run into billions.

Dad was in hospital getting treatment for Leukaemia...he was given Hep B...they fobbed us off, medical notes are missing or destroyed..tried going to a solicitor years later who fobbed us off too...been almost 30yrs of cover ups and now at last it's exposed....RIP Dad you missed out on so much ❤❤❤❤

Three of my male friends died with this disease. And I believe it can be got rid off. No one should die from it or of it. Dr Bryan Ardis on Watch The Water has some knowledge. As has many of his associates.
One of my friends was a haemophiliac baby in about 1984, and he was given blood transfusions from America that the British government have admitted that they KNEW was likely to be infected with HIV, but they big fat did it anyway, because the blood was cheap. My friend has suffered with ill health all his life, it has stunted his growth. It limits what work he can do, and the hours he can work. It's made relationships difficult, as he always has to be upfront with any potential partner. He's unable to have children. The stigma of being HIV positive is still very real.

Prior to this treatment, as flawed as it was, most haemophiliacs didn't reach adulthood, It is sad that a treatment that gave them extra life also gave them HIV.
Where are the criminal prosecutions?

There's rarely any justice unless it's on the common folk.

Legally under the Inquiry Act it cannot call for criminal prosecution so that recommendation is not in there
I remember seeing a documentary about this 15+ years ago. Shameful that's taken half a century to be fully investigated.

This is utterly heartbreaking to listen to , they deserve a voice, respect, dignity let alone compensation for the needless tragedy that has been put onto them and their families
Why. You could know easily about the devastating effects of blood. Any doctor prescribing it should do life in prison.

We are seeing unusual activity, mainly clots, in blood samples and it’s not just Covid. This also needs to addressed that we make sure blood is checked and cleaned before use. The Canadian Covid inquiry has a heart breaking case testimonial about this. It is being looked at, but like with everything they will deny until it’s too obvious and then they will make excuses.

Kathy yes. 1979 1980 and so on. It was the early 1980's three of my friends died with AIDS. One was a beautiful male model, one a handsome doorman and one a hermaphrodite... It was painful to see them suffering. And even more to know they were so young and not ready to leave but given no choice. The fear in their eyes and expressions broke my heart. Precious Memories of them stay with me.

My dad died in 2013 after finding out he had bowl cancer in early 1997 had to under many blood transfusions where he contracted hep c. I’ve recently learned they kept the infected blood till at least the year 2000 but only people who was given transfusion sept 1991 can be given compensation which is horrendous

I will never if my Father died from Contaminated Blood. In 1970 my Father started blood transfusions every month after being diagnosed with Aplastic Anaemia. He started them in September1970 until he died from Pneumonia in June 1971. I will never know if he died from Contaminated blood he had 10 transfusions. I had to have a blood tra nfusion in August 1970 before I had my third child. Should I have the test? I had Bowel Cancer in 2021 I am now in my 3rd year off recovery.

Retroactive tests on some suspicious deaths have shown that HIV was already spreading around in the 60s. Arvid Noe was definitely infected in the 60s before his 1976 death.

My father in law was a hemophiliac. He died in 1995 of aids. We didn't know until after his funeral. My eldest son (Peter) was only a few months old, his grandad asked if he could spend some time with him. I would love to know what he said to him. Also when he found out he had to sell his fish n chip shops. But he still worked. When he was younger he was a bouncer ( door man). His grandson has hemophilia as well, He is just like him it will never stop him from enjoying life. I have 4 sons and a daughter. Also my second son is a hemophiliac as well , he is a engineer. My 2 youngest sons don't have hemophilia. I am proud that they have 25% of his dna, also my eldest is the father of my grandson. He would be so proud of all of them. RIP Peter.

My fathers picture should be among them. He was infected with Hep C and he passed away in 2001 my father was a severe haemophilia and he wouldn’t go for treatment.. his two brothers were infected too and my nephew was infected too. I want the doctors that knew to be prosecuted to the highest standard 🤬🤬🤬

There should be prosecutions, apologies not enough. Government, Health Authorities, NHS, doctors, mainstream news not one trustwothy or honest. Disgraceful. God help us this countries degrading.

The government imported blood products from dubious sources at cheap rates, the effects were being seen in the early mid eighties onwards.
The question is would the treatment have been available if it had been more expensive to produce, we have people now that can get treatment on the NHS because the treatments are too expensive.
Now i know why i grow up with no grandparents

At the time I had set up a Sunshine's Place web page entirely dedicated to explaining Hemophilia. The reports from America to campaign for the 100 thousand dollar bill bill to be passed and this page was visited by all kinds of countries all over the world, especially many members from England. I once smuggled the DVD Factor 8, from America in my possession where prisoners sell their contaminated blood. manufacturers knew about it and kept it quiet!
They knew since 1982, that's why the US banned homosexuals from donating blood in 1983.
