Love your approach and transparency. When I see your shirt and hear about bad crimping, I can't help but think people with allegedly obstructed sight lines would not be happy. Another good video. Thank you.
Great video Cary! I’ve got the expression light package and it’s really an awesome add to Foo Fighters. Like you, I really just wanted the green glow at a minimum. Agree the ordering options are a bit confusing - took me a bit to figure out which package I wanted…
every stern that I own that had the square speakers, I had to install the round kenwoods along with the speaker light kits for them. It just looks awesome. Even the random light shows make folks go gaga. Funny thing is once those are in the sound is usually great. I have the jurassic park 30th that has those preinstalled, and the sound sucks. Every other game sounds great.
Speaker upgrade and lighting kit was a huge upgrade on my Foo also, i got a different light kit but it makes that game look and sound SO much better. Im waiting on my expression light kit also. i got mine from Pinball life and have ZERO complaints.
just bought the Jaws LE cabinet light kit that syncs with the pre installed speaker lights from stern.Think the blue shimmering light will look great on that game, and as you play it, gets progressively red. Gotta be cool.
we do have a kit that works specifically with the Jaws LE build - it is a slightly different configuration but is interactive with the LE speaker lights @@doctoroctos
So just got my Jaws LE expression lighting kit. Main gripe is that the cabinet board they sent wasn’t the correct board. Looks like it was a speaker kit board. Second gripe echos yours-the instructions are terrible, and are often at odds with the videos. Had to redo several steps of the install. So I do have my back box lights which are synced with the game and the Stern installed speaker lights (looks awesome btw) but nothing under the cabinet yet. It will be amazing tho. End result may justify the pain getting there, but all of this should be tightened up.
My eyes! The goggles do nothing! Swinks and Stumblor have both asked me to review manuals for a few of their products in the past, which I've done and they've both taken the suggestions and edits and corrected them. I would hope other mod makers would be as pro-active.
The lights look very good. Great video! We are still waiting for your recap video and opinions on the different Pins on TPF. What are your thoughts about Jaws, Looney Toons, BBQ game, etc?
I have the Expression lights on order for my Foo Premium. I've been intrigued by the mods that hook into the expression PCB to get the "Jaws LE"-style expression speaker rings. The "It's Lit Pinball" video clip looks like they had the expression-synchronized speaker lights. Does the kit you have do that? Having the undercab/backbox lighting looks awesome too... I'm also curious how much room would be available to have the basic PinStadium bars for playfield lighting... and Expression for the 'light show' effects. How do you think something like that would work? Thanks Cary!
The speaker lights and cabinet would sync with the expression system. My speakers and cabinet lights are synced - but not to the game. because I don't have the stern board.
@@CaryHardy I wonder if anyone has tried to install the pcbs related to expression lighting without the lights/artwork side of the kit to with with the speaker/external lighting mods. Great videos as always. Awesome you gave back by providing an improved install video.
@@CaryHardydid you get rid of the pinstadiums? I love my FF with Pinstadium atoms but also have the Expression lights coming so curious if I can (or would even want to) use them together. I’m guessing you’ve already experimented with this.
Thanks for the video. I have the cointaker deluxe speaker lights on my Foo Fighters as well. How many volts are you getting from the power supply output that came with it? I emailed cointaker and they said the speaker lights are 12 volts, but I'm showing 5.4 volts output on their included power supply.
I don't know. When I was checking for why they weren't working I had NO voltage. Not even the 120 from the AC - which is what led me to find the bad connector. Once I fixed that I didn't investigate further because everything seemed to work fine.
They are supposed to be +5v....hearing that CoinTaker told you +12v is just proof that they have no idea what they are even selling. They simply sent my light kits off to someone and said, "copy this" and then they mark it up and sell it. They didn't develop or design anytrhing....just copy my design and hardware and take those coins from their unknowing customers. They also call them 6x9 light kits when there is nothing 6x9 about them. If you want the origibal and better SPIKE 2 Deluxe Speaker Light kit....look into who designed them. Mine are better (mainly due to my custom controller. So, the light patterns actually match the light frames, so you don't get that "off kilter" look that Cary has on his greens going around) and normally a lower price. Cary, if you want to make what you have look better....send me an e-mail. A replacement controller and a quick swap should fix their lack of care and help with the visible shortcomings that their knock-off attempt has.

Still just laughing about that damn diffuser install. Such a great and obvious tip.

10k soon. Not bad for pinball.

I thought people would have seen my video with a few other guys on a FlipnOut stream where we went through them all....
Not all of us can stomach those two shills. They used to offer an honest opinion (the exact reason we watch you) - now they’re bought and paid for.

The Cointaker kit provides 5v power output. Most of the kits with the digital LED are 5v.
